Housemate's iphone is automatically uploading stuff and shutting down our home network Posted: 08 Oct 2018 07:15 PM PDT We have a very low upload speed and in the past, one person's phone can shut down the whole network via automatic uploads. Right now, we have narrowed the problem to a person's iphone, which he says is an "iphone SE". He says he has the automatic sync features all turned off and has checked his apps to make sure they aren't set to automatically upload anything. The problem is that when his phone is connected, it will sometimes cause 40% or higher packet loss on our network and we can tell its his phone because the problem immediately goes away when his phone is not connected. However he has no idea why his iphone would be causing this and has no idea how to find out what app or setting is causing this. Does anyone have any idea on how to figure out what app/etc is automatically uploading stuff and causing the problem? [link] [comments] |
iOS12, missing notification toggles Posted: 08 Oct 2018 02:12 PM PDT Specs: -iPhone X 256GB -iOS 12.0.1 (16A404) Issue: I had some freezes after updating my device to iOS 12, so I was recommended to reset all settings (Settings->General->Reset->Reset all settings). After the iPhone had restarted, notification toggle for several apps where missing. No matter which way I tunnel in to the notification settings, the toggle just isn't there any longer. Which apps: It seems that it is only the stock apps (besides some others) , that has the toggle for notifications. Troubleshooting steps I've already tried: -Going in to the app setting, and selecting notification. This directed me to the notification setting on the iPhone; toggle still missing. -Going through Settings-app, notifications, scrolling down to the app, toggle missing. [link] [comments] |
