But day by day, this phone is blowing my mind! Like I didn't realize phones today are faster than computers (it's because of the SSD, but still). Also the way all the apps work together so fluidly in IOS 10 and 11 is absolutely staggering. I didn't realize TouchID worked SO well! And as a musician, the fact that Apple has a FREE app, Garage Band, that appears to be just as good as FL Studio or comparable DAWs for FREE just because I own an iPhone...it's amazing. I've never really been able to seriously pursue writing music because I didn't have access to a program like Frooty Loops or Ableton - but now I can. ...AND THIS THING CAN RECORD THE SCREEN?! | Posted: 10 Apr 2018 07:05 AM PDT Hello, I bought a new iPhone X (Silver, 64 GB) around 2 weeks ago. I've been having a charging port problem since I've gotten it. It happens randomly. When I'm charging my iPhone, and I attempt to pick it up/move it (while it's connected and charging) it will make the charging noise several times as if I were to re-plug it back in. This has also been happening to my headphones, again it happens unexpected, but at times while listening to music with the phone in my pocket It would pause the music as if were to unplug it or it would play out loud through the speakers. If I click play again, the sound is played through the phone speakers. Another thing I've noticed is that when I'm browsing through my phone, with headphones on and no music playing. It will make a static thump noise whenever I switch apps. The cables I've been using are the original ones that came with the phone and every single one has this problem. The dongle, the charging cable, and the earpods. I've also tried to charge it in different outlets, and same problem still occurs. Which leads me to believe that my lightning port is faulty. I do not have AppleCare. Am I eligible for a replacement? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Apple Leather Cases Loses Its "Gloss"? Posted: 10 Apr 2018 05:05 AM PDT I purchased my leather case in midnight blue 6 months ago and while it has darkened beautifully, I notice that somehow the sides are more "matte" looking compared to the back. I figure that the leather has worn off since the sides get in contact with my hand way more frequently compared to the back. I have applied leather conditioner evenly to the case to restore its "gloss" but no luck so far. Does anyone have the same problem after a while? | Posted: 10 Apr 2018 05:02 AM PDT I've been trucking along with my iPhone 6S for 3 years now and I think it is finally pretty much kaput - everything is unbelievably slow and after 3 battery replacements I'm finally at a point where I can literally see my battery ticking down percent by percent in real life. Long story short, I'm going to upgrade. My choice is going to be an X or an 8, and I was basically wondering if users of each would mind listing why I should/shouldn't go for either? I'll be doing a 24-month payment plan so the price difference isn't even the biggest factor for me here (although obv the 8 is a bit cheaper) [link] [comments]  | ||

| Posted: 10 Apr 2018 05:09 AM PDT So I got my iPhone X with xfinity mobile last year, and I've regretted it since my first day. First of all, they tell you that Verizon and them have the same LTE coverage and all that, but I heavily doubt it, back when I was on my parents' plan, Verizon worked for me everywhere, with xfinity I'm lucky if I'm getting LTE in the main part of town. So I'm wondering, would it be illegal to unlock my phone through a third party, and switch to another carrier? I'd still continue to make payments on the phone with XFinity, I just want another carrier. Plus, my girlfriend got me an LTE series 3 for Christmas, that I have not been able to use since xfinity doesn't support them. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I really want to make sure. Posted: 10 Apr 2018 06:15 AM PDT Even though I'm only deploying one iPhone I've been searching for a way to deploy an iPhone "image" the way a corporate IT department might deploy hundreds of laptops. You may wonder my reasoning. I'm not sure restoring an iPhone from a backup doesn't bring back the issues trying to be remedied. If I could effortlessly deploy a new iPhone install with a couple of clicks and have all my apps, music, and settings configured that would be great. Anyone know of something like this? | I hate the App Store Search Ads Posted: 09 Apr 2018 09:27 PM PDT I reformatted my phone to get a fresh start and went to redownload my favorite apps and had no idea how had these ads are now. Searched for Pocket Casts, some app called Castro 2 is the first result. Search for my streaming app PCRadio, Simple Radio is first at the top. Searched for Lingodeer, the App I'm using to study Mandarin, a Japanese leaning app is the top result! Why?!? I have no idea who thought it would be a neat idea to never show you the App you actually wanted as the top result, but it's driving me crazy as I used to just hit search and automatically tap the first app because it was, 99% of the time, the one I was looking for. Posted: 10 Apr 2018 06:10 AM PDT As in title, I'm using EarBuds I've got with my phone because they've got a microphone and sound okay. But if I use them for a longer time they're getting loose, I've got to clean my ears with tissue and reseat them. It's kinda gross but didn't have issues with old Phillips earphones that we're sticking into the canal. And yes, I'm cleaning my ears - they're just getting sweaty while using EarBuds because they're plastic. I've heard there are silicone covers for them that eliminate this problem but couldn't find any on Amazon. Any ideas? [link] [comments]  | ||

Basically, the left side of my phone started to dim for some reason, and all that was left was a dark patch in the bottom left corner. The touch screen is still working completely. I have a few questions regarding this. What can be done with this patch? Will it start working by itself, or does this need a repair? One thing to mention is that my phone screen has been replaced by a third party (not apple) in Poland, and has covered me with a warranty for a year, but unfortunately I am not in Poland at this moment. | iPhone X occasionally completely hangs Posted: 09 Apr 2018 10:26 PM PDT I've noticed this issue across a few versions of iOS now and I'm wondering if anyone else maybe has encountered the same. Occasionally, my iPhone X completely freezes or keeps crashing apps. This mostly happens with Spotify. Randomly, it will freeze as soon as I click a song; the phone will then respond to nothing any more. Sometimes I have to force restart the phone, sometimes there will be a minutes-delay between the buttons I press / things I click on screen: then all at once the phone will start registering all the inputs I've done a few minutes ago (such as swiping up to close the app) I'm wondering whether this might have to do something with iOS or rather with the phone.
