So what habit did you have to break to stop hitting your watch on things? Posted: 13 May 2019 05:41 AM PDT Didn't realize when I open my car door from the inside I use my wrist and forearm to push it open. And my mailbox -- that I check from the driver's side of the car -- seems to be carefully calibrated to whack the top of my watch when I reach in, no matter what I do. You? [link] [comments]
My Apple Watch app for counting down current calendar events is finally out! Posted: 12 May 2019 03:48 PM PDT Hey guys. A while ago I posted a TestFlight link to an app I was working on, but quite a few people said they would rather wait until it is fully ready-- well it is now! https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/how-long-left/id1450603293?ls=1&mt=8 (Full disclosure, the app does include an in-app purchase to access the ability for the countdown to be shown in the complication, but I think even without that feature the app is just as useful.) So, check it out if you want. Thanks :) [link] [comments]
What I Use My Watch For (that doesn’t involve working out) Posted: 13 May 2019 06:46 AM PDT I see this question a lot from people who are in the market to buy one, so I figured I'd share what I use my Apple Watch for that don't involve fitness: 1.) Looking at useful notifications, as I keep my phone on Do Not Disturb for very large portions of the day thanks to my work schedule. 2.) Quick text replies 3.) Complications / Siri watchface: it is so much easier to look down at my wrist for quick info than to keep looking at my phone. I especially use the calendar complication a lot to see what I have to do for the day. 4.) Third-party apps like Chirp, Nano, any sports app, Cheatsheet, and Things. The last two are key to my productivity, with Cheatsheet being the most clutch with my day job. 5.) Unlocking my MacBook (I hate typing in my passcode so this feature is amazing) 6.) Breathe App (it actually does help when you're stressed/overwhelmed) 7.) Apple Pay 8.) Controlling my music, and sometimes listening to music from what I have saved on my watch 9.) I have LTE, so if my phone dies that comes in handy if I can't to a charger (my watch battery usually has more than enough juice when that happens) 10.) Last two things: sleep tracking and checking my heart rate. These two aren't things I pay a great deal of attention to, but sometimes the info is useful. Hopefully this helps someone out there make their decision. I love my watch, and maybe one day I'll use it to workout more as well, but right now I get more than my money's worth out of it. Tracking Sex as a Workout on your Apple ⌚ Posted: 13 May 2019 06:44 AM PDT Hey guys, I hosted an AMA a few months ago about my apps HockeyTracker and SoccerTrackr for Apple Watch. Well, I had an idea...that the same types of data would be really interesting to track during sex. So I quietly shipped SexTrackr for Apple Watch last week and have been iterating on it since. Like most HealthKit based apps it will also go towards filling your activity rings. More than just using the standard workout app, the features I added are the ability to track vo2Max, Heart Rate Recovery (which is a metric that I think is really catching on in the health and fitness community as one of the best indicators of overall health), and I just added a chart of your heart rates during the last update. In a subsequent I'll be adding a heart rates zone analysis as well as an effort level. If you want check it out, I'd love to hear any feedback you have: https://itunes.apple.com/il/app/sextrackr/id1460157137 [link] [comments]
I am getting below 40 bpms notifications while sleeping Posted: 13 May 2019 08:17 AM PDT Hello! How normal would you consider this? I am usually below 50 bpms while resting but lately I have been getting notifications of below 40 bpms while sleeping (38 or so). Should I worry? Thanks [link] [comments]
Question about Milanese loop genuineness Posted: 13 May 2019 07:58 AM PDT I recently bought an space black Milanese loop from ebay claiming to be genuine and based on comparison with my girlfriend's, it appears to be. i.e all of the marking are present and side by side seems the same. The only thing that is different in the marking ' TRY ON USE ONLY' on one the connector lugs. Does anyone know why this is? I figured it my be a display strap used in store and not for sale? I've linked images of the different etchings on the strap. Thanks [link] [comments]
No humidity on native weather app Posted: 13 May 2019 06:55 AM PDT It is really odd that with all the data Apple's native weather app provides, it does not provide something as crucial as relative humidity. Or, lacking that, a "feels like" number that many sites provide. I have no interest in paying for a weather app unless I have to, so anyone care to suggest a free weather app for the watch that does provide relative humidity? Many thanks [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 May 2019 08:16 AM PDT I have an series 0 apple watch, Stainless steel 42 mm to be exact. I'd like to upgrade to something a little newer; something that runs watchOS 5. I don't mind if it's even just a 2, but it needs to be 42mm. I'm just trying to figure out the cheapest way to do it. Obviously if I can sell my stainless steel one for enough to buy a newer aluminum one, that would be preferable. Eventually I'd like to get the series 5 when it comes out this year, but at this point I'd just like something that isn't extremely laggy. Any suggestions? [link] [comments]

