9.7 Pro owners who upgraded to the new iPad Pros, was it worth the upgrade? What size did you end up going with and what do you use it for?

Really tempted to purchase a new iPad Pro. Wanted to get some thoughts of the 9.7 owners who recently upgraded.

How do you like the 3rd gen keyboard folio?

    Posted: 01 Feb 2019 11:58 AM PST

I had the previous gen one and returned it due to not liking the rear fold. Other than that, I really liked the keyboard. This latest one looks to have a solid flat back which I like. It also looks to be sold out everywhere which makes me think that it's a hit. I don't recall there being stock issues with the last one.

Anyway, how are you liking the new generation?

People who have upgraded from the previous 10.5 iPad Pro to the newer one; is it worth it?

    Posted: 01 Feb 2019 02:17 PM PST

I have a 10.5 iPad Pro from 2017 and I love it. I don't plan on upgrading and use it for nursing school with Notability on a daily basis with the Apple Pencil and a Bluetooth keyboard. Anyone who has upgraded to the newer model, is it actually worth it? What difference do you notice and what do you do with it? Thanks!

iPad Pro 10.5 case, Smart Keyboard compatible - can’t find one anywhere!

    Posted: 01 Feb 2019 03:23 AM PST

    Hello,

I don't know if I'm posting in the correct subreddit, apologies if not.

I have a problem with finding a case for my Pro 10.5, that would be Smart Keyboard compatible. I was looking for one that would match the colours of the keyboard, and be made of a similar material on the outside, without any logos or cutouts. Tried looking on amazon and eBay, didn't find much, do you guys know of any websites or places that would sell such cases? Maybe you have links to amazon items? Based in UK. Thanks in advance.

USB c cables with thin connectors

    Posted: 01 Feb 2019 08:36 AM PST

Hi Reddit. I'm looking for USB C cables both C-C & A-C that have thin connectors. I normally use Anker cables but their connectors are too fat for my Otterbox case (which I love) & damage it. The Apple cables fit but I'd prefer not to pay Apple prices for a bunch of cables. I will if I have to but would prefer not.

Can anyone recommend cables that have a connector with as slim a profile as the Apple ones?

Using iPad Pro as PC replacement

    Posted: 01 Feb 2019 11:16 AM PST

As someone who often works on the go or off-site, is it reasonable at all to use an iPad Pro as a Surgace Pro 3 (Core i3) replacement full time? I heavily use PDFs, word, and excel which I can do on my iPad Pro with a keyboard (before I just used it to read books and watch video streaming)

Tasks I cannot do that I need are running stats software (r, stata, gauss) and using endnote in conjunction with word. Currently coping with a Surface 3 (Intel Atom) and if heavy processing power needed I run this on my office workstation. I'm trying to justify not buying a new notebook to carry around all the time.

Should I get a refurbished Ipad or a completely new one?

    Posted: 31 Jan 2019 05:49 PM PST

About 3 days ago, my ipad, which was probably around 4 or 5 years old, completely shattered. There was no screen protector or case on it because the old case clogged up the speakers and port with filth, so I just took it off and decided it wasn't really worth shelling out some $15 on such an old thing.

So anyways, I wasn't terribly disappointed with this incident, seeing as it wasn't of much importance and it was old anyways, it was more for just playing games and keeping in touch with a Kik friend.

My birthday is in March, so I figured I'd get a new ipad for myself then, but I'd like some opinions on whether I should go for a refurbished ipad (mini, preferably), or a completely new one.

    Sorry for the ramble.

    Split Screen/Multitasking Question

    Posted: 31 Jan 2019 09:40 PM PST

I am considering purchasing the latest iPad Pro for personal use and I also plan to use it while driving for Uber/Lyft.

My question is does split screen multitasking work with any app? For example, can I have the Uber Driver app open on one side and maybe Google Maps or a music app open on the other half open at the same time? Or does split screen multitasking only work with stock apps?

    Thanks

How well does MyScript Nebo transfer handwriting to text?

    Posted: 31 Jan 2019 03:25 PM PST

I've always liked writing more than typing, but my handwriting isn't that great so i prefer to read typed text. Does this app do a good job of converting handwriting to text, or does it make alot of mistakes? And is the app overall easy to use?
