iPhone 8 won't reconnect to 4G (LTE) Posted: 23 Oct 2018 08:29 PM PDT I'm in Australia, not sure whether than limits the help I can get here but I've tried the other options I know... I've been having this issue for months now. If I lose the connection, say going through a tunnel on the tram, the phone gets stuck on 3G. I thought it was just bad coverage (Telstra) initially. But I saw other Telstra users with 4G when I still had 3G. And now I have confirmed that if turn the mobile connection of and back on it will usually reconnect to 4G. I've been trouble shooting with Apple. They ran remote diagnostics and found no hardware issue. I've reset network settings and now reset all settings to no avail. The next thing they'll want me to do is wipe the phone and re-install iOS. I can do that if necessary but am hesitant because I've got a lot of media on there and it will be a pain and I'm not confident it will fix the problem. So I thought I'd check in here to see what others thought. Is re-installing iOS likely to fix it? I read a thread elsewhere from 2012 about getting a new sim, should I try that? [link] [comments] |
Disposal of punctured battery? Posted: 23 Oct 2018 11:33 PM PDT I needed to replace the battery on my iphone 6s so i followed the steps on youtube and what not and got it replaced but while pulling out the battery it got crushed and punctured, and burned my thumb a tiny bit but there was no smoke or fire and the battery is now cold. i read online to put it in salt water until disposal but i don't currently have any. the battery itself is cold now. is it okay to leave overnight until I can figure out how to get rid of it tomorrow? Activating iPhone 7 without SIM Posted: 23 Oct 2018 06:18 PM PDT I had an iPhone 7 that just decided it wasn't going to recognize its SIM card anymore. I upgraded to an iPhone X so I just did a full restore on the 7 (removing my jailbreak, oops) and shipped it off to a friend to basically use as an iPod. However, she hasn't been able to activate it. I've read a website that said that she could activate it through iTunes but it keeps throwing an error about no SIM card. And she can't do the emergency call method because the cellular portion of the phone is toast. Is there anything I can do? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Oct 2018 05:21 AM PDT Hello all, my SOs grandma passed away a few months ago and he had a whole bunch of her voicemails he'd constantly listen to for comfort. His work provides their cell phones and recently they were given an upgrade. (5 to 8 if that matters.) When he got his phone, his voicemails were gone. Is there a way to retrieve them? Please let me know. TIA! [link] [comments] |
