Posted: 25 May 2018 04:46 PM PDT The only luck I've had is connecting two Elgato Thunderbolt 2.0 Docks to each other, but that's an expensive solution. Is there a way to get away with using two external non-Thunderbolt monitors to function as extended displays with macOS 10.13.4? [link] [comments] |
Is my replacement battery faulty? Posted: 25 May 2018 05:35 PM PDT Hey guys, running an early 2011 MBP here. Replaced the original battery last week from Microcenter following Apple's dx test. Now I've noticed my laptop always shuts down when the battery reaches 7-10% depending on usage. Is this normal, or should I replace this battery as well? I replaced the battery myself using the instructions from a youtube video, so I'm not sure if maybe I did something incorrectly? I've also tried resetting the SMC based on suggestions from search results–but I'm honestly not sure what that even is or if I even did that part correctly. Any thoughts? EDIT: I've also tried calibrating the battery twice, but that hasn't made any difference either. [link] [comments] |
Free (or cheap) software to make very simple video edits? Posted: 25 May 2018 06:07 AM PDT What I want to do is to just cut certain parts of videos and save them as separate files. I know can quite easily do it on my iPhone with Edit option but I don't like doing stuff like that on my phone. Just need a bit more room for that. Any suggestions? I dont mind paying few quid if its worth it, but very simple tool will do as well. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
2009 MacOS High SIerra SSD issue Posted: 25 May 2018 12:52 PM PDT Can someone help please! I have two 15" 2009 macbook pros. I followed the instruction from dosdude1 (link below) and I was able to install High Sierra on SSD easily on one of them. The I decided to switch to the other mac, so I took the same SSD, ram and the USB drive that I used to install, formatted the SSD to AFPS again to have a fresh install, and I tried to install high siearra but the installation is super slow, I tried so many times still very slow, so I left it over night to install and it finished. Then I installed the post install patches, tried to run it and I got an error about reading kernel links at boot, formatted tried to install it again overnight and the same issues. So I took the old HDD and installed high sierra on it on the same mac and it worked just fine with a quick install. Can Someone help me why I am not able to use the SSD on the second MAC although they are both identical?? [link] [comments] |
