    Welcome to our weekly stickied App thread! This is a new idea so please feel free to offer your feedback about this thread or the subreddit in general in the comments. As usual if you have a serious issue with the subreddit please contact the moderators directly.

    This thread is intended to help members of the /r/iphone community get informed about new apps that are out there. App developers may also use this thread to make users aware that their new app exists.

    Please sort comments by 'new' to find questions/information that would otherwise be buried.

    In this thread you can ask any iOS app related question that you may have. Anyone may offer advice on any issue.

    Two examples of potential questions could be; "How do I learn to code an app?", or "How is app pricing determined?"

    Developers, please include as much information about your app as possible, including size, price, release info, and anything else people request.

    We also have an official Discord Server you can join if you would like to discuss topic related to apps with other members of this sub.

    Finally, please stick to reddiquette and keep your comments on topic and substantive. Thanks for participating.

    Accidentally came across this just now:

    When browsing on safari, tapping a link with two fingers automatically opens it in a new tab.

    It may be well known, but I have been a longtime user and just found out - might be the case with others!

    Use the FaceTime photo button to get a clearer picture of what someone is trying to show you.

    When on a FaceTime call with a poor connection, pressing the circular snapshot button takes a photo from the other persons phone vs just taking a screen shot of what you're seeing. Doing this allows you to get a better picture of what someone might be trying to show you.

    Using NFC with iPhone?

    Hello all! I recently switched over to an iPhone XR and I'm still getting used to all the features and functionality. I wanted to talk a bit about NFC and just using it to connect to my headphones (Sony h.ear MBD-100ABN).

    I can't seem to find NFC in the settings app, and when I place the iPhone over the chip on the headset, nothing happens. On an Android, I connected instantly once I found the sweet spot.

    Do I need to activate NFC or enable device connectivity? The headset connects just fine the old fashioned way with holding the power button until the light flashes and so on.

    Any help or tips you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

    Sorry if this doesn't fit the subreddit. I'll take it down if it doesn't. I'm upgrading from the 6 to the XS, and since the XS can be dunked in water, and I'm tired of ugly lifeproof cases, I'm going to get a cute case and a screen protector. I shatter phones constantly, even in the lifeproof, so what's the best option for a screen cover? (I also think I'm getting phone insurance.)

    iOS 12.2 update killed my apple pay, help!

    I just upgraded to iOS 12.2 on my iPhone6s+, and apparently it killed my apple pay feature! I see the dreaded `Apple Pay Not Available on this iPhone" message. Apple Pay worked perfectly fine prior to the update.

    Last night I re-installed iOS 12.2 using my Mac, as suggested by others and Apple's help page, but after rebooting, I am seeing the same error message!

    Did this upgrade fry my NFC chip as others have mentioned??? I am going to the apple store today to have them take look. Unfortunately my phone is out of warranty (not too long, purchased from Apple). Everything else works fine. What are my options if they can't fix it and won't offer an exchange?

    XR battery question

    So everyone says that the XR battery is so good, so I have a question. Today I started with 100% battery and then after I used it for 1 hour and 23 minutes it's at 76% is that normal? I mean I think that is still good but not as crazy good as everyone says

    Does screen time and tape to wake/unlock standby use significant battery life?

    Have y'all tried toggling these options?

    Also, how about using the phone with full brightness. Does full brightness use significantly more battery than let's say 50% brightness?
