Series 4 with cellular 'unlimited' data plan, when to use wifi? Posted: 03 May 2019 11:48 PM PDT Hi, I recently got a series 4 with an unlimited data plan with EE (UK). I am wondering what the pros/cons of these 3 options for battery life, (speed of) push notifications (emails, texts, other apps), and overall function are, if I am at a location where I can connect to a fast and stable wifi. In all 3 scenarios my series 4 is also connected to my iPhone (via bluetooth).
For option 3, I am also wondering if basically the wifi becomes prioritised, and the cellular function just sits on standby without really being used? I don't have much to support this idea, except that every time that I go into the cellular data settings on my Apple Watch it takes a few seconds for it to load and show that I am connected to "EE". This kind of makes me think that whenever wifi is on and working (and when the Apple Watch is connected to my iPhone), then the cellular data isn't used at all, even if it is enabled. Posted: 04 May 2019 08:09 AM PDT Hello r/AppleWatch! 👋 I'm an iOS developer and a gym enthusiast, and for the last year I have been working on an app to track your gym sessions. The reason I started this project is that after years of trying out different gym apps I couldn't find one that I really loved. Especially for Apple Watch, which I think is the perfect device for this, I haven't seen an app that really nails the UI for tracking sets and reps. I think Liftin' can offer something new and different here. Features
The app is also integrated with Apple Health so if you use the watch app your workouts counts towards your daily activity goals. Liftin' has a native look and feel, the design is mostly inspired by apps made by Apple. I want it to feel right at home on iOS. Business modelLiftin' is a premium app, but is free to try. All features are available in the free version so you can try it out, but the number of workouts you can track is limited to five per month. To use the full app without limitations is $4.99 for the first year, and then $14.99 per year. I know many of you are not fans of recurring costs for apps, but for the quality and longevity of the app I think this is the way to go. I plan to work on Liftin' for years to come and keep adding features and improvements, and I will always prioritize my long term users. What's nextI have gathered great feedback during the beta period, and I will implement many of your requested features. Over the next few months I will work on these new features:
If you have any ideas that you would like to see in Liftin', let me know! Use the feedback button in the app, or just send a mail to feedback@liftinapp.co. You can follow Liftin' on Twitter @liftinapp and like on Facebook. You can also follow me on Twitter @_nstrm A big thanks to all the people who have been beta testing for the last few months, you have been super nice and super helpful! If you like Liftin' please rate it in the App Store and tell your friends about it, I appreciate all the help I can get to reach more lifters out there. I am looking forward your feedback! 🙏 [link] [comments]

How long does your S4 battery last? Posted: 03 May 2019 10:58 PM PDT I just got my S4 watch a couple days ago and I feel like the battery is draining unusually fast? I think it gives me roughly 1.5 days with of use. [link] [comments]

Posted: 03 May 2019 06:39 PM PDT I recently added a Sonos speaker setup to our house, and have been looking for an ideal Watch app to help control it. My friend recommended Lyd, and it's perfect. It's able to control the volume and music going to the various speakers, which is exactly what I needed. It even has a small complication. I have no affiliation with the developer, just looking out or other Apple Watch and Sonos users. I know this is a niche interest, but hope this helps someone else out. [link] [comments]
Is there an Apple Watch app that alerts me if I've left my iphone behind? Posted: 03 May 2019 02:36 PM PDT Is there an Apple Watch app that would in some way alert me if I am in the process of separating myself from my iphone. For example, maybe the app knows that it and the iphone have gone out of bluetooth range. I've searched for this but have not yet found anything. (I don't yet own an Apple Watch.) Thanks! Play Podcasts on original Apple Watch with AirPods, without iPhone? Posted: 03 May 2019 08:36 PM PDT What app can I use to sync some podcasts to my old first gen Apple Watch and listen with my AirPods without bringing my phone with me on a jog? Normally I use overcast on my phone but I don't see a watch app despite the "sync to watch" option in the settings. It looks like the official podcast app is watchOS 5 only, too? What kind of locks are there on Apple Watch ? Posted: 03 May 2019 12:35 PM PDT I'm planning to buy a pre-owned, so I wanted to know what are the activation locks that would prevent me from using it. Thanks [link] [comments]

Series 3 Repeatedly Calling Last dialed number Posted: 03 May 2019 01:41 PM PDT My S3 on watchOS 5.2 randomly started calling the last dialed number in my phone over and over. Started about two weeks ago. The first time, I turned it off/back on and it continued to try and make calls, called my wife like a dozen times in a minute. It only stopped after resetting and setting up as a new watch. Just about an hour ago, it started to do it again. I tried googling the issue but could only find stuff about calling emergency numbers. Just curious if anyone has seen this issue before. Guessing I'll need to take it to the Apple store, luckily I have AppleCare. [link] [comments]
AW podcast app: How to select a downloaded episode? Posted: 03 May 2019 04:14 PM PDT Is the usability of the podcast app only feasible for AW cellular or streaming from iPhone? I'd love to be able to select a podcast that I've downloaded onto my AW4 (non cellular) and then leave my phone behind to go for a run, but I can't differentiate between episodes that have downloaded to the watch vs episodes that have not downloaded but are still listed in the episodes view of the podcasts watch app. I'd like to select an episode that I KNOW has downloaded to the watch and then go for a run...but instead what ends up happening is me having to make anywhere from 5 to 20 attempts at selecting a podcast episode after episode until I've actually found one that actually resides on the watch. Am I doing something wrong in regard to workflow? It seems to me the usability and design of this podcast app did not take the non-cellular version of the AW into consideration. Calls through 3rd party apps? Viber number? Posted: 03 May 2019 11:50 AM PDT Hi, is there any way to make a call through 3rd party apps from an apple watch to another person that is not on ios ecosystem? It is mostly for making calls over sea so data is applied instead of minutes For example: we currently use whatsapp to make calls but we can't make a call through the apple watch. Are there any app other than the native call function that is allow to make calls on an apple watch? If I grab a viber number with a state phone number, can the person with apple watch then make a call regularly via the watch while the receiver uses viber? Thanks a bunch [link] [comments] |
