Netflix not remembering watched shows Posted: 08 Oct 2018 08:05 PM PDT This only starting in the past 4 weeks or so, but it is driving me nuts. Netflix is not remembering shows I've watched. If I watch a episode of a series, the next time I come back to the Apple TV it doesn't remember. I suspect it started with tvOS 12 but I'm not sure. I looked around and didn't see anyone mention this. Is anyone else having the same issue? [link] [comments]
Voice search not working in any app on tvOS 12 Posted: 09 Oct 2018 02:29 AM PDT Since last week, voice search doesn't work in any app on my ATV4K. Not YouTube, not Apple Music, not the Search app, nothing. Since Siri has never been supported in English in Germany, I can't test that. Strangely, it doesn't even work when I try it from the Remote app on iOS, so the Siri(-less) remote isn't broken. I've restarted countless times without luck. I'm using a Samsung Smart TV. We mainly use the default Apple TV remote, but occasionally use the Samsung remote and our old silver Apple TV remote. Not sure if any of this could contribute. Is there anything else I can try without needing to reset the entire device? [link] [comments]
So only Amazon Prime shows appear in “TV” all but not shows purchased? Posted: 08 Oct 2018 06:27 PM PDT Is this correct? If I add a show from Amazon that is Prime (I.e Melrose Place) it shows up in the TV app. However the TV app does not add any of my shows I purchased from Amazon (I.e. Doctor Who).? Starting to get annoyed with WatchAid Posted: 08 Oct 2018 06:53 PM PDT I really like the idea of WatchAid, and it certainly seems better than the TV app in that it reliably functions with all services, but I'm starting to get annoyed by it. I might be wrong but it seems to work by using deep linking, but the downside is that the developer has to manually add each link. I can appreciate how much time and effort that must take, but it seems like most major shows are "broken" in some way (missing seasons, season listed but missing services like hulu or netflix) until I send a message about it. Is there a better/different option? Or is there something I should be doing differently? Should I just quit complaining about an otherwise great app? [link] [comments]
Is there a way to make my movie collection look less like a mess Posted: 08 Oct 2018 11:33 AM PDT Hey guys, I recently got an Apple TV 4K as I am deeply invested in the apple ecosystem and it was basically the only piece missing. I mainly bought it to watch twitch on a bigger screen in the evening but I found another interest : building a movie collection. I bought two movie packs Harry Potter and fast and furious (don't judge me lol). And they are all mixed up in the movie app., it really looks terrible. Is there a way to group the movies by collection? or at least order them correctly? I am a bit worried that if I buy the whole game of thrones series for exemple it ll look like the most incredible mess in the history of mankind. I tried going in the settings (apps subsection) but I can't only them by date or by alphabetical order and none of them work correctly Thanks in advance for your help ! [link] [comments]

Apple Configurator 2 & AppleTV (2nd Gen) Troubleshooting Posted: 08 Oct 2018 08:47 AM PDT Is anyone able to confirm for me if Apple Configurator 2 should work with my AppleTV 2nd Gen? I haven't been able to get it to appear as a device when connecting it - had support been dropped or is the issue on my end? Also - If anyone has advice on installing a custom wifi profile (connecting to Eduroam network) on a 2nd Gen I'd super appreciate any advice! Thanks! [link] [comments]
2 weeks with AppleTV 4k. I hate this remote so much. Posted: 08 Oct 2018 12:33 PM PDT This touchpad is an interesting idea, but it's deeply flawed. Watching DirecTV Now you have to be VERY careful not to accidentally touch it or you might change the channel. Equally trying to swipe down and turn on/off subtitles has to be done quite precisely. Picking it up in the dark there's barely any palpable texture so who knows if you're holding it backwards? I would love a 3rd party remote. Clicky buttons. Easier to use in the dark. Home Sharing Issues? (Apple TV and Mac) Posted: 08 Oct 2018 07:15 PM PDT Hi everyone! Just got my Apple TV 3rd gen today and I'm trying to set up Home Sharing. All my devices (MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iPhone 7) are updated to the latest software, connected to the same WiFi network, and use the same Apple ID. I also toggled the Home Sharing option on and off, and restarted all my devices—still nothing. Has anyone experienced anything like this? I've tried going through the sub but I haven't found any help. [link] [comments]
