    Hey r/jailbreak,

    A few weeks ago we noticed this post (which has since been deleted so rip that) and we have decided to bring back monthly roundups! Some of you may remember that we used to do these a few years ago (they were called "Weekly Roundups") and we have since decided to bring it back. The goal of this is to highlight every tweak that was released and posted to our sub during the month (along with tweaks that have also been updated). Instead of doing them every week, we will do them every month in order to keep it fresh and to have something to look forward to at the end of every month.

    Previously, these roundups were managed by a bot but unfortunately, we do not have a working bot to do this right now so I am creating these posts manually. As a result, some posts that should be included might have been missed or I might have made some other mistakes. If that is the case, please PM me and I will fix it ASAP.

    [Discussion] Is a $400 brick worth a jailbreak?

    This morning I picked up my Apple Watch and seen the beautiful balloons flash across the screen as today is my birthday, I was thrilled and loved the animation, and the display proceeded to fall out. There was no other wear and tear, and it just plopped right out and underneath was a swollen battery.

    Fast forward to tonight, my mother revealed she has bought me a new Series 4 Apple Watch. Now I have the tough question, do I upgrade and loose my jailbreak, or wear a $400 brick on my wrist?

    EmojiPort Installer TLDR and Landing page

    EmojiPortInstaller is a script that will install EmojiPort and the iOS 12.1 font file for you, to easily get the 12.1 emojis. If you want to learn more, read the above linked post about it.

    Now, to get on to today's update:

    • Fixed the compression errors with iOS 10. I still don't know if EmojiPort itself works on meridan, but at least my installer should now work without XZ-utils.

    This update is long overdue and I apologize for that.

    [help] a dev was kind enough to give me the following terminal commands, which allowed my jailbreak on 11.3b6 to work with Electra. Switched to Unc0ver, but now none of my tweaks work & nothing will install (says i'm missing mobile substrate amongst other things). Can anyone help me reverse this? tx

    After I update it, my phone suddenly becomes less and less freezes or auto restart/force restart. Only just like 1 freeze a day and all i have to do is force restart and jailbreak again. I was actually surprised.

    I just want to say thank you u/dpkg_ for the help and made this tweak to prevent my phone from constant freezing, auto restart, force restart etc etc instead of going to terminal and write something coz it's risky even someone said it's easy and safe. Now I don't have to worry too much and I think I'm not the only one here facing this. :)

    [Question] Trading In Jailbroken Phone

    I tried to take advantage of a promotion at my local retailer and I mentioned that my device (iPhone 6+) is jailbroken and they refuse to accept it for an XS. They mentioned that even if I had not told them and the phone was reset and shipped to Apple's Labs, the people there would have detected it anyways and disable my XS because once a phone is jailbroken, it will always have a trace of it even if you reset your device.

    Do I really have no other options? I could reset anyways and go to a different store but I was wondering if that latter portion above was actually true.

    [Update] malleus - adds sounds to the 3D Touch toggles

    In case you missed my previous post, this tweak adds sounds to your 3D touch toggles (Flash/camera) as per a reddit request. For initial release it used a very load and annoyong beep sound, I had hoped to use the actual ios 12 sound, but we'll get to that.

    So, good news/bad news time:

    Good news: it's on bigboss now, yay! Also, apparently iDB doesnt have much jailbreak news to write about, so they wrote about a tweak that's literally two methods... thanks. Also, if Anthony Bouchard happens to be reading this, thanks, but can you change my name to "Samg_is_a_Ninja", idk seems weird having my actual name on a "real" website... anyways appreciate it.

    Bad news: I literally dumped an iOS 12.1 beta 1 and an iOS 12.1 beta 5 IPSW and diffed them, and was unable to find the exact sound file. My current theory is that iOS plays some system sound, but either speeds up or slows down the playback so that it sounds different? Idk. Anyways, /u/KNNMMDV made an excellent point, the sound I originally chose was annoyingly loud, so I changed it to the one iOS uses when you scroll through date pickers. Also Optimo (BigBoss repo maintainer, for those who dont know) correctly pointed out that even if I had found the file, Apple has copyright over it, and therefore redristibuting it to iOS 12 devices would be piracy.

    [Discussion] Potential Switch Online Bypass?

    Hi there!

    I'll get right to it. I discovered something odd about the Nintendo Switch Online app. I was messing around with app admin, trying to downgrade it, when I gave up. I deleted both NSO and App Admin, and once I resprung, I re-installed NSO.

    I opened it as soon as it had finished installing. Instead of a crash, though, it let me in.

    I was able to get to the sign in point and even sign myself in, but there wasn't any loading progress after that. However, that may be because of my garbage internet.

    Is this something that's known, or is this a new thing? Could this be played with to make an official bypass for the app? Or was it just a fluke? The app launched when this process of redownloading it was repeated.

    [Discussion] r/jailbreak issues with jailbreaks turned into tickets that have to be submitted.

    Moderators could make a ticket submission you have to fill out for problems with a certain jailbreak. For example:

    Choose which jailbreak you are using

    Which version you are on

    Which device you are using

    Choose between problems or feature requests

    This will open a ticket and the mods could then link to a similar problem that someone has already answered and close the ticket. Or they could leave the ticket open and assign it to the jailbreak developer to answer the issue.

    Just a thought.

    Edit: Any new posts regarding issues with jailbreaks or future request will be automatically deleted and a message sent to the OP telling them to submit a ticket for any issues/requests.

    Edit: we could also create a new forum called r/jailbreakissues and there you can find the answers to problems. But make it easier to find them by listing in categories of jailbreak types and problems that have already been answered

    [Help] I think my iPhone just died.

    Using a 6S Plus, I was on 11.3.1, jailbreak was fine for a few months then last night i was on Duo. The phone just shut off completely, and wouldn't turn back on. I tried all the basics (power button, hold home and power button, plug in to charge) but no use. I plugged it into iTunes and tried to Update and Restore as the phone is now in recovery mode. The phone begins to update, switches on to the Apple logo then switches off and iTunes pulls up error 4014. Any tips to bring the phone back to life? Thank you.

    [Help] All Apps keeps crashing

    All my apps keeps crashing after I copied my WiFi Mac ID to my clipboard and now I can't copy or paste anything, sometimes even select things without the app freezing/crashing. Can someone help me locate the clipboard through Filza and clear it?
