Posted: 29 Nov 2018 10:23 PM PST I have my Sony X900F connected to an Apple TV 4K which has iOS 11.2.1 and when I play something on Netflix that supports Dolby Vision my TV only triggers HDR and when I go to settings>video&audio>format I only get the option to choose either 4K SDR or HDR, am I not getting Dolby Vision because of the HDMI I'm using or do I need to update the Apple TV in order to be able to play Dolby Vision content? Anyone else experience this/find a fix? Saw there was a very old post about it, but no resolution. Netflix says it's a known issues for ATV 3 and 4, but this is on a 4K. | ATV 4K/LG OLED C8/Sonos Playbase Posted: 29 Nov 2018 09:14 PM PST I previously used my Apple TV remote perfectly fine with my Samsung TV. I recently upgraded to an OLED and now my appletv remote doesn't work any longer to control my playbase. I've tried all the audio settings in the ATV to no avail including the control receiver via IR. I have an optical cable going from TV to playbase and hdmi from ATV to OLED TV. I am at a loss for why this isn't controlling the playbase anymore? Any ideas? Thanks! [link] [comments]  | ||

What was cool is he set a scene that would not only turn on the TV but play a specific item from the non Apple product. My question is if this is possible with ATVin any way. As in, I say "Merry Christmas you filthy animal" and my tree and lights come on and the ATV turn on the fireplace video on Prime? [link] [comments]  | ||

Our tests get "Apple ID Verification - Enter the password for "sdmipads@pitt.edu" in Settings" quite frequently. My question: Is there a way to suppress this in entirety? Ideally I want them in single app mode, set it and never look at it again. However I have to keep it unlocked because of the verification. There is no MDM yet and I am using a laptop to plug into the apple tv service port to program with configurator. We are getting jamf in January*. Thank you [link] [comments]  | ||
| Posted: 29 Nov 2018 07:26 PM PST I pay for an ESPN+ account and have an apple TV with the ESPN app on it, however when I try to use the apple TV app it asks for my TV provider. I use Frontier FiOS for internet but NOT TV, and I cant get past that point. Anyone know how I use the Apple TV ESPN without using a "TV Provider" account, or am I just stuck with Airplay? I'm assuming im just doing something wrong, since I pay for an ESPN+ account I figure there's got to be a way to make it work without me using airplay. | LG OLED C7 and Apple TV 4k - HDMI CEC Posted: 29 Nov 2018 04:40 PM PST My setup:Yamaha RX-V781 connected to HDMI 2 on LG OLED65C7. Devices connected to Yamaha receiver: HTPC (HDMI1), Apple TV 4k (HDMI2), PS4 Pro (HDMI3) and cable tv tuner (HDMI4). Only device which supports HDMI-CEC is the Apple TV 4k. (if you press the input button on LG OLED remote, you see the Apple tv as a sub device to the HDMI2 input)https://imgur.com/YKfuDUq I have to enable Simplink on LG, and HDMI control on Yamaha to get ARC, because I want sound through ARC for smart-tv apps like Netflix, Prime video etc.When enabling this, and I use for example Netflix, the Yamaha receiver automatically switch to the assigned input for ARC. (AV1 on receiver) My problem is that when leaving the smart-tv app/platform and back to HDMI2 (where I have 4 devices connected), it ALWAYS switches to the input for the ATV 4k (HDMI2 on receiver), regardless of the last input was for example my HTPC (on HDMI2 on receiver) So freaking annoying, because I use a Harmony remote with activities, and the activity for HTPC is chosen but the receiver changes input to Apple Tv... then I have to choose another activity (PS4 for ex) and the back to HTPC... How can I stop the HDMI-CEC on Apple TV? Or do any of you see another solution? [link] [comments]  | ||
