Best Video and Audio setup up for Apple TV 4K

    Posted: 25 Sep 2018 09:21 PM PDT

Hello everyone new to Reddit so let's see how it goes. I had a few questions hope y'all who have the same setup or have more knowledge on this matter can help me out. I recently bought an Apple TV 4k I have a 65" Sony XBR-65X850D 4k tv (is not Dolby vision), with a Bose soundtouch 300 soundbar which supports Dolby digital and dts. The way I have it setup is i have the Apple TV hdmi plug to the Bose soundbar hdmi in(HDMI IN Direct audio)than from the Bose soundbar hdmi arc I have it connected to my Sony tv. My question? Is this the best way to connect the Apple TV to get the best picture and sound or do you recommend another setup. My Sony Tv has the enhanced mode for 4k but it has to be plug in to hdmi 2 or 3 I have it on 4 because is the arc and also my Bose soundbar has 4k pass through. Also since my tv does not have Dolby vision do I leave the Apple TV at 4k HDR 60hz or 4K SDR with match content and frame rate on. Thank you y'all.

    hey all,

wondering if anyone else has this issue and a potential fix. anytime I pause for longer than 10-15 seconds and I return back to the tv and hit play, the media starts a few minutes before from where I paused it. (across all apps).

Can't play 4k mkv files with AirPlay (MacBook Pro)

    Posted: 25 Sep 2018 02:56 PM PDT

Hey, I've been having problems with my new 4k Apple TV (last gen) displaying 2160p mkv files while using AirPlay to display the screen of my 2016 MacBook Pro. I just bought a 4k LG Oled and still I find there is a lag in the video and audio every 2 seconds although in my Mac it plays just perfectly at the same time. Anyone know how to solve this?

Apple TV without physical WEP style router

    Posted: 25 Sep 2018 10:29 PM PDT

I have Xfinity Internet and I do not have a router as I am using a relatives login information. Is there a way to do a workaround for that? Xfinity WiFi shows up, I sign in with username and password. No option for security key as there isn't one. Any help would be appreciated.

Any way to remove default apps on 4K TV (without jailbreaking?)

    Posted: 26 Sep 2018 01:48 AM PDT

When following Apple's guide it only gives delete options for downloaded apps, not iTunes/WatchTV. I want to get rid of everything but the AppStore and Settings menus.

Sleep, No Sleep, Off... What to do

    Posted: 25 Sep 2018 02:13 PM PDT

I was thinking about changing my set up to connect my ATV straight to my Soundbar so it turns on when I turn on my ATV.

Currently I leave my ATV to not sleep because I feel it has to be for the HomeKit stuff. Is this true?

When I hook up my ATV to my soundbar and turn soundbar off, my ATV also turns off.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

I have a Sony TV and a Bose Soundtouch 300. If only Bose would support AirPlay 2.

iPlayTV takes a lot to change channel (30-60 seg)

    Posted: 25 Sep 2018 01:39 PM PDT

    Hi!

I've just bought iPlayTV for my Apple TV 4k after the recommendations on this subreddit, but seems pretty unusable for me. Everytime I change channel it takes between 30 to 60 segs to load it. Then is pretty stable.

On the other hand, the app Flex IPTV loads the channel almost instantly, but it's quite clumsy in comparison.

Did you have to change any settings? I am using my ISP IPTV channels (multicast)

    Thanks.

    Worth it?

    Posted: 25 Sep 2018 09:36 AM PDT

Hey guys, just ordered a 50" 4K tv and was thinking about getting getting a 4K Apple TV for steaming as my PS4 slim doesn't do the job. Is it worth it? Should I buy new or used? Can I mirror my MacBook Pro screen using the Apple TV? Is there a new one coming out soon?

    Thanks. All help is appreciated.

Anyone else have a faint horizontal scrolling bar overlaid on the UI all of sudden?
