Who -hasn't- had their 2017 MBP butterfly keys screw up on them? Posted: 11 Apr 2018 11:08 PM PDT I'm terrified that I'm going to run into problems with my base 13" 2017 MBP I bought at the end of March (the first Mac I've ever purchased and owned). I guess I'm just looking for a little peace of mind here. Which of you haven't had a single problem with the butterfly keys? It would be an absolute shame if the first Macbook I ever bought completely turned me off to Apple products. Honestly, I love this thing but I'm scared it's going to break my heart. PS - I know a post like that already exists, but I'm just hoping to get an update from the last time this question was asked. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 11 Apr 2018 05:55 PM PDT Hello Reddit, So I have a Mid 2006 Macbook Core Duo. The harddrive has completely gone, so I went ahead and put my disk in for Snow Leopard. The problem is, that my display is broken on the Macbook, so I have removed it and now have it connected to an external monitor. The situation: The installer for 10.6 is trying to display the setup on the internal display, which is not plugged in. It shows the space wallpaper on my external monitor, and my mouse moves between the 2 "screens". What I want to know is how I can make it only display on my external monitor, but without seeing the internal display (It was a shattered panel, I only see tons of colours.) so I can continue the installation. Please respond quick if you have the solution, as I would like to get my old computer back up and running again. Sorry for the long post. Thanks for reading, Jonathan V. Demetrio [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Apr 2018 11:34 AM PDT I want to get some second opinions or more on a purchase I plan on making in the near future. Essentially I have money saved up and I want to use it on a new office/school/gaming/video setup. Money is not a HUGE issue as in I don't have a set budget but I would still factor in price heavily as if I can spend a few hundred less on a Mac I would i.e. refurbished. I also currently have a 2015 MacBook Air i7 256gb. I can sell it through apple's trade-in partner for $550 or sell it privately and put towards my new setup. (Probably going to do it through apple to save the hassle) All prices are refurbished and tax included as well as AppleCare. So, I have more or less 3 options, one of which is kind of out of my price range.
Wanted some opinions based on this detail... personal use of these kinds of comps would be great but any opinion is cool, one thing to mention is I don't do any kind of video editing of photo editing on my computer, I want the best specs because i've had experience in the past where I got good specs, i.e. an i5 processor that worked wonders for the price and had no issues at all UNTIL time became and a factor and it started to function like shit, so I want an i7 so in the long term, even it gets old it will still be more than enough for me. I plan on keeping this setup for at least the next 7 years. (I like to stay up to date with technology) [link] [comments] |
When will the next generation macbooks be released? Posted: 11 Apr 2018 02:03 PM PDT So im thinking about buying a new computer since my old pc is starting to rot away. I've decided that I'm going to buy a macbook pro but it seems like it has been a good while since they last released new models. Do you guys know if there are new macs coming out and if so do you know when? [link] [comments] |
Just bought a 12' rMB 2016. Accessory recommendations? Posted: 11 Apr 2018 12:21 PM PDT First mac ever, and i have no idea what to get. I'm in canada, if that helps with finding components. I know i'm going to need a USB c hub of some sort. I'm not looking to spend a lot though. I need the following in a hub.
I might also get a power adapter extension cable, for coffee shops and the library on campus. I'm also looking for a leather sleeve to provide padding in my backpack. And maybe a case/cover for the laptop. I bought a rose gold, because it was a LOT cheaper than other models. I'm not too fond of the color, and was looking to hide it with a case or stickers. But i dont think i can get a case to cover the inside. Any recommendations to hide the pink color? Or any accessories i'm forgetting? [link] [comments] |
