Will I still be able to watch in 4K if I disable ''Quick Start'' option? Posted: 02 Nov 2018 12:57 AM PDT Hello, I have posted about my problem with 4k streaming quality on a 40+mbps stable internet connection when I had Quick Start set to ON, the movie starts instantly but with the quality of a 360p movie and sometimes never gets better in quality. After getting some advises from fellow Reddit people, now I am using (4k SDR @60Hz & both Match Content: ON & Video Res: Best Available) and the option Quick Start set to OFF. The movie takes up to 30 seconds of loading/buffering and then it streams in glorious HD quality. But the thing is the Gray Bar underneath the movie is super fast and it's waaaay ahead of the movie current play-time. Will it automatically switch to 4k after it reaches a certain point? The gray bar suggests that my internet is more than capable of playing 4k quality, but I really don't understand why it wont on the (Quick Start set to ON) option. Am I wasting my time and money on regular HD movies this way or will it actually stream in 4k after all that gray bar advancement? Random note: when I download a game on [Steam], my download speed peaks at 5.4 MB/s which is 2MB more than what Apple recommends for 4k streaming. [link] [comments]
ATV 4K turns back on after put in sleep mode... Posted: 01 Nov 2018 10:00 AM PDT ATV 4K with the latest tvOS will turn back on (and turn the TV back on) approx. 15 secs later... This started about 2 or 3 days ago and the "remote connected" icon pops up now since this all started. Is this related to my remote? (I've charged the remote, re-paired it to the ATV but it didn't fix it). Short of trying a factory reset, what else am I missing? Could it be my TV or the HDMI cable? Current theory is that there's some disconnect of the remote that's causing it to restart/disrupt the sleep mode. Fun fact: When I turn off the ATV (and then after 15 secs it restarts), I then immediately turn it off again - it'll stay off... weird. SOLVED! [link] [comments]
Apple TV 4 flickering when turned on Posted: 01 Nov 2018 03:55 PM PDT Usually I watch something on Apple TV, then switch over to comcast to watch something else, then turn the TV off when I'm done watching. The next time I turn the TV back on, and switch to Apple TV to watch something, it will flicker on and off every couple seconds while still on the Apple TV home screen. It stops after I unplug and replug the TV and Apple TV, but this will happen again next time. I'm using a samsung 4k TV [link] [comments]
