So my iPhone 7 has been acting kinda weird lately, it's been overheating, apps crashing constantly, just generally being weird. I restarted my phone today and it normally takes a minute to two minutes to restart, today it took ten. It stayed on the white apple logo and then flicked to a black screen for a few seconds before going back to the apple screen, it repeated this three times or so. After restarting my phone there was no audio on any videos I was taking, so I updated. After updating there's still no audio on any videos I record, there's no audio on my voice memos, when I call someone they cannot hear me and I cannot hear them (the speaker button is also greyed out), and my facetime calls all fail. If I connect to the bluetooth in my car I can make calls normally, but that's so inconvenient. Has anyone else dealt with anything similar? Any advice? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 06 Jun 2018 09:52 PM PDT I'm having trouble with iMessages syncing across devices via the new iCloud feature from iOS 11.4 when activating a new device. I'm using my iPhone X as my main phone which uses an iPhone backup that has followed me since my iPhone 4S and 6. When setting up my old iPhone 6 as a new device to use a a second phone, only 14 MB of message data containing only 16 partial conversations syncs. https://i.imgur.com/ylCjRVU.jpg Can anyone help solve this? Some things to note: - I activated iMessages on iCloud the day of release. - The Messages app in iPhone X constantly says "Uploading to iCloud Paused. Plug in and connect to WiFi". - When plugged in and connected to WiFi, the progress bar stays the same (blank) despite being plugged in every night since the update released. https://i.imgur.com/WiXoVMN.jpg - I have tried signing out of iCloud on iPhone 6 to try to re-initiate the syncing. - I have not tried to disable and delete iMessages on iCloud as I'm afraid it'll permanently delete my messages. | Posted: 06 Jun 2018 04:44 PM PDT I have a 6+ that I tried to repair myself and accidentally made worse. I took it to a local repair shop, and they said they couldn't do anything, as it was the motherboard. I have since purchased an SE, but I'd like to try to repair the plus, just to be able to use it on WiFi. My question is, is it possible to buy all the parts to repair it, like I could for a shell of a PC? I guess, like, take all the insides out, scrap them and start over? I wanted to give it to my little brother as a birthday gift, so i turned it on to set it up for him, (he's 8 btw). But as i turned it on, it asked me to put in the old Apple-ID that was used by the old owner, so i thought (okay, i'll just contact the guy i bought it from. easy.) But i couldn't reach him, and now i'm standing here with an iPhone 7, which i can't give my little brother, and which does not work. So any suggestions? My iPhone still sends iMessages and works as it should. The only thing I've tried so far is to restart my watch with no success. | Photos Showing Wrong Date After Sync To iPhone Posted: 06 Jun 2018 11:16 AM PDT Having a problem when I sync some photos over to my iPhone via iTunes. I import the photos ok and when I go into moments in photos, the date on the photo collection is showing from a few days ago for some reason but the collection was taken in November of last year. I had a look at the image properties and the correct date they were taken is embedded in the metadata, but it's not reading it when it's imported over to the phone for some reason? | Posted: 06 Jun 2018 09:35 AM PDT I plugged my phone in today with my cord that was working perfectly yesterday and it would only charge in certain positions and kept going off and on. I didn't think much of it until I tried another charger and it did the exact same thing. And these cords are working fine on everyone else's phones. Posted: 06 Jun 2018 08:06 AM PDT Hi guys, I have one iPhone 6s and after iOS 11.3 (I'm now on 11.4) I'm facing a terrible problem, on iOS 11.2 I used to go to sleep and 8 hours after my battery was drained about 3-4%, now 8 hours of stand-by drain between 30% - 40% of battery. Low power mode on, airplane mode on and turned off a lot of features, what's going on? My battery health is at 86%! My sister have one iPhone 6s her battery health is at 78% and even with WiFi on it doesn't spend 4% at night... [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 06 Jun 2018 07:32 AM PDT Hello everyone, I was hoping one of you could help me with my little big problem. Today, when I was walking home, I dropped my Iphone from my pocket. The headphone adapter was in it, and with my amazing luck, it fell right on it. Until I got home, I thought that only the adapter was broken, as it had a little bend on the plastic side. But as I soon found out, the charging whole was not working at all. I have a quite good shockproof phone case (Mous), so I don't think the phone suffered any other internal damage aside from the one caused by the adapter jamming inside it. Also, I tried cleaning the hole gently with a thin metal thingy, as I took in consideration the fact that it might be just dirty, but that did not work. In two days I have to leave the city for a week, and I really need a phone, so I don't really have time to take it to repair. I just thought about posting on this Reddit to see if any of the people smarter than me have a solution for this problem, or if anyone else ran into it before I rush to buy a pink flip phone to keep me company during the trip. | iPhone SE not recognising when it's plugged into a computer Posted: 06 Jun 2018 04:17 AM PDT So the simple thing to get out of the way, there are two iPhone SEs in the house, but have always been synced on the same Mac with no issues previously. One has stopped responding when it gets plugged in. It doesn't show that it's charging, it doesn't appear in iTunes, no response at all. The other iPhone will respond instantly. Just to check, cables have been swapped, nothing. It has no issues charging from a power point, so it doesn't seem like a lightning port issue, but I'm not ruling that out yet. Any suggestions? I've checked all the settings I can think of, and they all match up between the iPhone that works and the one that doesn't. The screen was recently replaced at an Apple store (due to a very odd fault with bright sections on the screen, no water damage, done under warranty), I'm hoping I don't need to simply go back, so asking here first. Edit, I've also tried plugging it into multiple other computers, it doesn't respond to any of them, whilst my other iPhone works perfectly on each and every one (both PC and Mac) Thanks all. | Stupid basic question - using DND requires sounds be on, right? Posted: 06 Jun 2018 02:20 AM PDT I prefer to have my sounds muted. Usually the ringer too. My understanding, and I think it is wrong, is that with DND, based on the settings, calls would still come through. But the incoming calls respect the volume button in the side, right? So if I want to hear the calls, I need to enable the switch on the side. With DND, only calls I permit (VIP/Contacts/All) will come through? I also learned about emergency contact settings. That's an individual setting where it will force a ring regardless of the silence setting. Am I understanding this correctly? I have on call obligations for the first time in a few years and can't miss a call. [link] [comments]  |
