We shot a music video using iPhone X Posted: 14 Jan 2019 07:12 AM PST Backstory: We had location for the music video locked in, as well as an Red Epic camera. Two days before the shoot there became an issue with the Red we were renting, and to make things worse, we found out the location we were shooting had power issues that couldn't handle the amount needed for the high wattage washes we planned on using. So we began scrambling with less than 48 hours to find a solution of a camera that would work well for our treatment, in low light. We ended up shooting with n iPhone X, which allowed us to be a bit more mobile and introduce more movement. Though it caught a bit of digital dirt, it worked really well in the low light environment. With a gimbal and some lenses the iPhone X helped us shoot a video that looks HUGE. We're pretty excited with how it turned out, and as iPhone X lovers I wanted to share it with you and get your thoughts on it. You can see the video here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ih3P7W9rV3o [link] [comments]
Phone made a random call at 4am Posted: 14 Jan 2019 05:09 AM PST Title pretty much says in all. I woke up this morning to a curious couple messages from a girl claiming I'd called at 4am. I denied it, since I was asleep by about 1 but she proved it with a screenshot and in my call history apparently I did call at 4am. That's shouldn't be possible so.... can anyone help? Why did this happen? [link] [comments]
How to "password lock" any app on your iphone -- neat trick Posted: 14 Jan 2019 09:18 AM PST So I kinda figured out how to "trick" your iPhone into passcode locking any app that you choose (If this has been here before, sorry, I had no idea, please remind me so I can include it here). The trick is pretty easy, you basically just fiddle around with screen time to basically lock only your desired apps. How to: Now the apps you have "locked" should be slightly greyed on the home screen with a little hourglass at the beginning of their names. And now when you click on them, you have to enter a password to unlock them either for 15minutes, 1hour or a whole day. So far it seems these time limits cannot be adjusted to your own personal liking. That is one of the reasons this isn't really a full-fledged app lock feature but just a small neat trick. Keep in mind that if you lock photos (or any similiar app) all the other apps that have permission to access the Photos app will see whats inside of them, f.e. Messenger -> send photo will not require you to input the passcode for access. [link] [comments]
iOS 12 & Microsoft Exchange: Best way to receive notifications from different rules? Posted: 14 Jan 2019 07:51 AM PST Hey all, I've been scouring the internet for a bit for the best way to handle an issue such as this, so I wanted to get some advice. I've been issued a company iPhone, and it has been synchronized with my mailbox. Due to the amount of emails I receive regularly, I have many rules that organize emails based on the sender. The problem with that is it means I don't receive notifications on my iPhone that I've received an email from these people. I've temporarily created a rule that makes a "Copy" of an email and places it in a folder called iPhone, and then set the iPhone to synchronize that folder. Unfortunately this is causing other problems in Outlook as I now receive duplicates of every email inside the "Unread" favorite, which I rely heavily upon. Any suggestions on the proper configuration? Thanks! [link] [comments]

Bought a MDM/supervised iPhone. Do I need to worry about it becoming locked, or is it safe to use? Posted: 14 Jan 2019 07:40 AM PST I tried using Swappa for the first time a month or so ago and bought a used iPhone SE because I needed a cheap replacement phone. The phone arrived quickly and in great condition, but the other day I noticed that the user settings show it's managed by an international chemical company. I tried factory resetting the phone thinking it would get rid of any of the previous owner's information (I'm new to iPhones), but this only resulted in me being stuck during setup when it forced me to enter the iCloud information of the company that previously owned it. I managed to find a way around the MDM lock, which was a huge pain, but now I'm worried whether or not I have a bunk device. What should I do in this situation? Should I call the company that used to own it and check if it's stolen, or should I continue to use this phone? Is it normal for these company phones to end up on the used marketplace? I'm mostly worried about whether or not the company in question can remotely render my device unusable or not. Any input would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]
iPhone X battery down 4% in 2 weeks Posted: 14 Jan 2019 07:24 AM PST I got an iPhone X 2 weeks ago and the first thing I did was check battery health the battery was at 96% and I checked this morning and it is down to 92%. Is battery health accurate? I only wireless charge since I have one sitting on my desk and charge it when I go to sleep. Is there anything else that can cause this? [link] [comments]

Looking for iPhone XS clear case. Posted: 14 Jan 2019 06:36 AM PST I'm looking for a clear case for my new iPhone XS but am having trouble cause almost all are for the iPhone X and I know it won't fit just right. In terms of protection I'm not one to really drop my phone so I suppose it would be more to prevent and scratches etc that just might occur with use. So keeping the sleekness of the iPhone is what I'm after. Any recommendations? edit: I went and bought a 'Peel' case, thanks everyone for help and recommendations! [link] [comments]

How to unsubscribe from expired subscription? Posted: 14 Jan 2019 09:18 AM PST There was a shitty app* my relative installed with free trial. The person deleted an app, short after without cancelling. After free trial finished every day phone send notifications about not enough money on credit card to pay for an app. In this time, I was asked about this issue and didn't find cancel subscription button at subscriptions menu. Is there any way of unsubscribing without paying? For a while I deleted credit card info from Apple ID.

Can someone clone your iPhone and text you from your own number? Posted: 14 Jan 2019 09:15 AM PST Is it possible for someone to clone your iPhone and carry on a text conversation that looks like you are texting yourself? A family member is claiming to be communicating this way with a police officer that cloned her phone. I don't know if this is possible and I have a strong suspicion that this other person does not exist. [link] [comments]

Is anyone else having problems with Google Maps? (iPhone XR 12.1.2) Posted: 14 Jan 2019 08:29 AM PST Apple maps never has any remote clue as to where the fuck I'm at, so I decided to download google maps, because I've never had a problem with it. Every time I use it, I've found that it will not update directions unless I unlock my phone and have the app open. How to fix? I can't be looking at my phone 24/7 while driving. I don't have applecare, just sprint insurance. Is it wise to go caseless? Posted: 14 Jan 2019 07:36 AM PST I bought a used phone so I wasn't able to get applecare, however I was able to get sprint insurance. I want to go caseless but the glass kind of scares me. I went caseless on my 6s plus all the time and I'm not really a phone dropper [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 Jan 2019 07:08 AM PST After some time with Google I still can't find a simple EQ app. I'm not looking for audio players with EQ settings (including itunes) but an equalizer that controls all of the audio. Suggestions? [link] [comments]
New apps are rearranging themselves. Posted: 14 Jan 2019 06:30 AM PST I just bought the iPhone XS right after Christmas. I restored it from my old back up. Since then I've downloaded around 6 new apps. They were all on my last page of apps until a few days ago. One of the apps moved to a free spot on my third page. Now this morning I woke up and my new apps are rearranged in alphabetical order. No one else uses my phone so it can't be someone else accidentally moving my apps. Does anyone know why or what causes this? [link] [comments]
Does the "Hide" function in AppStore purchase history delete the app from your account? Posted: 14 Jan 2019 04:06 AM PST When you go to AppStore >>> click on your icon on top right corner >>> Purchased >>> My Purchases, it brings you list of every single app you have ever downloaded since creation of your Apple ID account. If you swipe left, it gives you an option to Hide the app. Is this same as removing the app from the list? [link] [comments] |
