Moderator Needed! Applications and Quick Rule Update Within!

    Posted: 18 Feb 2019 08:48 PM PST

    Hey there, /r/AppleWatch!

The moderator team has decided to bring another member on board, and as such we have an application form, and once that's passed, an interview period! The application form will only be open for a few days (Friday 19:00 GMT), so if you're interested, please apply quickly or risk losing your shot! The application form is here:

    https://goo.gl/forms/tp8BQyDHw4DWLWv92

    And as for the rule update, we will no longer be allowing posts of just ECG results. As /u/Allnutty put it;

If you have anomalies in your ECG or Heart Rate readings, go see a doctor.

We understand coming to Reddit and asking, but you cannot verify anyone here is a certified doctor. If you are worried enough to post on Reddit, go to a doctor.

We don't want to have to make another rule to capture this, but with a lot of subs (see /r/Wallstreetbets) getting in trouble with advice etc recently, we don't want to end up reading a news article about a user ending up hospitalised because they got the wrong advice here!

To reflect this, we have a new post removal reason including a link to the relevant Apple Support page.

    Thank you and good luck,

    The /r/AppleWatch mod team.

IDEA: Watch Faces Based on Location and Events

    Posted: 19 Feb 2019 07:56 AM PST

-You get to the gym... boom you're in the activity face.

-You get to work.... boom it's your work face.

-You get into bed... boom it's your sleep face.

    How cool would this be?

Looking for a sleep app that shows specific hours (11 pm-7am) not just total number hours

    Posted: 19 Feb 2019 08:04 AM PST

Hi everyone - got a watch for my birthday recently and have been using SleepWatch. As a student, I struggle a bit with keeping early hours and quickly get into bad habits (sleeping in when I don't have class, staying up late studying). I know SleepWatch tracks specific hours, but its visual graph over time just shows total hours, and I would love an app that compares my sleep "schedule" week to week as I tend to get an average 7.5 but am always trying to wake up earlier. Appreciate any help.

Does anyone use the Pillow app and disable access to the microphone? Just curious what your experience with the accuracy of the data without microphone access.

Calendar Watch - New beta available

If I get the GPS version, with NO cellular, can I still text via iMessage on WiFi?

    I'm taking app/complication requests!

    Posted: 18 Feb 2019 02:59 PM PST

I'm a bored iOS dev and I'm itching to make something new, but I'm all out of ideas. Are there any complications you wish you could have that don't currently exist?

EDIT: So far I'm working on the following

    -Battery Complication

    • Will have both iPhone and Watch compatibility to see the battery level of either device

    -Countdown App

    • Select a time/date and see a notification on your home screen that displays the amount of time remaining

    • For faces that support it, the complication will change color as the time gets closer

    -Some sort of temperature complication

    • Will have customization options for "feels like" temp, actual temp, different colors, etc.

Is it possible to use an Apple Watch for ID Card access?

    Posted: 19 Feb 2019 06:19 AM PST

I have an ID badge to scan for access into buildings I work at. Is it possible to use the Apple Watch as a way to scan instead of using my ID? If anyone has any ideas let me know.

    Watch Bands Recomendations

    Posted: 19 Feb 2019 05:02 AM PST

I currently just have the plain black sports band that comes with the watch but I am looking for some recommendations of some of your personal favourites. I have a budget of around £50 but that's just a rough amount. Thanks

Any complications that displace the next two calendar event?

    Posted: 18 Feb 2019 08:24 PM PST

This is my modular set up.

The corners may have space for it. Regular calendar app compilation just shows one event. I liked how the Siri watch face showed more than one but I needed to switch because of the lack of complications on Siri

    Thanks

    Pregnancy mode

    Posted: 18 Feb 2019 10:48 PM PST

Is there such a thing on the Apple Watch? I'm a new user, pregnant, and I wish there could be a "pregnancy mode" so that I don't constantly get notifications about my heart rate.

Having an issue with language on auto replies for workout sharing

    Posted: 18 Feb 2019 05:19 PM PST

Let me preface this with two facts: I am a Norwegian, and live in Norway, however, I like to have my phone + watch on English.

I am having an issue where the language on the auto replies that pop up after a friend I am sharing activities with earns an award or completes a workout. I have two people I am sharing with; One Norwegian friend, and one fellow Redditor from the US. Before I added the guy from the US, the auto replies for my Norwegian friend were in Norwegian, and it stayed like this after I added the American. The auto replies for the American guy were in English, and everything was working fine for a week or so, then they switched. My Norwegian friend gets english auto replies, and the American gets Norwegian ones. How can I fix this? I saw a post of a similar -ish problem on the apple forums, and they said something about the current keyboard they had selected when making the contact, but mine worked fine for over a week, and I didn't touch either contact. I would love to get some insight if anybody understands what's happening or have had this issue as well. Maybe there is a way to manually set the language for each contact? Thanks in advance for any feedback!

    I have an S4 running 5.1.3 and a 7plus running 12.1.4

TL;DR The languages of the auto replies for my two contacts I am sharing activities with switched without me doing anything, and I don't know how to fix it.

force re-sync of old exercise data

    Posted: 18 Feb 2019 04:45 PM PST

About a month ago I was trying to add a missing stand hour (add 1 minute 0 calorie other workout) from when my watch was charging to not miss a streak (don't get me started on these hacks and workarounds from a UI perspective). However, I accidentally added a 12 hour "other" session instead which obviously messed up my exercise minutes and my stand hours.

I deleted the workout but the exercise minutes and stand hours remained. Recently I figured out you could delete the exercise minutes themselves (however you have to delete them one minute at a time ?!?!?! or all at once) - so I deleted the exercise minutes from that day as well.

However all the apps that use my data and the health app itself still seem to use that day in their aggregate statistics (monthly averages, etc). A few 3rd party apps I use still tell me that was my best day for exercise minutes despite being added to my iphone /after/ I deleted everything.

Wondering how to get the health app to recalculate everything based on the manual removal of something from a couple months ago. I tried resetting and repairing the apple watch and that didn't work. Wonder if I have to wipe the iphone itself and resync it?

It seems like exercise minutes from the past are cached somewhere....
