    Saw something similar on r/iOS but noticed that it's more practical with an X because of Face ID.

    If you go to Settings>Face ID & Passcode and turn off "Control Centre" and "Today View" under the lock screen settings, those functions are disabled until your Face is scanned, thus preventing people from prying.

    It sort of acts as an extension to the hidden notifications.

    You can also disable Siri if you're concerned about a potential thief being able to enable aeroplane mode and render Find My iPhone useless.

    New iPhone X, random swiping to the right. Should I be concerned?

    I bought the iPhone X a couple of hours ago and love it, however I was just organising my home page and the screen suddenly started swiping all the way to the right by itself. When I swiped back to the left, it'd swipe straight back to the right again, all the way until the end of my home screens.

    I restarted the phone and this stopped, however I'm still a little bit weirded out. There's a screen protector on the phone but it's one of the official ones sold at the Apple Store, they fitted it in on for me with a specialised machine. Also I doubt this had anything to do with it, but zoom was for some reason enabled in accessibility.

    Should I be concerned about this considering I've just spent £1150 on the phone, or is it a common bug simply to do with iOS? Thanks

    Apple CarPlay Concerns

    I recently got a new car with Apple CarPlay which works amazing. Whenever I take my phone out after driving for a while, my iPhone is pretty hot, like uncomfortably hot. Is this gonna damage my phone? I know the heat could fuck the battery. Unsure if this is normal?!

    My phone has water damage. Anyone knows how much Apple charges To trade for a new one or repair it?

    Just entered the pool with my phone for about 2-3 seconds and it broke almost instantly.

    As the warranty does not cover water damage, Apple Brazil offered to trade my phone for a new one, charging about 40% of the retail price.

    Anyone knows how does that work in Apple USA? How much they'll charge for that trade? For the record, I don't have Apple Care.

    Any certified third party USB-C to Lightning?

    I've been burned in the past by cheap non certified Lightning cables dying randomly. So I now only buy certified ones.

    Are there any third party USB-C to Lightning cables that are certified available? Or should I just buy the Apple cable? I am skeptical of all the cables on Amazon.

    Editing full screen video

    I love the screen recording feature, but after recording what I want, how do I cut out the beginning and end where it shows me turning the recorder on without losing the full screen aspect ratio? If I plug the clip into iMovie app, it'll no longer be full screen... which I'd like it to be, the phone being the X and all.

    True Tone

    I am using True Tone from last week. Now I feel it is better than normal screen.

    But I want to know will it work while watching videos because it makes screen yellowish and watching movies will effect the true colours of video.

    This has persisted through two phones 7 & X. Every time I reach about 75% of space usage for music itunes is unable to keep up with the album covers and instead loads the music with different album covers, i.e. all the tracks I loaded today (450) have one of three album cover from James Brown though none of the tracks are James Brown tracks. Anyone else experiencing this?

    Battery usage time same as stand-by time?

    I have had this problem since a month and it's coming back each day now. I can fix it for a short time by doing a hard reset. However, half a day later it's back again... I already logged out from iCloud to see if it works. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    So at first I was debating between an iPhone X and a S9+ but a lot of people advised if I wanted an Android, get a Pixel.

    I have a iPhone 6S and I love iOS but am getting a bit bored. I'm locked into the ecosystem (macbook, tv, iPad, watch) but I don't often use 2 devices together. And if I switched it'd give me an excuse to sell my watch which I've been considering anyway.

    I wouldn't miss iMessage or FaceTime because I have no friends, I'd miss Safari and a couple of exclusive apps (Airmail, Apollo, Fantastical) but if I could get similar apps on Android I'd be happy with that.

    I'm particularly enticed by the Pixel's camera...and price. Also it seems to be the phone capable of taking diehard iPhone users who don't seem to regret the switch. But if you have made the switch and regret it, please let me know why!

    I want whichever phone I decide to last me at least 2/3 years, and top of my importance list is camera, performance/speed and display. Thanks for any advice!

    Rapid battery health decrease

    100% to 99% in 6 months and then after updating to 11.3.1 form 99% to now 96% in 1 week

    Is there something wrong with my battery or its just the OS ?
