[Discussion] Switching to the unc0ver jailbreak from the others - Addressing the confusion

    Posted: 24 Oct 2018 06:27 AM PDT

I'm making this post since it seems like there's a lot of confusion now. Mainly due to the fact that the RootFS Restore option that I put in unc0ver didn't work really well with V1... However, I managed to fix the issues with the RootFS Restore with V1.0.2 and confirmed it on multiple iOS 11.0-11.4 Beta 3 devices. From what I have seen so far, people are thinking that that the option is still broken and they're trying to find ways to uninstall their old jailbreaks using some unsafe remover scripts. So just know that the issues with the RootFS Restore have been fixed and you can still freshly restore to your current version even if you have messed up before and are having issues like Cydia being small and broken or others.

[REQUEST] Testers for my new repo - Aussie Appz

    Posted: 24 Oct 2018 04:07 PM PDT

    Howdy all,

If anyone is bored and wants to help test my new Aussie Appz repo, it would be greatly appreciated.

A couple of things to note:

    • You would have to be available tomorrow AEST (8am-3pm).

    • You must have a sandbox PayPal account so that no $$$ will change hands.

    • You WILL get to keep the packages after testing.

    • You will require XenHTML and XenINFO.

    • Skype or another form of Chat

If all goes to plan and the repo functions as intended, it will be an alternative to PackIX where developers can upload there own packages but without the PackIX fees.

Just leave a note below if you can meet the above specifications and i will DM you tomorrow with the details.

    Thanks for reading.

[Release] ByeVSD & KillVSD - The permanent fix for Videosubscriptionsd!

    Posted: 24 Oct 2018 08:59 AM PDT

Huge thanks to /u/katisureshkumar for testing ByeVSD with me.

So apparently unloadVSD script wasn't enough to stop this daemon from running (although this doesn't happen with the other scripts and daemons, just this one) So I decided to mess around the configuration file that executes the daemon and by changing the name of it, the daemon never worked/crashed again.

ByeVSD: This is safe, i even fully rebooted a few times without the configuration file in place and nothing went wrong but since removing system files is a bad, this will just rename it, and it'll put the original name back if you uninstall it. Which after testing it, the configuration file will work again and put the daemon in action.

KillVSD: This is not recommended, it'll rename the daemon itself which isn't safe but seems to work better.. really if you don't want to see a VSD crash ever again this is the one to go with, however never install this if iTunes Store is a thing for you, as it might break the purchases inside it, only the itunes store, as this daemon is only related to it. Uninstalling it will rename it back to the original name anyway.

    My repo: https://dpkg9510.github.io/

If you appreciate my work, you can buy me a coffee: https://paypal.me/mrefaey0

More info: Install ByeVSD first, if that won't stop it (which I doubt it won't, as the file that controls the daemon won't be able to execute it again), you can then use KillVSD at your own risk.

If you have unloadVSD, it'll be uninstalled by ByeVSD in cydia, it'll also install unloadVSD2 along with it (unloadVSD2 installs 2 packages, so with ByeVSD they're 3), they're needed to make sure the daemon won't run again as well as to unload it before the installation. A full reboot is necessary.

Installing KillVSD will remove unloadVSD as there won't be any need for it in this case.

    Tested on Electra and Unc0ver.

Have a nice jailbreak everyone :)

[Discussion] Are there any tweaks like these that work for iOS 11?

    Posted: 24 Oct 2018 12:20 PM PDT

I just found an old tweak list from my 9.3.4 days and came across some very helpful tweaks if they were updated for iOS 11. I know /r/tweakbounty would be a good place to ask for new/updated tweaks but I'm interested in finding already working tweaks like these if they exist.

BIM - Convenient browsing inside of the messages app. This would open links in an in-app browser without closing messages/opening safari.

Shortcuts - Shortcuts adds Force Touch menus to icons Apple neglected and also adds more shortcuts to some of them they did.

PhotoAlbums+ for iOS 9 and iPhone/iPod - PhotoAlbums+ adds the ability to protect albums and folders with individual passwords. - This one im basically just interested in the password protected folders.

These next few im just adding because why the fuck not... I either already know there's not a tweak like it and it needs to be updated or a new one created or I know what tweak(s) can replace it.

DiskPie - Disk Pie interactively shows you the disk usage in your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, allowing you to remove stuff you no longer need.

Automa - Automa is a tweak that makes iOS alerts less annoying by remembering the option selected the first time an alert pops up and automatically re-selecting it when that alert is presented again. - I think I can speak for a lot of people when I say for the love of god please bring this back

Apex 2 - Apex 2 brings you a fun new way to organize & access your related apps! Now this one I'd kill for but I do know there's like a $400 bounty for it and it was made by multiple developers and one or more of them have left the jailbreak scene. RIP.
However, the closest i've come to replicating it is by using a method I learned on /r/jailbreak that a lot of you know. It's by combining Exsto 11 with Primal Folder. It's... not the same, but It's something.

Anyway, I'll edit this post if i run across any more. This was not supposed to be a long post at all but i got carried away.

[HELP] Ever since I installed minimal host blocker, HTML5 streams don't work at all. How can I fix this?

    Posted: 24 Oct 2018 09:47 PM PDT

I installed it a few weeks ago and suddenly if I found a sports stream, they wouldn't play. I've uninstalled Minimal but the problem is still there. Every stream I get an HTML5 Video error 3 message. This is driving me nuts as streams used to run flakes on my phone and now my team is in OT and I can't watch anything.

    SOLVED

I installed Untrusted Hosts Blocker and it somehow fixed the problems left over from Minimal.

[Question] Is rejailbreaking supposed to take a long time with Unc0ver?

    Posted: 24 Oct 2018 08:19 PM PDT

When I rebooted my phone and tried to rejailbreak, for some some reason it take an insane amount of time to be in a jailbroken state. The respring icon will just keep spinning endlessly before I have to hard reboot and try again.

    Is anyone else experiencing this?
