    Wireless Charging Issue (Auto-disconnect/Not Working)

    Posted: 24 May 2018 12:15 PM PDT

I'm pretty sure this is either a software bug or a hardware issue.

When I put my iPhone X on a wireless charger and it completes a full charge (100%) in the morning, my wireless charger will no longer charge my phone again in the afternoon (10%) until I unplug and plug in my wireless charger again.

Usually, a smartphone will send a signal to the wireless charger to stop charging when the smartphone reaches 100% but for some reason the iPhone isn't sending a signal to the wireless charger again when it's at 10%, so I'm forced to reset the wireless charger...

    • Tried using 2 different QI certified wireless charger
    • Tried swapping out USB cable in case original one was faulty

    Anyone having the same issue?

Edit: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8186505 Seems like some other people are having a similar problem.

    Auto scrolling up!

    Posted: 24 May 2018 06:22 AM PDT

My phone just randomly out of nowhere scrolls up. I could be in text messages, fb messenger, Reddit etc.. and just like that I see the screen rapidly scroll to the top. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

How practical is fast charging vs normal?

    Posted: 24 May 2018 11:58 AM PDT

So I've already compared speed tests and this is probably a dumb question, but my indecisiveness is causing anxiety so I'm going to ask it anyway. For anyone that has done the 29w+ charger with USB c cable for fast charging, how useful have you found it to be? From my understanding it only really charges much faster when battery levels are at low levels, so from the tests I've seen to reach 100% charge on a 12w vs 29w is minimal. I work a desk job, so it's not like I don't have access to a wall charger most of the day, but like anyone the less I have to use it with a cord attached the better. Right now I have a 6 foot braided Anker cable that I use with a 10w charger. If I were to get a quick charger I would prefer to get all apple, as the Anker charger blocks just always feel cheaper, even though I've used them before and never had an issue with one breaking. Ideally I'd prefer ankers braided cable over the Apple one, as apple cables feel cheap, and I always find the rubbery coating to be kind of sticky which I hate. My daily carry would be an apple watch, jaybird runs, and iPhone x. If I get an apple 29w charging block that also means I'd have to carry a separate USB charging block at all times in addition to the USB c. I've seen that Anker does make a USB 3.0 and USB c combined charger, but it's more expensive than the original apple, and again, I just find their charging blocks to feel light and cheap feeling. So what I'm considering:

Option 1: keep current 10w charger and lightning cable, charge slower but don't have to spend anything and would be carrying less

Option 2: spend $80 for an apple quick charger, deal with cheaper feeling cable but be able to charge faster. Also have to carry separate block for earbuds and watch

Option 3: spend $85, get Anker dual USB c and USB 3.0 block. Deal with a cheaper feeling block and spend slightly more, but charge faster and don't have to carry separate block

Option 4: upgrade to 12w charger for $20, get slightly better speed, but have to spend more money down the road to eventually get a quick charger.

Tldr: is quick charging really that convenient? Is it worth $80 and the inconvenience of not being able to use the block for other devices?

A1901 vs A1865 on Verizon issues?

    Posted: 24 May 2018 11:28 AM PDT

Just wondering if anyone has a problem with the A1901 connectivity wise with reception and data. Looking to get an X for a friend and I'm wondering if it's really a problem?

Read a few articles and videos stating that the A1865 is superior in every way in terms of connectivity but is it really that bad or noticeable?

Add Exchange 365 folder in mail?

    Posted: 24 May 2018 11:09 AM PDT

Hi, I'm working with a client that has an iPhone X and wants some of his folders from his Exchange 365 email account on his mail app. I have looked around and found that back in the day it was as easy as selecting his Exchange mail account, tapping on "Mail folders to push", choosing the folder and boom, you're done. Not so anymore it seems as he could not find the "Mail folders to push" setting anywhere. Is there a way of getting his folders to sync to his Apple mail app so he can view them on the go?

I apologize if this is a stupid question. Working in IT sometimes means that you rarely seen an iPhone so I am not very familiar with specific settings

    EDIT: Mail App, not account

Problem with my X. Static instead of audio in some recorded videos.

    Posted: 24 May 2018 09:42 AM PDT

I went to a concert a couple of nights ago and recorded some short video clips. Out of the 10 video clips that I recorded, 7 of them just have quiet static instead of audio. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Minimalistic case?

    Posted: 23 May 2018 09:43 PM PDT

    Hello!

I really dig the iPhone X's silhouette and glass panel, and I'm wondering if anyone has found a minimal/invisible/durable good case that doesn't cover the back and has a good front cover?

I don't like bulky cases because they make the phone too big for me, like Otterbox. I know this is kind of "chooser beggar' situation but just wondering if anyone has found a similar case that fits the description. I really want to use the phone without a case, but i'm afraid of scratches and possibly dropping it.

No text effects? On my last iPhone I could hold down the blue up arrow (send arrow) to pull up text effect options. Nothing happens when I hold down the arrow on my iPhone X. Is there a different process? Or is this feature not available?

Video from front camera of iPhoneX is very shaky. Is there any app which can stabilize this?

    Posted: 24 May 2018 07:28 AM PDT

Okay so I've made up my mind!

    Posted: 23 May 2018 11:15 PM PDT

I posted here not too long ago saying that I wanted to upgrade from my S8 plus to a iPhone x and I went and saw one in store and I think I'm just going to get the x because I can wait for the new iPhone until next year.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

    Posted: 24 May 2018 03:23 AM PDT

Phone will drop internet connectivity at random times and a reboot will fix it. Switching off/on WiFi and cellular doesn't help. Apps will just stop loading or installing. Granted I am on an older firmware 11.1.2 so it could be a software influenced issue.
