Can I run Rising Storm 2 (steam) on parallels 13 or maybe 14? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 06:50 PM PST I know they support dx11, but is there maybe another reason parallels would choke? I haven't tried 13 or 14 yet, curious if it worth the effort. [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jan 2019 12:39 AM PST Booting normally did not work. Tried fsck-fy and readings reported ok. Disk has "Verified" Smart. I tried reinstalling OS in recovery mode but I'm getting the "40 minutes" to install BS that goes on for 15 hours and no change. IMPORTANT: in recovery mode I cannot access disk utility, whenever I click on disk utility I just get "Loading Disks" but nothing ever loads after waiting 30+ minutes. I'm thinking the only thing I can do is thunderbolt to another Mac but I don't have the cable or another Mac... I have a 1TB external HD that I could backup everything to but I don't know how to do so. I have tried the cp -r method in terminal but I might not be doing it right because every time I try this I get this random readout: https://imgur.com/gallery/cJqh7TB I am pretty sure I have FileVault enabled but I do not know that very long key for it... Even though I think my disk is okay, I have still tried verifying and repairing disk from OS X command line with this video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=p9OYiPeIgVY But I then get a message saying "Usage: disk utility repairVolume".... "Ownership of the affected disk is required." I'm thinking above cause I have FileVault on? Anyways I just want to get my data off my computer if possible with my 1 TB HD external drive that's completely free in some way that doesn't use disk utility via recovery mode. I've reinstalled os before without losing any data and it worked perfectly fine but now since it keeps freezing I'm worried I might have lost things. Hope anyone can help. Thanks in advance... Unable to log in with iCloud account via 2FA on Mavericks Posted: 08 Jan 2019 09:41 PM PST Someone at work is retiring and I've been given her computer to use. It's a 2012 iMac and has only been updated to Mavericks. As you might expect, quite a bit of the software I use is incompatible so I'm trying to update it to Mojave. Here's the issue I'm having. In order to download the Mojave installer, I need to log into my iCloud account. In order to log into my iCloud account, I need to enter the 2FA code sent to my phone. However, Mavericks is too old to support the 2FA verification dialog box, so I get an error when I try to log into my account. Obviously, this creates a paradox that has me stuck unable to log in. Other than creating a bootable flash drive with the Mojave installer (I tried to set one up today but I'm having trouble with it), does anyone have any other ideas? [link] [comments]
mac os mojave app store and iTunes Posted: 08 Jan 2019 11:26 AM PST hi all, i was browsing google for the answer when i stumbled upon this reddit forum, I'm having issues with the app store and iTunes, when click on the icon in my dock, it does one bounce but both don't open at all, i don't know what seems to cause this. I've booted the machine in to safe mode and it seems to be fine if i open it once but then when i close and then re open both app store and iTunes, same issue in safe mode, is anyone else having this issue. if it helps i have a MacBook pro 13 inch 2.8ghz 2014 model. thanks in advance [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Jan 2019 05:34 PM PST Okay I just put in two SSDs and new Ram into my MacBook (2012 era) and when trying to boot up Mojave it said the hard drives can't be in Raid so now I can my computer running two separate drives. Is there a way to now mesh them together? [link] [comments]
Alternatives to Voicemeeter Banana? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 12:52 PM PST Hey guys! I'm looking for any software similar to Banana but for Mac. As a producer, I can actually use Sunflower and GarageBand or Ableton to re-route my mic to my output program (Say, Discord/Skype or simply use it as system input). But the thing is, if I keep those programs running on the background, my CPU usage goes to the fucking roof (they're DAWs). Is there any app that let me process any input live, without the hassle of running a DAW? (Like Banana) [link] [comments]

How to remove dock background on Mojave? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 08:05 AM PST Any way to make the dock background transparent? I've tried cDock which previously worked great on El Captain, but it doesn't work well for me on Mojave. Any alternatives or maybe just some terminal hacks for that? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
