| Dilemma: Spotify vs. Apple Music Posted: 30 Apr 2019 02:06 AM PDT Hi! You who have already used one or the other streaming service, I have a little dilemma. I have 2 options and I don't know which one to choose yet: 1) Thanks to a family subscription, I will be able to get Spotify for 3 euros/month. That is, 36 euros/year. It's a great offer I find for the price. I like Spotify for its recommendations which are apparently better than Apple Music. EXCEPT that there is a counterpart. By taking this offer, I will not be able to use Spotify on my Apple Watch without an iPhone. That is, when I go running (once or twice a week) because there is not offline playback (May be this improvement will come soon). 2) Take Apple Music to access my music on my Apple Watch without an iPhone. EXCEPT that in return, this means paying 9.99 euros/month or 120 euros/year. On the one hand, I pay 3 times less but I can't use it without an iPhone, on the other hand, I pay 3 times more and can use it. Honestly, the money saved makes me avoid it. I could just put a local playlist on my Apple Watch to run and do the rest with Spotify. What do you think of that? What would you do in my place? Option 1 or 2? Thank you! [link] [comments]  | ||

I'm not using my iPad at all when I'm working out, only have my phone and watch and I can't figure out how to have it just say "Sarah finished a workout" I've tried numerous times to go into the setting and privacy setting to fix the issue but I can't figure out how to not register my watch from reading "Sarah's iPad" when I finish a workout. | Cannot open *any* 3rd party apps on my Apple Watch Posted: 30 Apr 2019 07:46 AM PDT I've got two watches - one a 3rd gen cellular model and one a 4th gen standard. Neither of them can launch almost all 3rd party apps. They flash open for less than a second and close instantly. I am, I should admit, running beta iOS and watchOS (both on latest versions). Is this something others are seeing? It been on and off like this for a year now and I'm finally over it. I've reset, restored the watch. Removed the apps. And finally reset and then added the watch again from scratch. Reinstalled the apps. Still crashes instantly. Many thanks! [link] [comments]  | ||

Started out just leaving my phone on charge when I went for a walk, but now I am quite happy to go a full day without it. When a generation of the Apple Watch releases that doesn't need to be be tethered to a phone I will be quite happy to not have one. Just wondering how many others feel the same? | Losing app notifications when switching watch orientation to Digital Crown on Left Side (S3) Posted: 30 Apr 2019 07:09 AM PDT I have a Series 3 that I wear on my left hand. A few weeks ago, I decided to turn my watch upside down and change display orientation because I find it more comfortable when working out (I would accidentally press the crown when bending my wrist backwards on some movements). After that, I didn't bother changing my display back. A few days later, I noticed that I wasn't receiving any notification on my watch, but directly to my phone. I panicked a bit and did the routine mumbo jumbo : update and reset both device and even factory reset my watch. Nothing changed. I eventually decided to change the display back and guess what? Everything went back to normal! Is this intended? I flip displays when I workout and than back to normal for the rest of the day. Ain't a big problem, but definitely doesn't feel right. It was the older Alta HR 2 which they don't make anymore and the new versions are just getting bigger and bigger so to me I might as well get a full on smart watch. | Apple wanting to charge for repairing swollen battery issue on a S0 Watch Posted: 30 Apr 2019 05:27 AM PDT So a month or so ago my wife's S0 Apple Watch had the front glass come off due to a swollen battery and Apple replaced it with an equivalent S0 free of cost. Last night my S0 had the exact same issue, so I assumed it would be the same resolution. But apparently Apple won't do a free repair/ replacement on swollen watch batteries if it's more then 3 years past the purchase date (mine is a couple of months over 3 years). They want to charge me an out of warranty repair fee of £192, which is insane to spend on this watch. I was just hoping this would last till the S5 comes out and I'd buy that. Is there any point in fighting Apple on this or should I just write it off to bad luck and buy myself a S4? [link] [comments]  | ||

I have been trying to use the under armour record but the calories counter is way off, and Ive tried several things to fix it, but its still not fixed. Ive read that Gymaholic is one of the top tier but I don't really need the app tell me how to do an excercise. lately Ive got my eyes on the gymatic, but also not hearing good things about it. but I still wanna try it. have u guys used gymatic? and could u please share your expierience with it? as I'm doubting. care to help me out!? much apreciated! thanks ^^ [link] [comments]  | ||

| Paint peeling on my Moms Apple watch 4 she got a couple months ago Posted: 29 Apr 2019 05:09 PM PDT Hey guys, my Mom got an Apple watch 4 a couple months back and didn't buy apple care for it. Yesterday she felt that she had a rash on her wrist and removed the watch to look at it and saw that the paint was peeling (she's allergic to certain metals so the paint peeling off exposed her skin to it). Is this a defect in the watch? Would it be returnable? Would she be able to buy apple care, crack the screen and swap it out? She takes very good care of it. We think it might've peeled from the heat of wearing it while cooking but I've worn my apple watch 2 in worse conditions and there's no paint peeling. Has anyone else had this problem? My watch charged for most of the weekend as I was away and forgot to bring it with me. Today at 3:25pm I only have 2% battery left. When I came to work I had 100%. Normal usage (which means just glancing at notifications). Every other day at this time of day I have at least 60% battery left so this is incredibly odd! | Posted: 29 Apr 2019 11:06 AM PDT A big guy with big hands, I was having a devil of a time trying to use my fingernail to depress that tiny button in order to remove the watch strap. Got to thinking that Apple would hopefully never design something to be this clumsy...and they have not. Upon careful examination I find you barely have to depress that tiny "button" to allow the watch band to slip right out. There is no necessity to try and depress it using your fingernail.
