What would make you want to upgrade? Posted: 18 Jan 2019 04:53 AM PST For the first time in many years, I skipped an iPhone release. I have the X and decided not to go for the XS, Max or XR. Usually there is a feature or design change that I really want but not this time. I still enjoy my phone but I'd like to be excited for a new iPhone again. [link] [comments]

Need advice on locking down an iPhone Posted: 18 Jan 2019 07:46 AM PST Hi - I have a 12 year old son with severe autism. He is non verbal and uses a text to speech app on a phone to communicate. We have been using android phones for him but we are about to try an iphone. There are several things I need the iphone to do and I plan on posting them separatly to get (hopfully) the best response from team reddit! He loves to do other things like youtube, listening to music etc. (Don't worry - he has other devices for entertainment), but I need him to reserve the phone (and it's battery) for a single app in the foreground along with location tracking in the background. I also need to keep him from putting the phone in airplane mode or otherise turning off wifi or the cell phone radio. What is the best way to lock down an iPhone so the user cannot get out of a single app or turn off radios? [link] [comments]
Is there any order to how the apps in “Cellular Data” are listed? Posted: 18 Jan 2019 10:06 AM PST I turn most off because I usually have WiFi and if I need something off of WiFi it's usually food or a new app. Every time I need to turn cellular data on for an app it's such a pain with how man I have. Why exactly aren't they listed alphabetically? [link] [comments]

iPhone 7 significantly degraded at 100% capacity Posted: 18 Jan 2019 07:40 AM PST Hello hello, so I just noticed that my iPhone 7, which is about 7 months old, says that the battery's health is significantly degraded which is odd because the maximum capacity is still at 100%. How is this even possible? Here is a screenshot of the battery health. Thanks in advance for your help. [link] [comments]

What I learnt from making an app asking people just one question. Posted: 18 Jan 2019 05:54 AM PST "Who am I" is my first app written in Swift and it just asks the user to either answer the question "Who are you"in their own words or view other peoples answers to the same question. Its obviously a very intimate question to ask so for the 200 + people who have answered already thank you wonderful people! What I have learnt.......
To be honest I am most surprised by how long people spend reading the answers from other users and how un negative the answers have been... Maybe its just a matter of time! I wanted to capture the essence of a gallery within and app and for that reason… the app is completely free, doesn't have any IAP and has no ads ,I know I can't believe it as well! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. It's so cool to see what people have said already and I am looking forward to how people answer and if people get inspiration etc, from other people answers as well. iPhone 7 speaker not so loud anymore Posted: 18 Jan 2019 02:55 AM PST Hello. My battery life is at 70%. I cleaned my speaker grills but my iPhone still doesn't sound as loud as a newer one with 90% battery life. Is it possible that my poor battery life is affecting the sound volume? Or my phone's speaker has broken down. [link] [comments]

Has anybody here tried the Power Support Air Jacket? Posted: 18 Jan 2019 03:01 AM PST I want a clear case that shows my gold XS Max. I got the Spigen Liquid Crystal but I have heard about the Power Support Air Jacket. It is expensive ($35) but offers no branding and seems minimalist. I just worry about the protection with it. Posted: 18 Jan 2019 10:21 AM PST Hello, I have a question about upgrading iPhone or not. This month, me and my family will have paid off our iPhone 6s' that we all got 2 years ago. My question is, should we keep our current iPhones and enjoy the much smaller bill, or should we upgrade to newer iPhones? I'm just not sure if the 6s will be redundant soon. If we did upgrade. It definitely wouldn't be to the X or anything newer than that, probably the 8 most likely. We haven't had any repairs or anything done to our 6s' so they have all the same parts and hardware from 2 years ago. I've noticed that my battery is draining much faster than normal, so I'll probably have to get that replaced if we keep our 6s phones. We do have AppleCare, would it be covered under that or would I still pay? Sorry for so many questions, this is my first iPhone. Thanks for any help! [link] [comments]

Posted: 18 Jan 2019 04:00 AM PST Hi everyone. I own jabra elite 65t. I think they're great earbuds probably better than AirPods. When I use them they're connected with my iPhone XS,but not with my Apple Watch. So when I need to change tracks I have to use the phone. How can I make it happen? Is battery consumption the same if it's connected to one or the other or both? [link] [comments]

iPhone lost by courier on return leg from repair. Find My iPhone disabled. Posted: 18 Jan 2019 09:25 AM PST I had my iPhone X battery replaced. No issues until Apple attempted to ship it back to me. I wasn't in to take the delivery. UKMail didn't leave a card. I contacted UKMail to ask if they could deliver on a weekend, since I couldn't be around on weekdays until EOD. They said no, after three unsuccessful attempts, the parcel would be sent back to Apple. I would have to make alternative arrangements with them. The following day, I took a day off from work so I could be in to receive the parcel. There was no delivery. The tracking had not been updated since the day before. Last update: 16th January 2019 16:27 We're sorry but we haven't been able to deliver as our driver was unable to gain access to the delivery address Upon calling UKMail again, I was told that there should have been a further update to confirm the parcel had been scanned back into the depot, upon failed delivery attempt. Since there was no such record on the tracking number, the parcel's whereabouts was unknown. The local depot searched, unsuccessfully, to find it. They had no way of knowing whether it was still in the delivery van, or in the depot. I'm suspicious. UKMail seemed to know that it was a high value parcel, as their representative informed me as much over the phone. Factor in the battery caution stickers and Apple's sender address must make for an interesting box. Apple have agreed to open an investigation. UKMail is making them wait 3 business days to allow for the eventuality that it shows up. Since this was an Apple repair, I disabled Find My iPhone. Are there any immediate actions I can take to prevent someone from using the phone, should it indeed be stolen? [link] [comments] |
