Apple Macbook I have a 13 inch MacBook Air and have always kept it in a MOSISO plastic hard shell case. I decided to take off my case today and after cleaning off any dust/dirt, I noticed that the case had seemed to have left scratches/dings on the underside of my Mac. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thinking of updating - Are new models expected soon?

    Posted: 25 Sep 2018 11:31 PM PDT

I have a 2013 MacBook Air that I've used for podcasting and video editing for the last two years, and while it's been an invaluable companion, it's just not keeping up with some of the more advanced audio and video editing that I'm trying to put it through. I've been thinking about updating to the latest MacBook Pro 13", which I heard was updated in July. Just to make sure, the $1300 model isn't expected to get some update within the next 2 or 3 months, right? I'm not going to kick my own ass for not waiting till the end of the year for something?

Sorry, but I'm starting to slip into old man status where I don't keep up with the annual updates as closely as I did 6 or 7 years ago.

Also, the $1300 MacBook Pro seems like a pretty solid laptop, right? The specs look decent (certainly much better than my 2013 air) and while the more expensive model has the better specs, the Touch Bar doesn't seem like a necessary feature, and I feel like I wouldn't be getting as much bang for my buck.

    Any advice would be appreciated!

Have a new Macbook and an Android phone, no idea how to get the photos to sync the best way...

    Posted: 25 Sep 2018 07:12 PM PDT

So yeah, if I had an iPhone I could use iCloud photo syncing, but in this case, no idea how to get it to work properly, Google Photos seems kind of eh for Macbooks, any suggestions welcome.

Why are people against buying a MacBook?

    Posted: 25 Sep 2018 04:45 AM PDT

So I recently bought a MacBook Pro and I was really excited, but alot of people call me stupid because Its to expensive and you can get the same shit for less.

So now I'm doubting if I made a good purchase.

    Safari previous page gesture lag

    Posted: 25 Sep 2018 09:36 PM PDT

I recently switched from Chrome to Safari on my 13" 2018 mbk pro bc everyone's been saying that Chrome drains much more battery than Safari does. However, whenever I swipe with two fingers to go to previous page in Safari, it goes to the previous page but then freezes for a good 5 seconds, especially on reddit. This doesn't happen in Chrome, and also doesn't happen when I just press the back button in the top left.

    Any solutions?

As a design student, should I buy Macbook Pro now or wait?

    Posted: 25 Sep 2018 02:07 PM PDT

I'm about to buy the new Macbook Pro 15" 2.6 GHz 6-Core, but first I wanted to ask. I will be using it for editing, motion graphics, and graphic design mostly. Should I buy now as they're upgraded recently, or should I wait till the release of new series? Of course it's not logical to act upon rumors about future releases, but could this new releases justify themselves for not waiting?

Is 2015 no touchbar vs 2018 touchbar

    Posted: 25 Sep 2018 09:06 AM PDT

Hey guys , got an offer today for mabook pro 2015 retina 13" i7 3.1GHz boosted to 3.7GHz 16gb ram and 512ssd. On the other hand I got the option of macbook pro 2018 13" i5 quad core 16gb ram and 245 ssd with touchbar. Of curse the 2015 one is cheaper but isn't the year is a problem? Like, 2015 is old or it's just fine to buy it with no concerns? What would you buy if you have this two option? Thanks!

I have a friend who is having trouble installing Windows 10 on his macbook

    Posted: 25 Sep 2018 08:19 AM PDT

So my friend isnt much of a tech inclined person - he recently tried to install Windows 10 barebones on his MacBook v7. That means no boot camp, and no more Mac os. There are so many drivers missing, and for some reason windows 10 won't automatically download them. I am not much of an apple person, but I troubleshoot windows machines on a daily basis, so the first thing that I did was to look up specific drivers online for his particular MacBook. No luck. Everything is pointing to this "boot camp" app that he has no way of getting on his machine as he is not dual booting Mac os.

In theory MacBooks have the same hardware as any other Windows laptop does on the market. The hardware is nothing special - a 5th gen i5 with integrated graphics. I am having trouble understanding what the problem is...

Where do we find these drivers? Does anyone have any advice?

More ram vs better CPU MacBook 13 2017 vs 2018

    Posted: 25 Sep 2018 04:33 AM PDT

I am looking to buy either the 2017 MacBook 13 NTB with 16gb ram or a 2018 MacBook 13 TB with 8gb ram but with the 8th gen i5. I want the laptop to last me as long as possible (3+ years) I will use it for university and creating animation videos, which one should I get? P.S something bothering me about the 2017 models are the keyboard issues. I am someone who eats food while using a laptop at the same time.
