    We have also decided that doing a banner contest every two months is too often. Most subreddits don't change banners for ages and we're hardly having any submissions as it is currently, so after a discussion on this, we've decided that future banner contests will be one every 4 months, with the exception on a temporary banner for special occasions such as Christmas.

    [RELEASE] Sileo Compatibility Layer! Install Sileo on unc0ver!

    Hey r/jailbreak!

    You can now install Sileo on unc0ver from my repo, https://samgisaninja.github.io.

    This is compatible with all versions Sileo works with, and comes in the form of two (well, really three) packages:* Sillyo Installer — downloads and installs Sileo (beta) [unc0ver] to your device *Sileo Compatibility Layer — resolves Cydia "duplicate sources" error, provides package information to Sileo, fixes Sileo's "Restart SpringBoard" button so that it doesn't depend on electra's tweak injector, and fixes a Sileo "Area Denied" issue with giveMeRoot.

    *Sileo (beta) [unc0ver] — official Sileo, directly from the electra repo, the ONLY modifications made are: the name is changed to say "[unc0ver]", changes the dpkg dependencies to depend on Elucubratus APT instead of Electra APT, and it installs the Elucubratus repo as a default.

    HOW TO INSTALL: 1. Add my repo, https://samgisaninja.github.io (if you're on a jailbroken device you can click here to add it automatically) 2. Install Sileo for unc0ver (This will automatically queue Compatibility Layer for install) 3. Install your favorite Terminal client (I prefer MTerminal from the Elucubratus/Bingner repo) 4. Open it and type su 5. The password is "alpine" without the quotes, unless you changed it 6. Type sillyo 7. Sileo will be automatically installed

    I'll style the rest of this post as Q and A

    Important: about shared sources between cydia and Sileo:

    Sileo Compatibility Layer shares your sources between Cydia and Sileo, however, Cydia is unable to remove sources added in Sileo, and Sileo is unable to remove sources added in Cydia. Keep this in mind when you're trying to remove sources.

    Q: Is this officially supported by the Electra Team? A: Do not ask them for support with Sileo on unc0ver. They have made it very clear that although they don't oppose Sileo Compatibility Layer, they will not be adding support for any other jailbreaks until it is out of beta testing. I repeat, DO NOT contact @SileoSupport on twitter or any Electra team member for support with Sileo on unc0ver

    Q: Why are three packages required/why doesn't this work natively/why do I have to type into a Terminal to install this?A: Sileo uses a version of APT that cydia does not support (this is why electra's cydia is patched to work, and why saurik doesn't support it), so Sileo Compatibility Layer is a tweak to provide support for Sileo without changing APT. In addition, I've also resolved some bugs that annoyed me when installing Sileo. The reason Sillyo Installer exists is to prevent you from having to add the electra repo to unc0ver, where many of the other packages on the electra repo are dangerous for unc0ver. You have to type a terminal command because I can't run this from a postinst script (as dpkg_locked would occur)

    Q: Can I uninstall Cydia Installer or delete Cydia.app?

    A: NO! Since Sileo Compatibility Layer is a substrate tweak, Sileo is unable to (re/un)install packages in safe mode (sorry, that's all I can do about it for now), so you need to leave cydia installed as a fallback in case you get stuck in safe mode.

    Q: Why am I getting a 404 error in Sileo every time I refresh my sources?

    A: Most repos use a simple file structure of Packages/Release directories, however, not all use the same, standard format. Sileo does not yet have support for more complex formats. Notable repos that Sileo does not support are: BigBoss (it only supports Coolstar's repo uncluttered version of bigboss, https://repounclutter.coolstar.org), ModMyi, ZodTTD/Macciti, Cydia Substrate Beta, June's iPhone, and unlimapps.

    Q: If Sileo is updated, will that update be available to me immediately?

    A: No, I have to manually update the installer. I can't guarantee this, but I think I won't ever take longer than 72 hours. If youre reading this in the future, and there's a Sileo update available, trust me, I know about it, just wait, I'll update everyone soon enough.

    The white/black screen on first launch issue: Sileo is not broken, it's just lagging because you have a massive source list. Sileo does eventually load and shouldn't take that long in the future. This is probably why the electra team recommended not batch adding sources. Oops. I'll work on a fix tomorrow.

    Introducing Harpy: the best way to control your local network. Harpy allows the ability to block users from accessing the internet on your local network and on your personal hotspot.

    Features include:

    • Listing all of the devices on network along with their Mac addresses and hostnames when available.

    • Blocking devices on local network

    • Blocking devices on WiFi hotspot

    • Dark theme

    Please do not use this for malicious intent. I am not liable for anything you do with this software.

    Harpy was built for unc0ver, as electra doesn't have all of the binaries required to run correctly. That being said if you have any suggestion on getting it working on electra let me know and I will do my best to implement it.

    Harpy utilizes pfctl, and includes a custom pf.conf which will overwrite any existing configs. If you are using pfctl please create a backup of your configuration before installing harpy.

    Planned features: naming the individual devices More themes

    Harpy is available on the chariz repo for $1.50

    Any way to have the option to swipe on a song to remove it from a current playlist on Spotify? The only way to do it now is to scroll to the top and hit edit to remove any songs. This is a pain when you have tons of songs on the playlist.

    [Help] Serious Battery Drain, unc0ver

    For a very long time I have been experiencing excessive amounts of battery drain and overheating, even while my phone is locked in my pocket, or overnight. For example, my phone had been running out from almost full charge and being fully dead by the time I get home from school (I don't use my phone at school, it is barely switched on). It becomes really hot in my pocket and I check to find an extremely low battery despite not using my phone at all. I do not experience any of this when I am not jailbroken.

    My phone is running 11.3.1 and I am using the unc0ver jailbreak. I wouldn't say I have an excessive amount of tweaks and as far as I am aware nothing that should cause draining issues like this.

    It's definitely related to the SpringBoard, as you can see in this photo; excessive CPU usage

    If anyone could take a look at my tweaks and see if there's anything unusual or any specific tweaks related to SpringBoard that could be using too much CPU usage, it would be greatly appreciated.

    [Request] BTStack Alternative iOS 11+

    So I bought a new NX Pro Controller and it supports Bluetooth, and I really want to play on my phone, and I remember doing this on iOS 9, and that was really fun. All I'm saying is that if someone made a BTStack iOS 11+ Alternative i'd pay more than 5$ for it... A lot of people have DualShock controller as well (I also have some), and since you can mirror iOS to appleTV, it would be ideal using a controller. Heck, some games even support 1 device co-op using 2 controllers!

    [QUESTION] so what exactly is wrong with Electra

    I saw someone on here say it's not being signed (mtpc) and use vfs I tried both for a week and a couple days and nothing's working... do I have to wait for anything specific to happen or just keep trying and hope one day it'll let me re jailbreak ? This happens like once a month

    [Help] I don’t know which tweak is doing this to my PS App. I know it’s a tweak since the app fixes itself back to normal when in a non jailbroken state. It’s annoying and bugs out the app. Thanks.

    [Help] Every Tweak I want to install requires also to install libSparkAppList again even though it’s installed already. Deleting tweaks also depend on it. How do I resolve this please?

    When I'm on the phone AND using maps, clicking the green tab up top on the status bar prioritizes returning to the phone call. This is useless to me. I would like the default to reopen the maps instead. Seeing my route is way more important than activating speakerphone. Is there a way to change which app gets priority? Thanks.
