PSA to those who wear the Apple Watch in the shower Posted: 27 Dec 2018 01:17 AM PST I often wear my watch to shower even though apple recommends not to (because soap isn't good for seals). I did my research when I got it to make sure it would be fine as long as I rinse the soap and stuff off, and judging by people's experiences with older non-smart watches, everything should be totally fine. Tonight I got out of the shower and dried my watch off and when I turned off water mode it spat out soapy water. That soap would normally sit in there for a long time, probably rapidly accelerating the aging of the internal seals. This wasn't something I had considered when doing research and it's probably why Apple recommends you don't wear it in the shower. (Traditional watches don't really have reservoir type places where water can pool, but the Apple Watch does) I ran the speaker grille under a faucet a time or two and it stopped spitting out soap, but this is something we might want to consider for the future! TL;DR: Soap gets in the speaker and will probably erode the seals eventually. [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Dec 2018 11:18 AM PST You might not get as many perfect week awards, but you will likely burn more calories as you strive to your new goal which will have a bigger impact on health. [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Dec 2018 05:20 AM PST Gymatic is great when it comes to auto detecting exercises and reps but I'm not sure it's completely accurate when it tells me I only burned 5 calories. What are the best workout apps available for the watch? [link] [comments]
Considering getting my first Apple Watch. S3 or s4? Posted: 27 Dec 2018 05:20 AM PST As the title states, I wanna buy an Apple Watch. I'm not sure if the differences are big enough to justify the price differences. Especially since I can get the s3 for $229 at target. [link] [comments]

Want to upgrade from S0 SS to a S4 - but the S4 SS is so expensive! Posted: 27 Dec 2018 06:55 AM PST My S0 is definitely showing its age now that it can't even be updated to the latest WatchOS and lags in nearly everything it does. I love the SS mostly because of the sapphire glass which to this day has no scratches on it, I want to upgrade to the S4 but I hate how for the SS with sapphire you need to get the GPS + Cellular which I don't want and it's $850, the price on the aluminum is much more agreeable and I don't mind putting a clear case on it but the apparently scratchable glass is something I'd hate to compromise on. Is it as highly scratchable as I'm led to believe? Putting a screen protector on a watch just seems stupid but I guess I can do it so long as it wraps on the whole face and not one of those shitty looking ones that only fit on the flat front. Point of cardiogram over stock Apple Watch app? Posted: 27 Dec 2018 07:25 AM PST Hi. Why get cardiogram when the Apple Watch checks your heart rate every five minutes? What benefits does it offer over the stock app? Genuinely curious. [link] [comments]

Apple Watch strange control centre behaviour Posted: 27 Dec 2018 06:18 AM PST Has anybody had this before? At least on the music app, the control centre starts creeping up. I've seen it do this on the Home app too. I'm trying to add a .gif link in to demonstrate, will update soon. [link] [comments]
An issue with recurring reminders on Apple Watch Posted: 27 Dec 2018 07:17 AM PST So I've been having this issue for a few months now. I have a recurring reminder set up on the Reminders app to remind me to take my medication every day. When I complete the reminder on my Apple Watch it completes that day's reminder and the reminder for the next day as well. So I'm not notified the next day. It works normally if I clear the reminder on my iPhone, iPad or Mac. I've tried creating new reminders, adjusting notification settings, turning the watch off/on, etc to no avail. Is anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it? [link] [comments]
Spotify or Apple Music for the Apple Watch? Posted: 27 Dec 2018 07:14 AM PST I got an Apple Watch for Christmas and I've used Spotify for a couple of years. I'll primarily use the watch for fitness and I listen to music while working out. I've heard mixed reviews about Spotify on the watch, so is apple music's interface better than spotify's? Is it worth the switch? [link] [comments]
"OK, let me know if there's anything else you need." Posted: 27 Dec 2018 07:09 AM PST It's really great sending messages hand-free on the Apple Watch with Siri... except when it isn't. I say: "Are you on your way period?" Siri writes: "Are you on your period" I quickly tap "Don't Send," but instead of giving me the chance to send a different text she asks to let her know "if there's anything else you need," except I can't let her know because Siri just stonewalls me from that point. I basically have to manually navigate back to the messages app or manually pull up Siri if I want to get anything sent, but since I'm driving, or whatever, I usually just give up. Maybe Siri should let me know when she's ready to help me. [link] [comments]

My battery doesn’t last nearly as long as it used to. Posted: 27 Dec 2018 07:11 AM PST In less than 24 hours, my watch will give me the "10%/low battery" warning, after it has been charged to 100% the day before. This is without me doing anything more than usual or out of my regular routine. I have a 38 cm 3 series that I got as a gift for Father's Day, so the watch isn't even that old. Any advice y'all can give me? [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Dec 2018 06:52 AM PST So I just got an Apple Watch Series 4 for Christmas, and I used the Sleep++ app for my sleep analysis. The first night worked well but the second night didn't give me anything? I checked to see if I had the automatic sleep tracker on and I do, and I definitely wore my watch overnight. How to turn Carrot Weather speech off on Watch? Posted: 27 Dec 2018 06:29 AM PST I had left the app open on my Watch and walked into daycare to drop my kids off... Tapped my Watch just to see the time and of course I tapped the Carrot Weather app that was still open and it loudly announces "It's windy, meatbag." Fortunately I pressed the crown to make it stop before it got to meatbag, lol. Before I fully embarass myself next time, how the hell do I turn this thing off? I've been searching everywhere in settings on my Phone and Watch, the app on my Watch and can't find it! TIA UPDATE: Thanks to /u/sisk75 I have successfully turned it off! [link] [comments]
Smashed launch day s4 Lte Apple Watch Posted: 27 Dec 2018 06:21 AM PST I think it's $300 to "Fix it". Will they replace the watch for that price or send it in for replacing the screen? Should I do that, or just pay for a new watch all together? [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Dec 2018 06:01 AM PST I just got an Apple Watch S4 for Christmas, I'm scrolling through the App Store looking at all the apps and wondering which ones I should get. If you could leave a suggestion that would be great! [link] [comments]
Move Circle not moving - currently on crutches Posted: 27 Dec 2018 05:26 AM PST Not sure where else I could ask this! I'm on crutches following a hip replacement. I'm walking around now and being more active, but my move goal isn't moving. Exercise goal is though! I tried switching to wheelchair but no luck. Any advice would be great. [link] [comments]
Any rumours wether/when Apple Watch Always On Feature is coming? Posted: 27 Dec 2018 01:35 AM PST Hi guys, I read about some rumours back in September but has there been any news if Apple is integrating the always on feature on the series 4? It does have a OLED Display and there are ways to counter burn in problems. Thanks for any info! [link] [comments]
We need an update to mass delete text messages. Posted: 26 Dec 2018 11:53 AM PST My messages screen is so cluttered and having to delete each conversation one at a time is a hassle. [link] [comments] |
