Workflow to "forget" Apple Pencil to prolong battery life? Posted: 13 Apr 2018 07:02 AM PDT I'm looking for an easier way to turn off the Apple Pencil when I don't need it. Right now I'm going into Bluetooth settings and forgetting it, but it's a bunch of steps and it seems like I should be able to automate. If you have a workflow for this, please share! I feel like Office finally integrating with Files is a game changer. Posted: 12 Apr 2018 11:12 PM PDT Like is says above. Since I got the iPad (which is more or less my "work desk"; I almost never use tithe actual computer in my office), I almost exclusively used Pages and Numbers, first because of the ease of use with iCloud, and later, because we could finally logically arrange things in Files. Office on the other hand was always clunky in dealing with files. Originally, you could save files on the iPad (with no folders), or in OneDrive (but that needed an internet connection I don't always have; at least there were folders!). Later, you could save folders and files for offline use in OneDrive, but even that was a bit clunky. And now, finally, we have Office and OneDrive truly integrated. Now I can easily save things, move them around, throw them into my online OneDrive folders or whatever, and it all works through Files. For me, this is a game changer, and let's me more or less move over to Office, which is important. I do have to share files, formatting between Pages and Word is sometimes off; Excel is much more robust than Numbers. So, hats off to MS; took them a while, but they've definitely made me happy. Digital Artist, which iPad should I buy? Posted: 13 Apr 2018 08:38 AM PDT Hello guys, I'm interested in getting an iPad and an Apple pencil for casual, self entertain sketching and painting. I currently own a Wacom Intous and a Wacom Cintiq 13HD. Which iPad should I pick? [link] [comments]
iPad artists using Procreate; Is it really the go to drawing app? Posted: 13 Apr 2018 08:37 AM PDT It's the highest gross paid drawing app but it's average score is only 4.0, it appears to have some notable problems. Average scores of other drawing popular drawing apps have much higher average ratings, so what keeps people buying Procreate instead? [link] [comments]

Suggestions for eReader (epub, pdf, mobi) which as One Drive sync? (Other than PDF Expert) Posted: 13 Apr 2018 01:17 PM PDT Marvin3, or plenty other apps have dropbox support or none at all, is there any app which has OneDrive sync? Other than PDFExpert (* it doesn't read epub (and mobi iirc)) I stress on OneDrive, because I need the cross platform (use Android, Windows, iOS) + The folder size for my material crosses free limits of dropbox, google drive. Had to take the yearly plan for 365 (iPP 10.5") Thank you in advance [link] [comments]
How do I annotate PDFs in Goodnotes/Notability and/or how can I change low PDF quality in OneNote Posted: 13 Apr 2018 12:43 PM PDT I just bought the new iPad for university and used OneNote to take notes in the lectures. We are working with PDF presentations and what I really liked about OneNote is that it gives me the ability to have space on the right side of the PDF page so that I can take some notes. However the app itself has some problems, my main problem is that my imported PDFs are all of very low quality and I can't seem to find a fix around it. Does anyone know a solution? I tried Notability and GoodNotes as alternatives and while they have a good quality pdf printout they lack the feature to write next to the document as far as I know. Or is there a way to do this? Help would be greatly appreciated, thank you! [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Apr 2018 01:50 AM PDT Hey guys, I was wondering if you guys could help me organize the Files App in order to make the most of it. I feel like its a powerful tool that I'm not utilizing well enough. Right now I only have a few folders setup in the iCloud server. Can you use other servers with it as well? I really just want to use it more efficiently. [link] [comments]
Has anyone upgraded from Mini 4 to the new iPad 9.7? Posted: 12 Apr 2018 07:04 PM PDT Looking for impressions and opinions on this upgrade. Mini is life and it kills me to think of being without it for gaming, streaming etc. considering he new Ipad as an upgrade. [link] [comments]
Torn between which accessory to get for the iPad Pro? Go with the Smart Keyboard Posted: 12 Apr 2018 05:13 PM PDT I've had the iPad Pro 10.5 for a few months now. When I went to buy it I wasn't sure whether to get the pencil or the Smart Keyboard. I don't have any specific use of the ipad, I just needed a new ipad. I played around with both the Smart Keyboard and the pencil in the store and thought they were both cool but I ultimately chose the pencil simply because it was cheaper. The pencil is great! If you draw I can't imagine not having it. But for most of us, there's not really much use for it. I find myself struggling to find uses for the pencil. I just got the Smart Keyboard and already I can tell I am going to use the hell out of it. First, when docked, it puts the ipad at the perfect viewing angle, Second, its great having all the extra screen real estate while typing. It's amazing how large even the 10.5 screen is. If you are between the two accessories and are not an artist, I would say absolutely go with the Smart Keyboard. And if you are budget strapped check out some of the used deals on eBay. Posted: 12 Apr 2018 04:32 PM PDT I'm looking for a good PDF reader for iPad (preferably free or low cost) which allows me to do the following:
I'm currently using iBooks and surprisingly it cannot do these, especially the two-page view! [link] [comments]
Bought a 9.7" for sketching. Do I need a screen protector? Posted: 12 Apr 2018 02:45 PM PDT I picked up a 2018 iPad, and I'm already sketching a lot. My question is, do I need a screen protector? I'd rather not use one...but if intensive sketching will result in scratches, I'll use one. The Pencil's nib seems pretty soft, but I don't want to take any chances. Thanks! Update: thanks for the all the help and suggestions. This was a surprisingly tough decision! I went w/ an Anker. Few people recommended and they had a great price. Appreciate the help! Best free handwritten Note-taking app for the iPad Pro? Posted: 12 Apr 2018 03:44 PM PDT Are there any free apps that are actual good and sleek for note taking with the Apple Pencil? I have penultimate but the design of the app looks a bit dull for my taste. [link] [comments] |
