- TRYING to update Pages because a customer sent me a file made with a newer version. It keeps telling me the Apple ID doesn't work. WTF? IT'S FREE.
- My iPod touch 5th generation that I have owned or over 6 years won't turn on. It goes to the apple logo and then shuts off. The iPod does however goes into the apple recovery mode. Can someone help me get my iPod working again/ give me an idea on what may be the problem?

I'm working on an audio project right now, and I intended to use some sounds—including keyboard typing and specific app messaging noises—but I've been stumped by the screen record function. I can capture internal audio in almost all cases (YouTube, music, etc.) and consistently in all recordings EXCEPT the sounds I need; I assume this is an intentional decision by Apple, and I understand why if so, but is there a way to circumvent it? (The typing sound is a sample I can find elsewhere, but the app messaging noises are unique and I can't find them on a soundboard anywhere, so that's the real money for me.) [link] [comments]  |

So I've wanted to update a few apps I have, but when I press the "Update All" button, a box requesting me to view Apple's new media services terms and conditions shows up, so I press on "ok", it leads me to the Terms and Conditions pages, so I click "accept", I thought it was all over until the same box popped up again requesting me to view the same thing, I review the terms again and accept it, but the box continues to appear, rendering me unable to download and update any app. [link] [comments]  |

I saw someone warn about their cable burning and almost causing a fire, but they couldn't be sure if it was a knock-off one. | Can’t accept Terms and Conditions Posted: 24 Apr 2019 09:10 PM PDT iPad Model: IPad Mini 4 IOS: 11.4.1 So, whenever I try to download or update an app, it asks me to read the new terms and conditions before downloading, I do (well pretty much skip over the whole thing) and click I accept. I then click "I accept again." However, the app still won't download, and if I try again, it prompts the same message. Have done this ~10 times already. Help? [link] [comments]  |
| Trying to get a large PDF from iPhone (iBooks) to my PC. Posted: 24 Apr 2019 09:01 PM PDT It's too large for direct email, mail drop didn't seem to work or maybe I just don't know how to use it, to big to upload to Google Drive, and I don't have iCloud Drive (and not willing to buy it). Compressing it would also be a good option but I don't know how to do that. I think it's like 50MB. Right now it's just trapped on my phone and I really want it on my laptop. Thanks! The phone still works as I can receive calls and alert noises but it will not connect to computer, it just does a couple subtle vibrations when connected. I've gone to best buy and ATT and they say they can't fix the screen without restoring the phone and I would like to keep my data as I have some concert videos and other things on there that I hadn't backed up on iTunes yet. | My MacBook Pro is Overworking Posted: 24 Apr 2019 07:40 PM PDT So I opened up my MacBook today with no apps open. Then I opened up safari (which only had one tab, YouTube) and my fan immediately turned on and got loud. It has been going on continuously for the last 2 hours with small variations in levels (at some points it gets quieter and at other points, like right now, it is really loud). This isn't my fan being confused either because my MacBook is actually hot. Does anyone know why this is happening. My computer usually doesn't get loud unless I have multiple big websites open/multiple apps open. Additional info: 13 inch 2017 MacBook Pro 16gb of RAM No touch bar 2.3 ghz with i5 processor If you need any more info please tell me and I'll add it to the post. [link] [comments]  |

