Why on earth would Apple remove the ability to select text on Messages app? Posted: 13 Jan 2019 02:02 PM PST Makes no sense why they would remove that feature. Now you have to copy the entire message. Why? [link] [comments] |
You should be able to control volume with your airpods. Posted: 13 Jan 2019 09:53 AM PST I can't believe they didn't include this, I've always had the idea of sliding up and down on it to control it. (I'll trade you for SouljaPods) [link] [comments] |
You should be able to include the Apple TV in HomeKit scenes if it is possible for Samsung TVs Posted: 13 Jan 2019 04:02 AM PST If I turn on my Apple TV my sound system and the tv also turn on. It should be possible to include the Apple TV in scenes to control it via Siri and the HomePod... [link] [comments] |
TV iOS app displays full series in the dumbest way Posted: 13 Jan 2019 04:56 PM PST When viewing purchased full series, finding episodes is a huge pain in the rear. It's just a endless horizontal scroll. The office for example, is just a massive scroll of 194 episodes, of which you can't see the full episodes titles nor is it broken down into seasons. All you see is "Season 1, Episode..." To see the full episode title you have to tap on every episode to find the one you're looking for. It's is absolutely bonkers. At least when you buy seasons individually they are displayed and broken down by season. But this is how it looks when you buy the entire series. It sucks so much. Found a fix for a sticking key on my 2017 Macbook Pro Posted: 13 Jan 2019 01:57 PM PST Search not working for me when typing this so don't know if repeated. My "a" key started getting sticky so I assume something got stuck in my pre "condom" butterfly keyboard. I got some dental floss and a butter knife and gently lifted up a corner then threaded the dental floss under the key, I then "flossed" the key and what do you know. aaaaaaaAaAaAaAAAAAAAA Fixed! Apple TV Wish List doesn’t sync with iPhone/iPad/Mac Posted: 13 Jan 2019 11:10 PM PST Tonight I discovered that the Wish List on my Apple TV (4th gen) while browsing the iTunes Movies app doesn't sync with the iTunes Wish List on my iPhone, iPad, or Mac. I hate to say it, but it's yet another sign that Apple's attention to detail is steadily going to shit. I happily live in Apple's walled garden because it makes things so convenient. I can pick something up on any device and it just works… right? Not this. Anyways, would be greatly appreciated if we could flood them with requests to fix this. Feels more like an oversight than a deliberate decision. [link] [comments] |
Anyone who’s replaced their MBP w/Touchbar keyboard under Apple Quality Service? Posted: 14 Jan 2019 01:46 AM PST My keyboard's been acting up for more than a year, so since I know Apple is servicing them for free, I contacted my Apple Store for a replacement. They told me they're gonna keep the mac for 6 working days, they will try to clean it first and then they will replace the keyboard if that won't work with another identical keyboard. My question is: will that be the same, flawed keyboard I have now? Will it get dirty for no reason again and will I have to get it cleaned/replaced once more in a year's time, or did Apple fixed their engineering issue? From the store they told me I can only request this service once for free, so if it happens again I'm on my own. [link] [comments] |
The battery widget needs to show more info Posted: 14 Jan 2019 01:17 AM PST The battery widget should be customizable and able to include : * iPhone battery on iPad and vice versa * Apple Pencil battery on the iPhone * Apple Watch battery on the iPad It's annoying not being able to check all my batteries at once, it would be immensely useful if the widget just always showed everything. Apple + Video Game Enthusiasts: Where do you game? Posted: 13 Jan 2019 11:56 AM PST With Apple shying away from video games (I am excluding mobile games for the most part), where do you choose to game? Which ecosystem do you feel fits well with your Apple products? I only ask because, as an "Apple guy", I chose Apple because of the ecosystem and the hardware. As gaming falls outside their ecosystem, I am trying to choose between Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo. What's your pick? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 14 Jan 2019 01:47 AM PST Hello, The display for my 15" mid 2015 Macbook Pro stopped working after a drink was spilled over the keyboard. The display is completely without signal but the webcam is still working. I am still able to use the device by connecting it to an external display monitor. The screen was already damaged before the accident Is there any way to troubleshoot this before replacing the display? [link] [comments] |
