Mojave 10.14.1 can't see any WiFi networks after woke up from hibernation Posted: 01 Nov 2018 01:35 AM PDT Just upgraded from High Sierra to Mojave 10.14.1. I normally always wait for .1 version so most of annoying release bugs are ironed. I've having this issue when I open my 2018 MBP lid and it wakes up from hibernation, wifi is on but I can't see any networks. I need to turn off/on wifi and then all is fine. Anyone having same issue? [link] [comments]

Spoofing MAC address in Mojave? Posted: 31 Oct 2018 10:36 AM PDT Anybody know if the terminal command for spoofing my MAC address would be different from, say, previous versions of macOS? [link] [comments]
Tap to click in app that doesn’t have it Posted: 31 Oct 2018 10:24 PM PDT Is there anyway to enable this? I want to play Out Of The Park Baseball '19 but for some reason tap to click doesn't work. It works in every other app/program on my Mac. There is no option to enable it in the game's settings. Does anyone else know? Thanks. [link] [comments]
Safari often takes long before the first paint, is there a way to speed that up? Posted: 31 Oct 2018 04:36 AM PDT Often when I go to a website I'm staring at a blank screen for quite a while and then suddenly the whole website is loaded. Or if I use the two-finger swipe to go back to a previous page, I see a screenshot of that page, but not the page itself yet, but weirdly enough I can click things, though they're not always the things I think I'm clicking on. So yeah, that's weird and I'd like to change that behaviour. Is there a way to make safari start painting the website before it's fully loaded? EditI solved the problem, but replacing ublock with adguard. Thanks for the help everybody. [link] [comments]

Efficient way to update software on multiple networked Macs? Posted: 31 Oct 2018 03:50 PM PDT Is there an easy way to update software on multiple networked Macs all at once? They're all running the same OS and apps. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Oct 2018 09:43 PM PDT Anyone have problems updating XCode? I installed yesterday's (maybe Monday, not sure) update, which upgraded Mojave, then afterward many apps updated. Since that time, XCode has been going through upgrade after upgrade but ... never upgrades, on my MBP9,2. Anyone have the same issue and have advice? [link] [comments]
External Drive wont mount when booted Posted: 31 Oct 2018 11:48 AM PDT Had someone come to me with this issue. But a little history. During an update (im guessing an OS or system type update) he ran out of patience and had to do a meeting or something and shut down the machine in the middle of it. This caused the OS to crap out each time anyone tried to log in. I basically re-installed (repaired) the OS to get it working again. Now, he says when he plugs in his external drive, it doesnt show up. Under the Disk Utility, it does appear, but will not mount (under any user profile). When i boot into recovery mode and look at disk utility there, it DOES mount. Running terminal command Doesnt appear to do anything. I plugged it into my mac mini, and it mounts and reads fine. It also works plugged into Windows computers (its an NT file system). Any suggestions on how to get this working without re-formatting the drive? [link] [comments]
iMac is super slow and do not know what to do :( Posted: 31 Oct 2018 08:24 PM PDT I have iMac 4K 2017. 3GHz Intel i5 and 16GB DDR4 1T SATA. Performance really bad and I have to few mins after reboot in order to open any application. Once I click the app icon it bounces and bounces and bounces for a while and barely open and works very slow. Did some research and it looks like APFS does not work well with SATA? I don't know what to do. any suggestion or fix might help [link] [comments]
System prefs using a lot of CPU Posted: 31 Oct 2018 01:11 PM PDT I have a Mac Pro and a new Mac Book Pro that both really chug (using 100% CPU) when I open system prefs. The only notable differences is that the MacBook is a fresh install. Has any experienced this or have any tips? [link] [comments]
I would love to use Safari in Mojave but is there any way to install unnoficial extensions? Posted: 31 Oct 2018 08:56 AM PDT So... Safari and Firefox are my favourite browsers. While i enjoy using Firefox on Windows and Linux machines it is really frustrating (performance, graphic issues, window resize...) to use on MacOS even with the latest nightly versions...However i can customize it to my needs in every way. For Mac, I love Safari is the best browser UI imo, no extra space, perfect animations, dark mode and the bookmarks popup when you click on the search bar makes it unnecesary to have bookmarks always visible. The bad thing is i have 3-4 extensions that i use everyday. For example Muzli, Ublock, HTTPS Everywhere,Privacy Badger , Raindrop, Stylus, Bitwarden... - Ublock Origin and Bitwarden work great - Muzli is not available anymore - Stylus (or Stylish) is available but after you reset Safari it's gone (check https://georgegarside.com/blog/macos/install-any-safari-extension-macos-mojave/) - Raindrop does not work well (Developer's fault) but i can change to Pocket if necessary. The most important one for me is Stylus because i always browse in dark mode so i change the css for HackerNews, Medium and a few more sites...I am not willing to pay for DarkReader at the moment since even though i pay for software i am not ready to pay for extensions while having the chance to use it for free in another browser. Right now i'm using Ungoogled Chrome (I'm trying to focus on privacy) which works fine but i has not the same minimalistic UI or dark mode. Is there any way to keep unnoficial extensions working after closing Safari? Rant Apple should really fix this, many advanced users and developers are going to still use Firefox and Chrome for development purposes but for 'just browsing' i would love to use a browser that is a first-class citizen in OS and that also allows me to enjoy the web the way i want. /Rant Thank you [link] [comments]

Posted: 31 Oct 2018 02:54 PM PDT I previously installed Mojave on my late 2012 MB Pro just after Mojave came out; all was good. I updated my 2015 iMac from 10.13.6 to 10.14.1 today and am experiencing nothing but problems. Mainly it is glacially, glacially slow to do everything. Example: open About This Mac and tap on Displays and normally it instantaneously opens. If I do that now, it takes a full 30" to open Displays, then another 30" to open the next tab. The boot time is als_extraordinarily_ slow: about 10' or more until I reach the logon screen then another 5' before reaching the desktop. Did a restart: same slowness persisted. Did a Safe Boot: again, slowness persisted. Restarted in the recovery partition and ran Disk Repair. While the computer passed there were so many lines of this: When I left Recovery mode, I was presented with the window to select which disk I wanted to startup from and Macintosh HD did no event appear in that window & that worried and surprised me. I booted from my Carbon Copy clone, ran DU again and again the iMac passed but again I got: When booted in Recovery mode I was offered the opportunity to reload the system software and I started down that road, it offered to d/l High Sierra and so I backed out and booted from the clone. Suggestions and advice most welcome. Many thanks. [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Oct 2018 02:52 PM PDT Hi! I have MBP Mid 2014! Now i have H Sierra and have not some problems. But i think install Mojave on my MB and have a doubt. Tell me pls about your experience with using Mojave on MBP 2014. [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Oct 2018 02:22 PM PDT This problem started when I updated OS X Mojave to the latest version. When I connect my bluetooth headphones to my macbook air, the set microphone is automatically switched to my headphone's microphone, significantly decreasing quality. (It sounds like I'm listening through a cell phone) Although switching the microphone back to the system mic fixes the sound problem, I have to do it EVERY time i connect my headphones, which gets tedious, fast. Is there any way to make the system always use the system mic, even after connecting headphones, or is there some way to fix the audio problem? [link] [comments]

Posted: 31 Oct 2018 06:53 AM PDT Wanting to get the Mac mini but want to support these formats and can't figure out why windows does my MacOS doesn't? For a "pro" based system how can it not play TrueHD, Dolby HD, Atmos, etc? Any tricks around this? [link] [comments] |