| iPhone XR Cracked LCD. Warranty? Posted: 24 Apr 2019 06:51 PM PDT My LCD has a hairline crack going up diagonally from the bottom right hand corner of the screen. I honestly don't recall a specific event that triggered this. The glass is not cracked at all. It has had a tempered glass screen protector and a pretty decent case on it that feels pretty secure to me. Any chance this would be covered by the warranty? Also, no I don't have AppleCare. | How do I get photos back from an iCloud backup? Posted: 24 Apr 2019 06:38 PM PDT I had a no service iPhone 7, and I was told it would be wiped when I got it back after repair. No problem, upgrade iCloud, back up my phone, restore phone, cancel iCloud. But now I have my phone back, photos didn't restore. I had photos switched to on in the iCloud part of settings before I backed it up, the tech at the apple store promised me my photos would be backed up, but I can't figure out how to restore them. I even checked my iCloud, which says I have a backup from April 13th, the day I did all this. How do I restore my photos? She was dealing with her battery (Which she just replaced a few months back) showing an X. It wasn't powering on without being plugged in. Posted: 24 Apr 2019 06:26 PM PDT I'm looking for a little bit of direction here, and I'll provide some background for context. I'm a sysadmin that's been tasked with developing a react/react-native site and mobile app combo with an emphasis on the mobile side of things. Since you can't develop for mobile without targeting iOS, this task necessitates some Apple hardware to develop, test, and publish on. This essentially means that given my job and other circumstances, a MacBook Pro would be a solid candidate for my development environment. Here's my problem; After some light reading on the newer generations of MacBooks, I'm afraid of purchasing a device that seems to be teeming with issues revolving around the single piece of hardware that will see the most use/abuse, which is of course the keyboard. I've read other sources recommending an earlier model (pre-keyboard refresh) like a ~2015 model, but I'd feel a bit weird spending and justifying the company's provided budget on a four year old device. Any advice or sagely wisdom would be welcome. TL;DR: Got a budget, afraid to spend it on something I might have to lug to the Apple store every three months for repair. Need some insight. | Is there a way to alter default Spotlight results? Posted: 24 Apr 2019 04:19 PM PDT I use Spotlight as a launcher a lot. One of the apps that I open frequently but can't keep in my Dock because my machine is primarily for work is Photos. So I like to hit command-space p return to open Photos. Thing is, I have no idea why, but a couple days ago I did that and Photo Booth opened instead. Worse, it seems to have been self-reinforcing and now Photo Booth is the top search result for P or Ph or Photo. I have to either type it all out to the S, or scroll through results. Is there any way to nuke Photo Booth from the results? I don't believe it's possible to just delete the app because it's a system app. [link] [comments]  |
| Best MacBook for visually impaired college student? Posted: 24 Apr 2019 04:09 PM PDT I currently have a 2016 15" MacBook Pro that was granted to me by the Maryland State Department of Education's Division of Rehabilitation Services. Basically, I paid nothing for the computer because (at the time) I was part of a state program for visually impaired students. My vision then improved (so I was removed from the program) but is now getting worse again; once you're removed from the program you can't re-enroll. Anyway, the computer is just too big and heavy for me to continue to lug around in day to day life, so I'm here loooking for something smaller and lighter. When at home, I currently use an Elgato Thunderbolt 3 Dock as well as an LG UltraFine 4K 27" monitor connected via a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter cable, with the laptop in clamshell mode. This enables me to be able to use the computer just like any other sighted person. When not docked at home, I use VoiceOver to assist me in using the computer, since I can't see items on the screen. Essentially, I don't gain anything with the larger screen because I can't see it anyway. It added weight and dimension for no real purpose other than to say "I have an expensive computer." Also, the Touch Bar isn't very usable with VoiceOver, or at least I didn't find it to be easy to use. I'm intrigued by the 12" MacBook and the 13" MacBook Pro (sans Touch Bar), but I'm worried about the lack of third-generation butterfly keyboard and what that means for future reliability. As for the MacBook Air, I've heard bad things about the built-in FaceTime HD camera, and I've heard that the display isn't as good as the one on the MacBook Pro. Noting that my primary uses are research for projects, word processing (Pages and Google Docs), presentation creation (Keynote and Google Slides), some light usage of GarageBand, as well as general web browsing and video streaming (in Safari), along with a fair amount of music playback through iTunes, and also noting that I am selling my not-very-useful 12.9" iPad Pro (which is also too big and heavy for daily use) to help pay for the new computer (can't sell the 15" so I'm giving it to my dad), which MacBook could you recommend for a VoiceOver user?
