Posted: 04 Feb 2019 06:26 PM PST I have used Windows since I could use a computer (al the way back to Windows 95). I am looking to make the switch to Mac when I get my taxes back (roughly $1k, but I can put back more with it if there's a better option that's a little costly) because I have all Apple products, and I like the idea of having everything connected. There are so many different versions, and I'm at a loss at which one to even consider. I would like to get one that will last me years to come. I have looked at Facebook for used ones locally, Amazon for refurbished and new, and everywhere online at new and refurbished ones. I plan on using it for school work when I get back into school, light photo editing, social media and blogging, maybe light gaming, Netflix, and my vinyl cutting machine. What would be my best option price wise? I don't have to have the top of the line brand new one, but I'd like to get the best bang for my buck. [link] [comments]

Posted: 04 Feb 2019 05:32 PM PST So, I got a new MBP 2018 and I was fooling around trying to migrate from my previous Mac and thought it's be a good idea to just delete the current aped.keychain file and just plug in the old one from my previous laptop and now I cannot log into iTunes. Before that, it kept that that it could not connect to the App Store and after trying a few of the common fixes online I now cannot log in entirely. I've some just about everything I can think of and find online. Any idea on what I should do would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]
Late 2012 macbook pro retina questions. Posted: 04 Feb 2019 08:54 PM PST Hey guys so I recently got a prime condition MacBook Pro late 2012 13" retina. Its running high Sierra. Would it wise to install Mojave? Specs are all factory. 8gb ram. 2.5 core i5. and a SSD, I have a new MacBook with a Touch Bar so this will be my "beater" even though its in prime condition. Posted: 04 Feb 2019 08:40 PM PST Hello all, I am currently looking to purchase a Macbook Pro 13 inch screen, 8gb (128gb), 2.3Ghz. I've used a PC all my life and I love everything about the Mac but I have 2 concerns. Does Word seem to be less responsive on a Mac? Like it will type fine but whenever you backspace, the speed at which it deletes word is noticeably slower than on a PC. The screen hurts my eyes, and I've heard rumors where Mac's are ruining people's eyesight. I'm not shitting on Mac as I am trying to buy one, I just genuinely want opinions on these issues. Thank you. [link] [comments]
Why does chromehelper use 60% of my cpu? Posted: 04 Feb 2019 02:17 PM PST Every time i watch someone stream on twitch, google chrome helper goes nuts. It takesm ore than 60% of my cpu and the laptop fan starts blowing heavy. I'm on a new macbook pro 13 inch 2018 model with touchbar. I feel like a computer that's worth almost 2000 dollars shouldn't have problems watching a twitch channel. Is there something i can do about this? I tried opening it in safari but then it takes around 26% cpu, which is still a lot. [link] [comments]

Purchased new Magsafe charger - improved battery life? Posted: 04 Feb 2019 02:43 PM PST Hoping to get some feedback. I just purchased a new Magsafe 2 charger for my late 2015 Macbook Air. I feel like the charge is holding better? Is this all in my head or is this possible? I also think that my old charger (that had plastic around it as if it was "new") was a counterfeit or possible fake. I bought my Macbook from Gazelle in September 2018 and the charger shit the bed today which doesn't seem right to me. Appreciate your thoughts! [link] [comments]

2012 Macbook Pro dual boot issues Posted: 04 Feb 2019 03:09 PM PST Hello all, sorry if this isnt the place for this. I have a 2012 macbook pro, 15 inch, i7, 16gb 1600mhz ram, 500gb ssd, gtx-650m card, running Mojave. I am trying to set it up to dual boot into Windows 10. My first attempt was just to pop a ssd with windows 10 on it into the unit to see if it worked in w10. It does, but the screen led doesnt turn on so I need a flashlight held close to see the actual screen. I know I can partition the drive easy enough, but my concern is the led, and getting it to ask me which os I want on boot. Any tips? Ty [link] [comments]

Posted: 04 Feb 2019 11:54 AM PST I've got a late 2017 Macbook Pro 15 inch. I (as always) carefully opened the lid and already a crackling noice can be heard, after that I discovered my left speaker sounded dark. I think the speaker for high frequencies broke or something. Is it hardware or software, and can it be fixed? [link] [comments]
