    Posted: 02 Feb 2019 03:22 AM PST

why can't my iPhone xs ever connect to my apple tv 4k when I'm filling a password field?

the notification pops up on my phone but it just says "connecting" the whole time.

it never connects and I have to open the remote from the control centre.

ATV Remote Less Responsive than iPhone Remote App

    Posted: 01 Feb 2019 10:23 PM PST

Since I purchased ATV 4K, my remote has always been less responsive than my virtual remote app on iPhone.

The iPhone one is so responsive and fluid, while gestures on actual remote sometimes do not register.

Anyone having the same problem? Or is there any setting I might have made wrong?

How does the services compare between dish and direct tv? Are there certain channels that I could log in to and have more content with one but not the other?

“How to train your dragon” 4K?

    Posted: 01 Feb 2019 12:55 PM PST

Does anyone have "How to train your dragon" in 4K? I purchased it years ago in iTunes (not MA transfer) and cheapcharts says it was upgraded and it's listed in iTunes in the 4K area but I only have HD. Just don't want to contact support if it was never posted or pulled.

Apple TV 3rd generation AirPlay randomly stops

    Posted: 01 Feb 2019 03:58 PM PST

I will be playing music on the Apple TV via AirPlay. Once every few hours the music will stop and the AirPlay icon in iTunes is orange. The computer running iTunes and the Apple TV are both connected to the network by ethernet. Does anyone else have this issue?

Directing audio and video from MBP separately to ATV4K & HomePod

    Posted: 01 Feb 2019 01:56 PM PST

I have a MacBook and I want to AirPlay video to my Apple TV 4K but I want the audio to play on my HomePod. So far I have no luck doing so. Is this just impossible or what?

Wasn't sure which subreddit I should've post this in but here goes nothing, thanks!

Do I need an Apple TV to stream 4K from iTunes?

    Posted: 01 Feb 2019 01:17 PM PST

I used iTunes for the first time today because I had to watch Frozen as a school project. I saw that there were plenty of upscaled movies that could be watched in 4k resolution if you owned an Apple TV.

As I already have my computer connected to a 4K TV as a second monitor it seems bizarre to say the least that I should need another device to stream 4K from iTunes.

I'm interested in watching movies in higher resolutions and I would be willing to pay for it, so why can't I just stream 4K without an Apple TV? I understand that Apple want to sell as many products as possible but I would never buy a (for me mostly useless) gadget for such a small purpose.
