    Live sports on ATV 4K in Canada

    Hey guys, just wondering how the live sports works in Canada? I'm thinking about getting the ATV 4K because I heard they have live sports as well (multiple screens at once?) that's integrated with your cable subscription too, but i'm not sure how it works? Do I need to have my regular subscription to cable or do they have just sports packages specifically made for the ATV? I watch wayyyy too many sports to cancel my cable subscription and then have it being "delayed" or unavailable on the ATV live sports apps. Basically, i'm just asking how it works?

    Cast Android to Apple TV 4

    Hi, I'm trying to cast a video from my Android phone to an Apple Tv 4 via localcast or all cast. I can see the Apple TV 4 on the list but the video is not being displayed. What do I need to do?

    Benefits of Apple TV vs Smart Tv

    Hey guys just thinking of getting an Apple Tv but i already have a smart tv. Just trying to see what are the major benefits. i know that you can mirror your mac to it but im not sure about anything because it seems my tv can already do alot that the apple tv would do.

    Apple TV Audio Output over AirPlay

    I am working on getting a home theater set up going with a projector. The projector is on the opposite side of the room of my Sonos Beam, and I would like to avoid running an audio cable across the room. My question is can I configure an AppleTV, which would be attached to the projector to send audio without noticeable delay to my sound bar on the other side of the room?

    Do you use Apple TV(s) as your only TV interface? What apps do you use?!

    My wife and I moved completely to Apple TV when DirecTV launched almost 2 years ago (and later to Apple TV 4ks)

    • no input switching
    • one simple remote which turns on/off the whole system through HDMI-CEC
    • we subscribe to DirecTV Now, Netflix, HULU, Amazon Prime, and have lots of channel apps... along with many other apps like NEST, YouTube, etc.

    Honestly our only problems are losing the tiny remote (a case helps big time), having to log into channel apps periodically, and lack of gaming.

    Otherwise fantastic... we have never looked back!

    What has your experience been like?!

    Downloading purchased content

    Can someone tell me how this works?

    Here's the scenario. I want to download all of my purchased movies so that I have the ability to watch if I am off-line. How can I do this? The only Mac I have is a MBP early 2015 model with 120GB of space. So they can't really be stored there since I am already running out of room in it

    I DO have a 2TB Time Capsule connected to the network. Is their a way to download them there and then stream them to my Apple TV?

    Auto-playing music?

    I have an odd issue with my Apple TV (4th Gen). I use a Logitech Harmony remote that I've used for years. I added a new setup for my xbox so it changes to a different A/V receiver channel, tv switches input. When I switch back to my Apple TV setup, it starts playing music from my iTunes library. I know, it must be something with the remote. What I'm wondering is what single-button command could I be sending that just starts playing music? I never use Apple TV for music, so it's not like the music icon is selected by default. Anyone know what command you can issue that just starts playing music? Since I'm switching TV inputs, I can't tell what state it's in when this happens. I'd appreciate any thoughts.

    Should I buy Apple TV 4K?

    Right now I have a Sony 900e and a 4th Gen Apple TV. I have a UHD player for viewing some 4K discs that I've purchased. For streaming I've used the built in google play movies app a few times but mostly use Apple TV. I'm debating whether to upgrade my Netflix plan for 4K and if I do I would also upgrade the Apple TV, I also have a decent iTunes collection that would be upgraded.

    However, only ports 2 and 3 are said to have full bandwidth for 4K/HDR and they are both in use. If I put the Apple TV in port 4, will it not work at all, will there be issues, or will it just not get the full benefit of 4K/HDR?

    Also, right now my TV is upscaling, whereas the Apple TV will be taking that over (for 1080P content) if I upgrade. Will there be a difference?

    I wanted to avoid getting a switch because I've heard there are often issues and the ones with potential are costly.

    Spectrum App & SSO

    Things have been quiet regarding the Spectrum announcement at WWDC. Has anyone heard anything beyond the initially announced "fall" timeline?

    Spectrum has been calling me every couple weeks trying to push me to their TV streaming service, but I refuse until they actually integrate with the Apple TV. I've asked the salesperson each time they've called about the announced Spectrum / Apple TV integration, but they're clueless.

    Edit: Apologies about the title; I realize it's pretty vague and could be mistaken for thinking it was released. If a mod could update it to be more clear, I'd appreciate it.

    Connecting soundbar to TV instead of Apple TV

    Hi, have an 4K ATV and planning to buy a medium range soundbar with probably 2.1ch only. Most of them do not support dolby vision or even hdr10 passing so if I connect soundbar to ARC HDMi port on TV and Apple TV to regular HDMI port, would that work, will there be a loss? I am not exactly an audiophile but would like an improvement over TV speakers.
