Difficulty updating an old iPad Mini Posted: 11 Jan 2019 01:24 PM PST Hello all, First, apologies if I'm in the wrong sub. Since this affects my phone and my iPad I figured it'd be allowed. I've got an old 16GB iPad mini - it's the first model with a retina screen - and I've gotten myself into a pickle with it. The messages app on it is huge due to it being linked with my phone, and so I am effectively prevented from doing any updates to the device because I can't delete anything else to make room. I don't want to delete my messages from the app since they'll disappear on my phone as well, and whatever iOS update allows me to un-link the account and delete messages without affecting my phone is ahead of the version I have. (And the messages app is so bloated I don't have room to update, etc etc etc...) I was thinking about just unlinking the account, wiping the device, and then starting over, but I didn't know if that would work. Will I be able to update the device to a newer iOS before linking my account? Since pretty much all I really want on the iPad anyway is a browser, Feedly, an e-reader app, and Netflix/Hulu/etc, should I just wipe it and create a new account for that device? I'm not worried about paying for [whatever game] twice because I don't game on the thing anyway. I just want a browser/reader/ movie thing that's bigger than my phone. Or: is there another option I'm not thinking of? Thanks in advance for any assistance! [link] [comments] |
Lightning to 3.5mm cable not working. Posted: 11 Jan 2019 03:45 PM PST It doesn't tell me that it isn't recognized and data and charging work perfectly fine otherwise. I also know that the adapter is fine because it works with my other Idevice. Am I missing something or does the USB port simply not work for music but is fine for everything else? [link] [comments] |
Can I transfer everything but my settings to new iPhone Posted: 11 Jan 2019 03:18 PM PST Hi All, I'm just about to recieve my new iPhone XS Max and want to transfer all my data (mainly contacts and photos) over to my new phone. However one night when I wasn't entirely sober I activated screentime with a password that I can't remember. So essentially I want to be able to transfer all of my data without transfering the screen time restrictions. Any help would be greatly appreciated :) [link] [comments] |
Can I turn off junk email sorting? Posted: 11 Jan 2019 12:40 PM PST In the iPhone mail app I don't want it to put junk emails in a separate folder. I just want everything in one place so that I don't lose emails. Is there a way to turn off the junk folder? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
How would screen foil look on iPhone with micro scratches? Posted: 11 Jan 2019 03:07 AM PST I have few micro scrathes and I'm wondering if foil would cover them? Or woul there be a bubble on the place of scratch? [link] [comments] |
Xr unrecognized by Google. Now I can't use any Google apps Posted: 11 Jan 2019 08:31 AM PST So i have a new xr. It's been a couple days. Today I got an notification of a sign in location from an unrecognized source (via Gmail desktop notifications) so I changedy password . now my xr is seemingly blocked from all things Google. For the record. Before I changed my password I saw that iPhone was a recognized device, not thinking that xr is labeled different. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 11 Jan 2019 02:13 AM PST I'm looking to use the limited time trade in deal to give in my iphone 6 to save money on the XR, but as the iphone 6 has a cracked screen, I was wondering if that will impact the amount of money i will save on the price. (Edit: https://www.apple.com/ae/trade-in/ link to the trade in deal.) [link] [comments] |
