NextRadio App disappears from App Store for iOS Posted: 22 Dec 2018 04:47 PM PST The early crusader for data-free FM app disappears from App store and with it dies the hope of ever getting data-free FM radio on any future iPhones. FCC has tried negotiating and NextRadio has lobbied hard with Apple to get them unlock the FM chip (present in all modern SOCs) for public use, vitally important for information dissemination especially during natural disasters. It's end of an era, like VHS vs Betamax, Netflix vs Blockbuster, Blue-ray vs HD DVD. The Movement: http://freeradioonmyphone.org CALL APPLE 408-974-2042 MESSAGE"Hi! I am a current Apple customer. Please unlock the FM chip in all iPhones you sell so I can get the NextRadio App to hear important emergency information when data networks are unavailable and reduce the amount of data I use each month. Thank you." Posted: 23 Dec 2018 08:00 AM PST Hi. New to iPhone X. I tried recording an Animoji video. I click send, then it says "Sending Animoji". But after that, nothing happens. The animoji did not even appear in the message thread. Do you need to send it to an IPX owner too to work? [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Dec 2018 07:24 AM PST I have not been using screen time and just turned it on last week to check it out. My results showed what I already know - Apollo and Instagram are my most used apps. Coming in close at #3 & #4 are Strong and Spotify. Strong is a workout tracking app. It's on the screen the whole time you are working out but you aren't looking at it or interacting with it for most of that time. I leave Spotify on screen while I'm driving with the phone upside down on the charger in the cup holder and I leave it sitting on my kitchen counter while I'm cooking every night. For the purpose that screen time is intended, the statistics would be more meaningful if you could exclude apps like this. I also think the categories are stupid. You should be able to edit them. Too much stuff gets lumped together in Reading & Reference. Messages is not social networking - it's most people's alternative to the phone which does not have a category. Now that I see what it does, I'll turn it back off. [link] [comments]

Has anyone found a replacement for Tacts? Posted: 22 Dec 2018 09:39 PM PST Absolutely loved the app to filter contacts into groups dynamically and then message them. Haven't found anything like it after it got abandoned - all other contact apps to be frank are bloated crap now... [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Dec 2018 01:09 AM PST Hello guys, Recently I'm coming across an issue with my iPad Air 2 as it restarts itself randomly upon unlocking. After the restart the WiFi toggle in the Settings menu is greyed out and I can't turn it on. I have to reset network settings in order to make it work again. It restarts itself randomly when locked as well. I've updated it to the latest version of the OS, I've reset it as new device, nothing seams to work. It has happened in the past and replacing the WiFi module solved the issue so I went ahead and did it again unfortunately this time with no success. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you and Happy Holidays to all!!! [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Dec 2018 03:20 PM PST We got ScreenTime in iOS 12. What about some statistics of audio usage? Like using Spotify in background. It should result in different results than ScreenTime. Also logging which audio outputs are used, like how often AirPods or Boomboxes are used. Do you think that this feature would be feasible? Would it be any worth to you? [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Dec 2018 11:05 AM PST I know that there was an issue when your phone was at 5% or below that it'll drop frames, but that issue (to my knowledge) has been fixed. Whenever my phone hits 1%, frames drop dramatically... Is this a way for the phone to reduce power usage as much as possible? [U: on latest update/iPhone X] [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Dec 2018 10:47 PM PST Hi Everyone! I know this may seem silly but recently I've been thinking about my lost phone. Roughly 5 years ago, I lost my Iphone 5 or 6 (can't remember) at an amusement park. After a bit I remember my calls to it were not going through and the phone was turned off. At that time I didn't have find my iphone, and only a passcode to protect it. While I took the usual steps to report it to the police, changed all my passwords, I'm wondering if I did enough? I am a bit paranoid that maybe someone did manage to get through to my phone and content somehow. Should I be worried at all? Is there any way to check? Thank you for your help. I understand this might be irrational but anything to put my mind at ease. [link] [comments]

iPhone shared wrong password for its own hotspot Posted: 22 Dec 2018 09:11 PM PST I was sharing my phones connection via WiFi hotspot. I chose to join the WiFi on my iPad and it prompts for password. The share password prompt pops on my phone and I press share. Then on the iPad it says incorrect password. My phone is sharing the wrong password for its hotspot? What the hell... Anyone know where I can download an HD version of the iPhone XS wallpapers? Posted: 22 Dec 2018 04:13 PM PST I pay £999 last year and then Apple are like "oh, this is our exclusive wallpaper for XS owners…" Bull crap. [link] [comments]
Can't update iPad Air 2 from iOS 9 to iOS 12 Posted: 22 Dec 2018 03:21 PM PST So I've kept my Air 2 in iOS 9 for the longest time and didn't bother to upgrade. Recently I've noticed some websites complain about Safari being outdated, so I decided it's time I moved to iOS 12. I went to Settings and was greeted with a message saying that my version of iOS doesn't support updating over the air to iOS 12, and I should do it via iTunes. Strange, but ok, to iTunes I went. I connected the iPad to my Mac, which is running High Sierra and has the latest iTunes. iTunes opens and prompts me to update my iPad, it downloads the iOS file but then does nothing afterward. If I go to the device summary I see "Update" and "Restore" buttons, clicking either one does absolutely nothing. Next thing I tried is to put my iPad in DFU mode, iTunes recognizes it and I again have the options of Updating or Restoring; Update still does nothing, the Restore option initiates the process and reboots the iPad; iTunes then says "waiting for iPad" while the iPad stays in the Apple logo screen and after 5 minutes iTunes says it can't update the iPad -- Unknown Error 4005. I used some 3rd party iOS recovery tool and got my iPad out of the DFU mode and it still works just fine in iOS 9, but I'm stuck and unable to upgrade. Anyone has any tips and/or pointers? Thanks. Posted: 22 Dec 2018 11:24 AM PST Does anyone know how to trigger the new Instagram layout for profiles? I know they're doing testing on it still but I like trying out new things and that's something that I think would look better [link] [comments]
Apple Mail App Stuck On Welcome Screen Posted: 22 Dec 2018 10:00 AM PST As it says App stuck on welcome screen. I have tried resetting, loading new email accounts, deleting and downloading again, restarting phone etc... I checked my daughters iPad and her iPad is doing the same thing. Anyone have any problems or fixes? Thanks. [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Dec 2018 03:08 PM PST I have bought used iPhone SE about a month ago and it was at 90% battery health, and now i checked and it is at 84%. I am thinking about buying another phone because if battery health starts lowering at this rate i can't imagine at what percent it will be in like 6 months or so... And i hate this because iPhone SE is definetly my favourite phone ever, i just love everything about it, and no changing battery is not an option since i am really far away from US [link] [comments]
Can my phone be used by hackers to record me? Posted: 22 Dec 2018 06:36 PM PST I currently own an iPhone 7+ that works just fine and has never gave me any trouble. However, recently I started wondering whether or not my phone can be hacked. I use it on a daily basis and even in the shower or bathroom, so it would be pretty scary if someone on the other side, even the FBI or CIA, can have a backdoor to my camera. It is NOT jailbroken.