Apple Pencil 2 support to Adobe Sketch Posted: 13 Jan 2019 03:59 PM PST Just got word from Adobe Mobile saying Adobe Sketch should support AP2 in their next update in a few weeks. I'm surprised it's taken this long. None of my drawing apps have support for AP2 yet, except for Notes. :) [link] [comments] |
What would make me want a new phone Posted: 13 Jan 2019 04:21 PM PST Hi everyone, I am just curious what would make people here genuinely excited to upgrade. I am one of the many folks who are now buying the lower end (read older) iphones as for me, a plain boring consumer there is nothing really "new" I am seeing that matters. Speed is fine, battery is fine. There hasn't been a "wow" feature for me in a while like apple pay/fingerprint, larger screen, thinner etc. I am seeing apple phone sales drop and it just had me thinking what could they come out with that I would even WANT? The phone is great but there hasn't been any real "cool" feature that has gotten me to upgrade in a bit (clearly I am not alone). I want to get excited to see something new but in reality I don't even know what I would want that would get me excited! I feel like they have done everything I can think of that is realistic (I am not a tech genius as you can clearly see). I thought it would be fun to see what would people like to see that isn't available yet but is realistic in the next few years and would be jaw-droppingly cool? [link] [comments] |
AirPower: USB - C or lightning?!? Posted: 13 Jan 2019 03:59 AM PST So I've seen the posts about how AirPower might finally be ready.... But when it does come, do you think it'll be a USB C connector on the mat of lightning? I'm going for USB C, which surely would indicate the next iPhones will be USB C too [link] [comments] |
Is there any way to instantly disable Touch ID on the Mac, like there is on iOS? Posted: 13 Jan 2019 07:06 AM PST So on the iPhone you can instantly disable biometric security on my XS by holding power and volume up for 5 seconds. After that only the 6 digit passcode will let you into the phone. Does the Mac have any quick/similar feature like this, or is the only way to disable Touch ID login to go into settings and turn it off from there? Couldn't find any info on Google about it. Thanks! iPhone suddenly trying to play all of my music from Apple Music Posted: 13 Jan 2019 10:36 PM PST I caved and signed up for the Apple Music trial a few weeks ago while on a long car trip. I turned off auto-renewal and let the free trial run out, but not before downloading a playlist to my phone. I knew the playlist wouldn't work after I let the trial run out, but it never removed itself from my phone. I accidentally started to play that playlist this evening (although none of the songs would play, obviously) and now whenever I try to play any music out of my library, including things I've ripped from my own CD collection, my phone tries to play the song out of Apple Music instead of the stored data on my phone. It wasn't doing this prior to me accidentally clicking on that Apple Music playlist. I've tried everything I can think of to fix this--deleting the downloaded Apple Music playlist, turning off iCloud sync, resyncing my phone with my iTunes directly, rebuilding my favorite playlist of downloaded songs, rebooting the phone--but nothing is working. How can I get access to my own music again? [link] [comments] |
Safari lagging when creating New Tab and typing on keyboard (iOS 12.1.2) Posted: 13 Jan 2019 03:56 AM PST Ever since I update to iOS 12.1.2, I'm having this issue every time I open Safari, create a new tab and starts typing. I use an iPhone X (100% Battery Health). [link] [comments] |
Soooo, fiancé accidentally spilled a glass of water on a table my 2012 MacBook was on... Posted: 13 Jan 2019 11:50 PM PST Yea, we were watching some tv and she accidentally knocked over a cup of water and the laptop won't turn on. The laptop was in sleep mode, and when I grabbed it, it wasn't very wet. I went to turn it on after I dried it off, and it turned on! I figured it was safe but it had 15% power so I plugged it in. There was no light from the MagSafe charger, so I went to turn it back on and nothing. Am I hosed? Can I trade it in for a new MacBook? I figured it was time, seeing that some of my keys were broken anyway ☹️. I honestly only use the laptop for work and for browsing the internet and writing emails. [link] [comments] |
