    [Tip] How to (most likely) fix your overheating/freezing/crashing problems with Electra.

    Hello,

    I have a 6s on 11.1.2. My jailbreak was very smooth and there was no freezing, etc, but when I updated to Electra 1.0.4, Tweak Injector 1.0.6, and Substitute 0.0.6, I started experiencing overheating and freezing. Here is what I did and what you could try to fix this problem:

    • Backup a list of your tweaks using a tweak such as [[Flame]]
    • Install SemiRestore11-Lite from the "Electra's iOS Utilities" repo
    • In a terminal application (ex: NewTerm 2), run "su" and put in your password (default password is "alpine")
    • Run "cd /usr/bin"
    • Run "bash SemiRestore11-Lite"
    • After that is done and resprings, use Delectra to remove your jailbreak completely: https://github.com/KirovAir/delectra (instructions on how to use it are on the Github page)
    • Reboot your device after Delectra finishes up
    • Sideload Electra version 1.0.2 onto your device
    • Open the app and press "Jailbreak." Wait for it to install Cydia, etc.
    • Once your device resprings and Cydia appears on your screen, install the following manually in this exact order: First install Substitute 0.0.5, then install Tweak Injector 1.0.3, and then install the latest version of Substrate Compatibility Layer using Cydia. The reason they have to be installed in this order is because Tweak Injector depends on Substitute, so you have to install Substitute first, and Substrate Compatibility Layer depends on Tweak Injector, so you have to install Tweak Injector second.     • You can move these files to your device by SSHing using Cyberduck, WinSCP, etc. on the computer; I would recommend putting the deb files for Substitute and Tweak Injector inside of the "/electra" directory. After putting them in that folder, you can either install these deb files using Cyberduck or WinSCP, or if you have a Mac, open Terminal, SSH into your device, run "cd /electra," then run "dpkg -i NAMEOFDEBFILE.deb." Do this for both Substitute and Tweak Injector.
    • After Substitute 0.0.5 and Tweak Injector 1.0.3 are installed, open Cydia and install the latest version of Substrate Compatibility Layer.

    After you have completed all of these steps, you are officially done and can now install tweaks that you know are safe and that are compatible with iOS 11! I used this method to delete Electra and then reinstall it on my iPhone 6s when I was experiencing freezes/overheating and now my phone is running very smoothly again. This should most likely work for you because Electra 1.0.2, Tweak Injector 1.0.3, and Substitute 0.0.5 are known to be the most stable versions. Although some people get major battery drain on their devices with Tweak Injector 1.0.3, it has proven to be more stable than other updates. Hopefully this helps you out!

    The exploit i.e, async_awake, used in this jailbreak, could be the cause of this or the Electra jailbreak as the whole, that is faulty? Sorry if this sounds too noob for some of you folks out there.

    I have been dealing with this issue for months now. Usually every 15-20 minutes the screen goes unresponsive, and I have found that softly tapping the volume button side of the phone on my thigh while the screen is off will fix it temporarily, but this can't possibly be good for the phone in the long run.

    I've read in multiple places that this is a software issue, and that upgrading to the latest iOS will fix it, but I don't want to risk losing my jailbreak for a "possible" fix. Does anyone know of a tweak that can fix this issue?

    I just bought an old AT%T unlocked iphone which apperently doesnt work with the swedish carrier Telenor. I saw something online about jailbreaking with redsn0w and unlocking it that way. Is this possible? If so how? IOS 7.0.2 Edit: Forgot that it is an Iphone 4 not 5.

    [Question] Downgrading iPad Mini (first gen) won't let me update to ios 8.4.1

    Backstory: I ended up finding my ipad Mini first gen that I had lost two years ago under a pile of books on my shelf (it gets cluttered up there). To my dismay, I found that it was on 9.3.5 which meant there were no untethered jailbreaks, but upon later researching discovered I could use a semi-untethered JB (Phoenixpwn) and change the systemversion.plist to downgrade to ios 6 and then update again to ios 8.4.1. And Lo and behold, it worked... Until I realized that after I rebooted the device (as per instructions) that although I spoofed the device to sense i was on ios 6 and give me an ios 8.4.1 update, for some reason the damn thing just won't install. It's on the software update page and it just continues to read "Download and installing". I know that most people haven't done this, and the ones that have are probably going to tell me to use OdysseusOTA2 but I am running windows so this was my only option. Worst case scenario though would just be me re-sideloading Pheonixpwn with a modified ipa and putting some custom offsets in it :/

    Any help is appreciated.

    TD;LR; Tried downgrading to 8.4.1 from 9.3.5 by editing a file after a semi-jailbreak, spoofed system to prompt the update, says it is installing but has been like that for hours.

    [Discussion] Fully functional night mode for stock music app using MyMusic+ and NoctisXI

    i was messing around and i finally found out how to get night mode working on the stock music app without hiding any elements (trying to skin the music app often obscures the text on the in app now playing bar, along with making text in the search bar invisible and the triple dot menu elements invisible.)

    UNDER NOCTIS:

    enable the stock music app under smart invert

    UNDER MY MUSIC PLUS:

    under color options:

    set the primary font color to anything except black or white

    set the theme tint color to anything except black or white

    basically by making nothing black or white it's impossible for noctis to make anything inverted that would in turn make it invisible.

    just across this combo and thought id share.

    So, I am using CarBridge (Awesome by the way) and I am trying to create some CarPlay tweaks. Just simple things like making the Labels bigger on Now Playing and things like that. Can anyone shed some light on how to do this? I have never really made my own patch before.
