Apple Watch So i was in the gym on the elliptical machine when I felt a haptic tap. Looked at my watch. It had a message ‘looks like you’re using the elliptical machine, do you want to record it, I have already started logging it’. I always used to forget to do this. Love that !

First S4 44mm OLED bleed test failed so I returned it. Second S4 44mm OLED Color bleed test also failed. I’m incredibly disappointed with Apple and feel like this will not actually be addressed to get fixed.

Runner's Review of the Apple Watch Series 4 - Anyone have any strong feelings on S04 relative to previous generations?

One complaint about closing the three rings.

    Posted: 09 Oct 2018 05:20 AM PDT

I am not a fan of how easily the workout meter is filled. I have barely exerted myself this morning and my workout meter is halfway filled up. I wish that Apple gave you the option to only enable the work out meter if you actually record a work out or if your heart rate goes above X anyone else experienced this?

Would anyone be interested in a messages complication for the new Infograph faces?

    Posted: 08 Oct 2018 10:24 AM PDT

Is there any interest? I have a prototype of this running on my watch and I'd be happy to put it on the watch store for free I f there is interest.

Edit: here are some preview images. The one with the green ring shows the current battery percent too! http://imgur.com/qPhqLFe http://imgur.com/PON5CGz

How do you want Apple to do custom watch faces?

    Posted: 09 Oct 2018 12:56 AM PDT

A lot of people want custom watch faces, but I'm curious as to what people want from them and how they expect Apple to realistically implement such watch faces.

For example, one major thing is complications. Apple allows several different types of complications, including the new ones exclusively for the Infograph faces introduced with Series 4. Having these defined types and a known set of watch faces allows third party app developers to create specific complications for each type and allows them to know exactly how their complications will look. An example is the Modular complication family: third party app developers know that their complications will always be against a black background, and at best they know the user can choose the color of the text and/or icon.

With custom watch faces... how do you handle that? Should they not be allowed at all? Should custom watch faces be required to display complications exactly how they appear on Apple's own watch faces? Should they be allowed to manipulate how complications are displayed? Should Apple create new types of complications that custom watch faces can work with, thus creating more work for third party app developers? (let's be real, the state of third party app complications is pretty poor as it is without custom watch faces)

Other considerations include battery life and CPU usage - yes, if a watch face allowed you to have streaming video on it, then it is the user's choice to do so. But the average person might not understand why their Watch's battery runs out so quickly, and they may blame Apple for the issue.

So what do you want and how do you want Apple to implement it? Of course, not every custom watch face would be that complex. Some people just want something that is functionally like the Simple/Utility/etc face but they just want the clock part to look different. But some people want something like this. Do people just not want complications at all?

Siri Standalone & Siri Raise To Speak - Still in Beta?

    Posted: 09 Oct 2018 05:46 AM PDT

Is it just me, or are Siri and Siri Raise To Speak to of the worst features of the Apple Watch.

Raise to speak is cool IF you can get it to work. I thought I finally found the right movement one day, but I was wrong.

Siri, on the other hand is constantly wrong, timing out, asking for more time and suggesting she'll tap when ready, or just going back to home screen.

First time apple watch owner, but I have never been more frustrated by two, what should be core features, working like they're still in beta/test mode.

Surely Apple Engineers must realize these features are not very good?

What am I missing? Any tips from long time users?

Series 2 - Stuck on apple logo after pairing/updating

    Posted: 09 Oct 2018 05:09 AM PDT

I recently got a new phone so I had to pair my watch to my new phone. When I did it said it needed to update. But now it's just stuck on the apple logo, even after force resetting the watch. And I can't use the Find My Watch from my phone because the pairing never finished.

I'm at a loss here. I've reset it multiple times to no avail. Still stuck on the apple logo. Any ideas?

THE INFOGRAPH FACE HAS DIGITAL TIME... WITH SECONDS!

    Posted: 08 Oct 2018 02:12 PM PDT

I have been waiting for a digital watch face with seconds that wasn't an activity face (doesn't look as professional) for so long! I work as a nurse with children with epilepsy and I need to be able to time their seizures to determine when to give meds, call for extra help etc. Yes the stopwatch can do that but if it turns into a rapid response I need to be able to know the exact time as well. This face does all of that! Not only can I start the stopwatch from the face and be back in 3 clicks, I can also view the digital time. I'm so so happy. It seems so small but it's HUGE for me! I've been waiting for this for so long! I have cut my three watch faces now down to one and I am LOVING it. So glad I got a series 4.

Earth and Moon complications not updating?

    Posted: 09 Oct 2018 08:24 AM PDT

Anyone else? The only way I can update them is by hard pressing the watch face to "refresh" them. Solar seems to be fine, though.

Does anyone else have trouble using walkie talkie over data?

    Posted: 09 Oct 2018 07:45 AM PDT

    I have a Series 4 GPS 44mm

I can't seem to figure out how to use it while on LTE. There's no setting to allow use over data or anything like that, but I'm stuck on "connecting" whenever either me or my wife are on cellular. It kind of defeats the purpose for me if I can't use it wherever I am. I did some searching around the sub but couldn't find a clear answer.

Is there a workaround? Are other people experiencing this?

Complications not showing up as options when configuring watch face

    Posted: 09 Oct 2018 07:37 AM PDT

My S4 just arrived in the mail yesterday and I'm loving the performance speed and screen size!

However, one issue is that I'm not able to select my custom app complications from the options list when configuring my watch faces. The default complications are there.

When I edit the watch face widgets in my watch directly, I am able to see a couple custom app complications, but not all of them either...

I've tried restarting the watch and app and repairing, but it has not worked.

Does anyone else have this issue? Or know a solution for this?

    Thanks!

Nike+ Series 4 refuses to stay connected to my iPhone 7

    Posted: 09 Oct 2018 07:24 AM PDT

    Hey y'all,

I picked up my Watch in-store on Friday. Like the device, but it won't stay connected to my phone for more than a couple hours before disconnecting. I've read that people have this issue when listening to music at the same time, but I'm having this issue regardless of whether I'm using my watch with my AirPods at the same time.

I've tried toggling airplane mode on both my phone and watch and trying to force a Bluetooth connection through my phone - neither have worked. Rebooting my Watch seems to be the most effective, but it's annoying having to restart a $400+ device every few hours for it to work properly.

Any other ideas before I ask Apple for a replacement?

Thinking about getting a series 4

    Posted: 09 Oct 2018 06:48 AM PDT

    Hi all,

I'm thinking on getting a new series 4 watch, the thing is, in my country my current carrier doesn't have cellullar for applewatch (they don't have esims). Would you change carrier or get the gps model? Is there much difference?

Another thing, I'm a spotify user, how does it work for applewatch? Is there any app of some sort?

    Thank you!

Closing apps when dock is set to favorites

    Posted: 09 Oct 2018 06:27 AM PDT

Hey everyone. I'm a bit new to the Iwatch and apple in general.

I've been messing with settings and found out I can make the recent apps tab a favorites tab. While I have it set up like that, how do I close apps I've used that aren't listed under the favorite tab?

Stupid question: how do I adjust the stand goal?

    Posted: 09 Oct 2018 06:13 AM PDT

The only instructions I could find on Apple showed how to increase or decrease overall kj targets, not specifically the stand goal.

By default my stand goal is 12 hours a day, which is unrealistic for me as a desk jocky.
