[Prediction] iOS 13 introduces 'Dark Mode' but it's implemented with dark grays; therefore the community pleas for 'True Dark Mode' for the next 10 years

    Posted: 15 Jan 2019 07:48 AM PST

My gut tells me Apple would implement Dark Mode with dark gray backgrounds and so on because its arguably easier on the eyes. I think there will always be folks who disagree with the implementation (reason why apps like Reddit offer 'Night' and 'AMOLED Night') and instead desire pure black to take advantage of turning pixels completely off.

Edit: I'm doubling down on this prediction based on the divide here in the comments, though it does look like 'dark grays' implementation has the lead.

Given the recent discussion on the price of the iPhone, I decided to do some research.

    Posted: 15 Jan 2019 09:56 PM PST

Have a look at this table, if you don't mind.

    Some observations:

    • even with taxes, purchasing power, and average incomes all considered, the iPhone remains more expensive outside of the United States than within.
    • within the United States, the base storage iPhone XS will cost you a fifth of your monthly income, assuming you have an average wage.
    • in Russia, the country with the lowest average salary of those presented, an iPhone will cost you an entire month's salary.

EDIT: people are thinking that I should have used pre-tax prices as the primary figure, or at least used the mean tax figure for each country instead of the lowest. Here's the comparison based on pre-tax prices if that interests you.

I think Apple should do the same. I was fooled by this tactic just yesterday.

Apple, just slap the A12 chip and the camera from the XR into the body of the iPhone 7, and call it SE2.

    Posted: 15 Jan 2019 11:47 PM PST

Add a few colors to differentiate it from the regular 7. Don't change anything else. Don't raise the price, sell it for 449, or even 399 (as you did with the SE when it was originally released with your latest and greatest processor and camera). Discontinue the 7 and the 8.

Apple should do a year end review for activity the way Spotify does it for music.

    Posted: 15 Jan 2019 05:54 AM PST

Obviously you can go into the health app and see averages for the year but I'd like to know totals, I think it would be pretty sweet. I'll have to submit some feedback!

Edit: I mustn't be clear. I mean for ACTIVITY ie the Apple Watch app. Like the circles we complete every day

Lost my airpods, realised how important they were for me in less than 24H.

    Posted: 16 Jan 2019 01:17 AM PST

    - Going to the gym is not the same. Airpods were really really light and comfortable. No wires between me and the dumbells was great.

    - Calling is not the same. Talking and moving everywhere without the need of having the phone in my hands was awesome.

    - The automatic stop and play of a video when wearing off and on the headphones was a great user experience.

One day without this product and I feel really bad. Losing my iPhone would have been less of a pain than losing my Airpods.

    They're so convenient. Enjoy them.
