    iOS Gaming Before Bed Games?

    iOS Gaming Before Bed Games?

    Before Bed Games?

    Posted: 12 Apr 2018 01:55 AM PDT

Pretty niche category, but I'm looking for games that a relaxing and slow paced. Not something that requires too much timing or reflex (trying to go to sleep here).

Fallout Shelter and Ironfish are my top two games that really embody what I'm looking for. However, Fire Emblem Heroes, Game Dev Tycoon, Cardinal Quest 2, and Minecraft have all filled this need for me.

I'm looking for something that can be played for 5-30 mins (maybe longer if I can't sleep).

I like a good sense of progression and basebuilding. The cherry on top - weird as it may be - is a game where I can put my ingame character to bed. I don't know why, but I find it very gratifying when I put my character to bed, turn my phone of, close my eyes and go to sleep.

Any suggestions that would be great. I'm also interested in what kind of games play before bed, if they don't go along with my specifications. Or just a general discussion of pre-sleep gaming.

Edit: Thank you all for your concern about screen usage before bed. I use blue light elimination on my devices and do not find that playing games keeps me from falling asleep.

    First person rpg like Skyrim?

    Posted: 12 Apr 2018 08:17 AM PDT

I'm basically torn between 7mages, the quest, and legends of grimlock, or if I'm missing any big ones. I want an expansive world with alot of quest and a lot of variation of combat and items like Skyrim. Open world and a lot of side quests. Any suggestions?

Games like roller coaster tycoon classic?

    Posted: 12 Apr 2018 08:33 AM PDT

I just got done playing through roller coaster tycoon classic. Loved it on pc back in the day and loved it on my phone. Are there any other management builder games as good as RCT? I've tried a few but there isn't one as in depth as RCT. Just wondering if you guys know of any. Thanks!

Are there any successful iOS versions/clones of the old, famous "Audiosurf" game?

    Posted: 11 Apr 2018 03:06 PM PDT

Just wondering. Audiosurf was this awesome racing game where you use your own music to create your own race track.

At some point several years ago this game was extremely popular and well known.

    Dead Rivals - release thoughts

    Posted: 12 Apr 2018 06:24 AM PDT

Think this was released in last 24 hours, but its been in limited release for quite some time in some regions.

    I've been looking forward to it and following it for some time, but heres my experiences so far;

    • Its advertised as a zombie survival MMO.
    • The asthetic is perhaps... Fortnite-ish? Thats the vibe I get.
    • I've tried to log in perhaps 10+ times and only got into a game once.
    • That game locked up my ipad about 10 mins in and I had to hard reset.

So... so far, so not good.

    • What I did play was .... ok. Controls are pretty nice (not tried MFI yet, hoping it has it). Would have liked a fire button on left side too.

    • They have tried to make controls a bit easier by allowing an auto aiming toggle (press it, aims at next enemy)

    • Has 'auto walk' to get to next story points. Not seen that in a game before but its quite a nice idea.

    • But in general overall, everything felt a bit 'clunky' movement wise.

    • When a story bit pops up with text overlay the screen, it doesnt pause the game in the background, so you either have to rush read the text, or make sure you clear out the area first. Not ideal.

    • The shooting mechanics felt pretty satisfying

    • Has an RPG style progression and the old lootbox chestnut. Lot of opinion on the beta versions is it hits a paywall pretty quickly.

I'd say theres nothing here that cant be tweaked with a patch or two, but the biggest problem is the technical issues of not being able to log in or then being kicked/crashes.

Any games aside from Dragon Project or other MMO-likes that give you the feels, addictive, or engaging with meaningful progression?

Coming up a bit empty. I always end up in a gacha rabbit hole... Are there paid games that have an active community? Just about every game I find ends up being gacha with a subreddit thats 99% memes and home made character art. Looking for something with a somewhat mature community, engaging deep gameplay, some semblance of multiplayer, or at least the existence of others playing in a shared world. Preferably fantasy. Anything that has like a dark souls or WoW vibe but with a strong playerbase. Im not sure if it exists - an IOS game thats taken really seriously?

Paperspace + Moonlight on iOS, split screen hack for headset display?

    Posted: 11 Apr 2018 12:07 PM PDT

I've set up a Parsec gaming rig on Paperspace, (works great btw), and I also have a cheep VR headset I can put my iPhone in. I use a MFi controller run Moonlight connected to Paperspace, as well as native iOS VR apps.

I'm looking for a Windows app that I can install on my Paperspace VM that would split the display, then replicate the same view on both the left and the right side of the screen. I'm not trying to run full VR functionality through Moonlight, I just want the image to split into stereo so I can play non-VR games with my iPhone in the headset.

From the description of the iOS app KinoConsole, it looks like the ideal solution including full VR functions, except it needs to be connected to the same wifi as the gaming PC. I've messed around with putting my iPhone and the Paperspace VM into a VPN, but alas I've ether misconfigured the VPN, or KinoConsole is simply not tricked by a VPN.
