Alt-tabbing to a minimized application should forcefully bring the application into view. Posted: 01 Feb 2019 04:37 PM PST The most debilitating feature of macOS is the fact that when I alt tab to an application, it wont appear on the screen if it has previously been minimized. I can not think of a use-case in which you would want an application to remain minimized after alt-tabbing to it. Even if there is such a use-case, it should not be the default. Yes, you can bring the application up by pressing and holding option after releasing the command key -- but is this really what we want as the default? I forget to do it, and then when i press alt tab again, I am already on the application and I need to arrow left and right to bring it up. What are your thoughts? [link] [comments]
How can I permanently delete all macOS iCloud reminders? Posted: 01 Feb 2019 02:12 PM PST I've tried using the icloud web interface and clicking "clear all completed" but unfortunately the reminders are removed, but then they repopulate. If I deleted the contents of ~/Library/Calendars And then cleared the iCloud reminders on the iCloud site and then re-opened macOS reminders Would that likely work? Or would deleting the Calendars folder in Library mess up things? [link] [comments]
Disk Repair error message (Mojave) Posted: 01 Feb 2019 07:29 PM PST Hello. I'm currently experiencing the following "problem" (I say problem because there is no performance issue or something like that): Today I ran disk repair and it gave me the message First Aid found corruption that needs to be repaired. To repair the startup volume, run First Aid from Recovery. Click Done to continue. OK, so I reboot, enter recovery mode, mount the volume and run disk repair only for it to find no error. So I boot normally, run it again and the same error message appears again. Any tips? I notice no software or hardware issues, and I'm running Mojave on a MBP 2014 with filevault enabled. Thank you very much! [link] [comments]
Automator app processes much slower since High Sierra update Posted: 01 Feb 2019 06:48 PM PST Disclaimer: This is a Mac Pro that only I use. I made a few "apps" using Automator and they worked fantastic until I upgraded to High Sierra. Since I'm on a company machine, we do not update to the latest OS right away. An example of an app I created is to basically take all non-folder items within a folder, move it to the main folder and then remove all the sub folders. This process usually only takes about 5 seconds when I was on Sierra, but now it can take up to 30 seconds to 1 minute to complete for the same amount of files. Any suggestions/ ideas? Posted: 01 Feb 2019 04:57 PM PST I use my MBP in closed clamshell mode most of the time, but after the Mojave update it seems to require me to open my built-in display for it to recognize activity at which point I notice its booting up. So for some reason its shutting down after some amount of time after sleep. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Never had this problem before the upgrade to Mojave. [link] [comments]
Mojave and iphone xr imessage? Posted: 01 Feb 2019 02:37 PM PST The sync between iMessage on my Mac and my iPhone isn't working - I followed the usual way but no luck. How do I get it to work? [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Feb 2019 07:32 AM PST I'm trying to back up my media drive to another folder automatically so that when I add something to the media drive, the backup can detect that and automatically back the new files up. Basically maintaining a mirrored copy of the media drive. Is this possible? [link] [comments]
