Connect Samsung Anynet+ to AppleTV? Posted: 05 May 2018 01:26 AM PDT Hey, can anyone help me with this? I have a Samsung UA55JU7000. I just want to be able to control HDMI input with my AppleTV remote. Anynet+ is on in my TV settings, but I don't understand what to do from here. It allows me to search for devices, but nothing happens from there. It finds "Player" but can't connect to it. [link] [comments]

Chromecast still better than Airplay? Posted: 04 May 2018 06:46 AM PDT I use both, but I find myself defaulting to Chromecast (even from my iPad and MacBooks) because it allows me to do other things on my device while casting (ie: watch another youtube vid on my iPad while casting Netflix etc). Why doesn't Airplay allow this? Will Airplay2 change anything? [link] [comments]
Dolby Vision flashes black screen randomly w/ Apple TV 4k Posted: 04 May 2018 09:43 AM PDT I know there has been a number of discussions about the black levels with Dolby Vision. This is not that :) I'm finding that when connecting my Apple TV 4k directly (receiver using ARC) to my TCL 55P607, the screen (and audio) will drop for maybe ~100ms. Sometimes it can go minutes without any interruption, and other times it can happen a few times in a very short period of time. Here is an example. But when I switch to HDR, it doesn't seem to happen at all. I've tried several different cables, most recently this one. Also, Dolby Vision natively from the embedded Roku doesn't have this problem, which makes me think there is an issue with the Apple TV. Anyone else experiencing this on either the TCL or other 4k TVs? Better yet: any suggestions on how to fix? Edit: linking video example to YouTube. Sorry I'm a Reddit noob. [link] [comments]
Casting Android/iOS app screen to Apple TV Posted: 04 May 2018 02:58 PM PDT Hey all, I am trying to figure out if it is possible to cast an Andoird and iOS app to Apple TV screen. I know you can do this with Google Cast (any TV with Android OS?) but not sure if I can do it with Apple TV. Does anyone have any insight on this? [link] [comments]
Problems with Acorn TV streaming? Posted: 04 May 2018 11:25 AM PDT I can't get the videos on Acorn TV to play when I'm watching on my Apple 4K. I also subscribe to Netflix, Crave and Prime which are all working perfectly. I've tried reaching out to Acorn without any success. The Acorn application seems to function in every way except when it comes to actually playing the video. It doesn't seem to be a log in issue because I can watch the videos on my phone with the same login. Does anyone have any troubleshooting ideas? I have tried, uninstalling and reinstalling Acorn, resetting the Apple TV and I've logged in and out a dozen times hoping for some magic but all without any change. [link] [comments]
Unable to upgrade movie to 4K? Posted: 04 May 2018 02:44 PM PDT I got a code redeemable for selection of movies on Vudu. So I select Baby Driver, which propagates over to my iTunes account via Movies Anywhere. On iTunes this is available in 4K, but apparently the code is for HD. Before anyone tells me about licensing, I get it, the code is only for HD, I accept that. But a few years ago, I redeemed a DVD code for digital, and it gave me the SD copy, but I was still able to go into iTunes and buy the HD version myself. However, for some reason, when I try to buy Baby Driver in iTunes in 4k (both iPhone and Mac), it won't let me, says I already own it in HD. Why is there no way to just buy the 4K version? I tried disconnecting my Movies Anywhere account, but I guess movies are permanent and not a temporary link, so it stays there afterwards. Does anyone know another way I can buy it?