Posted: 13 May 2019 07:46 AM PDT I am coming to the conclusion that there is one enormous factory in China that makes all these cheap third-party bands and sells them to different retailers who then offer them on Amazon under different names. I was going to warn readers about the brand I purchased on Amazon, for $11, for use in the gym, which survived two washings on a cold-water, gentle cycle, in a mesh bag but, after the third washing, those little velcro pads peeled completely or partially off. Checked on Amazon and, no surprise, the manufacturer has disappeared. Any suggestions for watch brands that are about 1/2 way in price between the expensive Apple ones and these cheap, $11 ones? Posted: 13 May 2019 07:38 AM PDT Hi. I was just wondering if you were able to listen to Spotify playlists on the Airpods via the Watch without a phone. I'd like to start going for runs & I was hoping I could take just my watch and a pair of airpods without having to bring my phone along. [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 May 2019 07:30 AM PDT I currently own a series 4 -44mm aluminum Nike space grey watch. I work in law enforcement and time to time i deal with use of force. I take big risk taking my watch with me. I recently learned that the stainless version of the watch has a tough scratch resistant screen. For those of you who own one these bad boys, how have they held up? .... Looking to switch. [link] [comments]

Walkie Talkie Invites not showing up? Posted: 13 May 2019 07:21 AM PDT I have a S3 apple watch. My wife has an S4. We connected Walkie Talkie no problem. My sister also just got an S4, and neither of us have been successful connecting to her with invites. Whether my sis invites us, or whether we invite my sis. Has this happened to anyone? Posted: 13 May 2019 06:31 AM PDT For several years, I've been using a MiBand for health metrics and basic notifications/alarms on my wrist. Recently, with some travel coming up, I felt that it was time to step up the game and upgrade to an Apple Watch. For the most part I'm very happy with it. There's one thing that the MiBand seems to do better, unless I'm missing a trick. The alarm function on the MiBand pulses x times then stops. If you do nothing, the same thing recurs every y minutes until you interact with it. Eventually, after z tries, it stops. N.b., you don't have to interact with it: The alarm pulses the band x times, then stops, with no interaction required. This is very useful, especially as a wake-up call. The Watch, by contrast, pulses continuously until you interact with it. You can snooze it—but you have to interact with it. Is there any way to change the alarm behavior on the Watch to replicate the MiBand's alarm? Or an app that behaves similarly? (In a perfect world, it would be nice to be able to modify the values of x, y, and z, too.) [link] [comments]

Any good watch bands for skinny wrists for the 42 mm watch? Posted: 13 May 2019 05:54 AM PDT I am giving my 42 mm to my daughter and she likes it but she has very skinny wrists and the watch bands doesn't fit. The short one that came with the watch does but Apple bands are so expensive. Just wondering if there was some good third party bands that would work well. Thanks! [link] [comments]

Do you still wear regular watches? Posted: 12 May 2019 08:31 PM PDT To those who own regular watches, did you completely abandon them after getting an Apple watch? I own watches that have a lot of sentimental value and are my daily drivers for casual and formal events. Seeing how the Apple watch has a $50 discount for the past two weeks, I've been on the fence, nearly purchasing it, but the thing that stops me is I don't want to abandon my regular watches. I like the idea of having notifications on my wrist and the health and fitness features, but every time I'm about to purchase it, I think about how my regular watches have been with me for more than 10 years now and an Apple watch most likely will be defunct after some amount of time or I'll feel the need to upgrade once newer features or bigger spec bumps show in a future edition of the watch. Anyone else ever feel that way about their regular watches prior to purchasing an Apple watch? [link] [comments]
Apple Watch Replacement by Apple Posted: 13 May 2019 01:36 AM PDT Those of you who had your watch replaced by Apple, regardless of the reason, did your original strap get replaced too or just the body of the watch? Should I be carrying the whole box with me when I head to the store for replacement? [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 May 2019 01:30 AM PDT Series 2 won't connect to my iPhone after getting its broken screen replaced. The guy at shop said something to do with software. Any ideas how to fix? [link] [comments]
