Posted: 25 Dec 2018 07:33 PM PST I just got a 4K tv and I know it's a weird way to do it but my receiver doesn't have HDMI, only optical. I was using a HDMI/optical audio extractor previously with my last tv but my new 4K has an optical connection in back whereas my last tv didn't. I'm not using the audio extractor right now because it's not 4K capable, it's a cheap one from Amazon a few years back. I'd love to be able to have my Apple TV play surround via the optical from my tv to receiver. [link] [comments]  |

| Questions about lack of games on ATV 4K vs iPhone Posted: 25 Dec 2018 05:17 AM PST So I received my first ATV yesterday and I absolutely love it with one minor caveat: where are all the games? Shame on me for assuming that all the iPhone games (or at least those with midi support) would be available on ATV, too but I'm curious why they're not? Is the underlying architecture of the ATV OS so different from iOS that most developers just don't add the support? Or is there some other reason I'm not thinking of? Regardless I bought my ATV primarily for watching movies/shows and it does that brilliantly so I'm not complaining, more just surprised. Cheers and happy holidays! :) [link] [comments]  |

I ordered 6 of them online with points, in Canada they sell for $249.99... is this considered over price or do many people pay that? | TV app opens every time I home screen Posted: 25 Dec 2018 08:52 AM PST I got a new Apple TV 4K today after having both a 3 and 4 before. I set it up the quick way with my phone. Now every time I homescreen from like Netflix or Hulu or plex the TV app opens. Checked settings just for the tv app and I couldn't turn it off, anyone know what setting I would change to stop that from opening every time? Thanks [link] [comments]  |
