iPad iPad Pro Sleeve wearing out

    iPad Pro Sleeve wearing out

    Posted: 07 May 2018 09:07 AM PDT

Does anyone else have an issue where the leather iPad Pro sleeve pencil slot begins to wear out and makes it hard to put in the pencil cap into the holder? I tried speaking to Apple to cover it under my Apple care plus accessories clause but they refused. I'm not sure what else I can do about it. It makes it super hard to slide the pencil in quickly and I have to fidget with it to click in the pencil which only wears it out more.

Edit: After several calls and advisors hanging up or ending the chat on me, I finally got through to Senior Advisor Justin the MVP who said it was indeed covered by the accessories warranty and that I should not have been sent to their engineering team but replaced outright! 🙂

Best way to get camera footage onto an iPad for editing?

    Posted: 07 May 2018 07:41 AM PDT

I really like LumaFusion for editing video. But what's the best way for getting footage onto the iPad when you've shot it on a camera?

I gather there's a lightning to SD card reader... will that work with video footage?

What if the footage is already saved on an external hard drive – what's the best way to get that on the iPad?

    Goodreader for rented textbooks

    Posted: 07 May 2018 05:37 AM PDT

I'm interested in purchasing goodreader on my iPad 2018 to use for grad school. I was curious if anyone new of a platform I can rent the textbook with then view it in goodreader?

I'm interested in other solutions as well if they exist.

What to do with 2 iPads?

    Posted: 07 May 2018 05:13 AM PDT

I have an iPad Pro (12.9") and a corresponding Apple Pencil. They work great together. I'm totally amazed by the accuracy of the Pencil. I also have a iPad Mini 4, which I got from my son who didn't need it when he got an iPhone 8+.

So I thought I would try using the iPad Mini 4 as my primary digital note taking "paper" at work. Unfortunately, the Apple Pencil is not compatible with the Mini and carrying around the big 12.9" device is frankly cumbersome (yes, even at the office). So I got a nice stylus and thought I would try Noteability on my iPad Mini using this stylus. Nope. Not gonna work - just doesn't write as cleanly or as fluidly as the Apple Pencil.

My question for you all is - given the set of circumstances noted above, what would you do with these 2 iPads? The iPad Pro 12.9" is a really great device, and the iPad Mini is more easily portable. I use the iPad Pro as my primary gaming device as well (in addition to HBO, You Tube, etc.). If I have the Mini for note taking, and now that's not gonna work (or will it???), then what is the point of having 2 iPads?

Need some insight from you guys. Thoughts on note taking? Options? Do I sell the iPad Mini? Both? Trade in for the 10.5" iPad Pro??? Thanks!

Need honest opinion..Is the 2018 IPad worth $80 more than the 2017?

    Posted: 07 May 2018 07:41 AM PDT

Hello all...my 4th gen finally played out and I need to replace it. Walmart has the lowest price I've found on a 2017 5th gen at $249 but I know the 2018 $329 has the better chip but everything else the same? Although I'm in college, I wont be using it to draw or take notes probably so the pencil capability isn't a big deal for me. Would I be ok with the 5th gen with Apple updating it for a few more years or is it worth the $80 more to go ahead and get the 2018 version? Please help me make a decision, I'm driving myself crazy over thinking all of this! )

Ipad stuck in guided access mode

    Posted: 07 May 2018 05:55 AM PDT

I have a old iPad 3 which the child uses to watch YouTube. I have guided access enabled. Recently the home button broke and I have been using the accessibility switches as a alternative to the home button somehow my daughter managed to enable guided access and now I can't get it off as the home button is broke (usually you press the home button 3 times which brings up your password input)

    Any suggestions?

    How is Total War Rome?

    Posted: 07 May 2018 01:13 PM PDT

So, i got a Ipad 2018 two weeks ago and want to play a "real" game on it. I've never played anything of the series, but I'm very familiar with AOE2.

Does it play well on the Ipad and is it worth to begin with?

Want to replace my Laptop on a budget - is the 2017 (refurb) or 2018 iPad suitable?

    Posted: 07 May 2018 07:37 AM PDT

My laptop is basically on the way out and no longer portable. If I got an iPad, are there any particular weak areas that would make me regret the purchase? What is it that an iPad CAN'T do really?

Is there any reason to have both an Ipad Pro and a Macbook?

    Posted: 06 May 2018 05:03 PM PDT

    This for purely selfish reasons.

I was like to my friend "I really need an Ipad Pro" and she was like "Whats the point? You already have a MacBook (air). Are you really gonna use both?"

So any pro-users and MacBook-user can you help me? What are the benefits of having both a pro and a MacBook? Which one do you use most often? What do you use your MacBook for and what do you use your Ipad for that you couldn't use the other for?

iPad App: Trimming Videos (Video source: NAS) - Is this possible?

    Posted: 07 May 2018 07:05 AM PDT

    Hi,

i am looking for an App which can do the following:

    • Access video files stored on my Synology NAS

    • Trim these videos (i don't need more video editing features, only trimming)

    • Save the trimmed video files back to the Network Storage

I found LumaFusion which seems to be able to do this. Even though 20 Bucks seems worthy for the app, maybe there is a more niche app that is less expensive (because for my use case, LumaFusion seems to be overkill).

    thanks in advance

Anyone else wish they could take beautiful notes like the notes we see in the iPad commercials?

    Posted: 07 May 2018 09:45 AM PDT

Or on apples website when they're demo'ing pencil functionality.

Well made and works great. Just wish it lit up more. I thought the blue part would light up like a UFO. I do like it though and use it all the time.

Help Choosing an iPad to buy

    Posted: 06 May 2018 01:54 PM PDT

I'm looking at getting an iPad to supplement my iPhone for use at home. It will be used mainly for gaming and streaming video. Can anyone share first-hand experience on the iPad they currently use and any words of wisdom on iPad models or sellers to avoid? I'm currently leaning towards a new 128GB 6th generation iPad for $459 through Amazon. I have ~150 of Amazon gift cards which make it the most beneficial site through which to order.

My price comparison so far: 2017 Refurbished iPad 128 GB $309 on apple.com

2017 New iPad 128 GB $379 on Amazon

2018 Used iPad 128 GB $391 on Amazon with shipping

    2018 New iPad 128 GB $429 on apple.com, $459 on Amazon

    iPad Pro 10.5" 64 GB $649 on apple.com, $590 on Amazon

    iPad Pro 10.5" 256 GB $799 on apple.com, $729 on Amazon
