Posted: 26 Jul 2018 09:19 AM PDT problem #1: (Feedback submitted to Apple) I was hoping ios12 b3 would have fixed the Carplay Audio distortion/skipping issue present in ios11 as I've read in feedback here. It certainly has NOT been fixed! The audio distortion playing music from the phone is as bad as it was in 11.3/11.4 and almost unusable. setup: * 2018 Subaru Crosstrek Premium * iPhone7 running ios12 b3 using Apple Lightning cable * playing Music from itunes library. symptoms as you listen to music via Carplay the audio distortion becomes progressively worse with a skipping/staticy sound (like a scratched CD). unusable to the point where I have to unplug and simply use Bluetooth or listen to FM radio. problem #2: (Feedback submitted to Apple) Siri can no longer read or accept text messages via CarPlay. It simply times out and states "try again later". I have a good LTE connection when this occurs. [link] [comments]
[Question] No longer able to tap open a notification? Posted: 26 Jul 2018 09:32 AM PDT Up until I installed iOS 12 beta 3 I was able to single tap open a notification without any swiping from the lockscreen. Is this gone now or do I have a bugged install? Is there any way to change this back through a setting? Thanks [link] [comments]

[Bugs] iOS 12 beta 4 apps stuck downloading Posted: 25 Jul 2018 07:24 PM PDT For the past few days I've been having issues with apps downloading - they start downloading but get stuck, and no number of hard resets is fixing it. I've also tried signing in and out of the App Store. I would just update the apps through iTunes, but this feature has been removed, so I'm a bit stuck unfortunately. I've seen a few other posts which said the issue eventually just went away, but it's been a few days and I'm still having issues. Anyone have any suggestions, or fixes that worked for them? [Bug] iOS 12 public beta 2-4; screen time limitations can be bypassed by hard reboot on iPad models Posted: 25 Jul 2018 01:27 PM PDT My kids discovered this bug and have been using it to bypass screen time limitations. I have their apps set to be disabled after 9pm, and they discovered that simply hard rebooting allows 5 minutes of any app usage regardless of restrictions set in place. This is confirmed to happen on iPad Mini, iPad Air and iPad Pro 10.5; reported on all of them. [link] [comments]

[Question] What happens when iOS 12 releases? Posted: 26 Jul 2018 09:10 AM PDT Do we have the option to go to it or are we stuck on the beta software unless we plug into iTunes? [link] [comments]

[Discussion] Risks (and rewards) of installing iOS 12 Posted: 25 Jul 2018 06:00 PM PDT I've never installed a beta iOS before but am seriously considering taking the leap after getting kind of disgusted with iOS 11.4. I've done lots of beta softwares/OS before, so I'm not a total noob, but those were mostly windows/Linux based. (So basically I'm a noob 😂) I'm pretty good at keeping my phone backed up (on my pc, cloud, etc.). TBH I keep very little data on my phone that is irreplaceable. If I lost or broke my phone, it would be a big annoyance but definitely not a crisis, as all the data can be restored or replaced. Here's what I'm trying to understand. I know that using a beta is not totally risk free, but it seems that by keeping my phone backed up (so that I always have the option of restoring my phone), the risk of using a beta is pretty minimal. Is this an accurate assessment? Thanks for your patience with my question!!!! [link] [comments] |
