    Hey everyone!

    Recently, there's been a lot of "drama" in this subreddit, and honestly, I've had enough. There's been posts trying to pin the blame on coolstar for this drama, but it happens time and time again, so something else must be flawed; it's impossible to shift the blame onto him. Realistically, the actual reason drama exists is because of posts deliberately trying to cause it. An example of this would be posts and comments that specially are aimed at targeting coolstar. It creates a divide in the community, because people have formed an opinion based on incorrect assumptions, based on other people's opinions.

    The reason I start with that, is because it's crucial to understanding why the points in this post are so significant. Please keep in mind this is a more in-depth version of tweets I posted this morning, after reading up on yet more attacks to developers. They're of course by no means factual, and this post is fully based on my opinion. I will attempt to express the view of the majority of developers I have spoken to.

    issue 1 - rule breaking posts with many upvotes

    Rule breaking posts are actually turned a blind eye too, if they have a lot of upvotes. I've seen countless examples of this previously, especially with iOS bugs, that have little or no relevance to jailbreaking. It does not matter if you get backlash for enforcing your rules, because they might as well not be there, if they are never enforced.

    Although this seems minor, it's telling people similar posts are acceptable. This eventually leads to the subreddit dictating how things are ran, with moderators taking a more backseat approach.

    issue 2 - response times

    When you do have an issue, response times for moderators to respond have always been quite high. This links back to #1, because it means the change to catch such posts have gone. I also see a lot of piracy (that I have reported hours ago) still present a few hours later.

    Now I understand that the team have their own lives, but I'm also lead to believe a lot of moderators are inactive. It seems like they're over worked, and there's not enough of them, to the point where getting three additional ones seems kinda redundant. This perhaps explains why the other issues in my post exists, at all.

    issue 3 - issues with rules

    The rules haven't been adapted to account for changes in the subreddit's community. For example, calling developers out — basically flaming, and witch hunting someone, is perfectly acceptable.

    Another example of this would be with potentially harmful software — untested forks of jailbreaks, are only removed under very specific circumstances (license violations, etc). When I applied for moderator both times, I expressed my major concerns with this, and I suggested that the creator of forked software should have to approve the fork before it's allowed to be redistributed. Evidently, I did not get moderator, so this suggestion was probably ignored.

    issue 4 - lack of leadership

    This is probably as a consequence of the lack of time for the moderators, as touched on in #2, but there's a real lack of communication between the subreddit moderators and the community.

    Some examples:

    • Moderators took days to write a response to patreon, which basically shrugged off responsibility, and if anything made the situation worse.

    • Not once did any moderator mention anything about coolstar drama, and what they were doing to relieve attacks / make a stance clear on it.

    When the subreddit required leadership and guidance the most, they were not present. This really upsets me, because I have faith they're better than that. But this directly causes issues like the ones mentioned in #1, and I really want them to be more vocal.

    I believe mods have a responsibility to ensure threads don't turn into silly accusations, which many attacks on coolstar, electra, patreon etc have turned into. Even the titles should tell you that really, they should probably be removed.

    I'm sure some responses to this post will attack me, and suggest that I should do something to help. I'm not in a position to help the subreddit, but the discord admin team (including me), has worked tirelessly to create a better atmosphere in our chats. The discord is proof that this community can be nice, with proactive staff.

    I know what the moderator team here thinks of me, and it's unfortunate to say the least; I just create drama, and toxicity. But so much more could be done about the issues in this subreddit, and I'd love to work with you on suggestions to fix them. I don't expect a response to this post, but it'd be nice. Also, I do like the moderators, and this is not an attack on them, by no means.

    Also, just a reminder: the "community" isn't a few toxic trolls on reddit and twitter, and really, the jailbreak community is pretty good.

    I was using Electra for like a day, maybe two. I first installed and was like WTF can I even use or install with this shit? NOTHING! Like older and previous jailbreaks. Hell, Yalu for my 6+ on 10.2 was stable af compared to this; not to mention fully functioning Cydia and substrate and other tweaks. I wonder how long until this mysterious jailbreak will be released??? I'm patiently waiting because on 11.1.2 iPhone X battery life is great and I can wait for a perfect JB.

    Accepting request for some Jailbreak Detection bypasses on Flex . Keep in mind most apps require me to have an account Ex Banks *. There are apps that use Server sided Jailbreak checks unfortunately I'm not going to spend hours on just 1 app *Ex Barclay bank, Snapchat Etc.. . I will do my best on what I can get done but please don't get mad if I can't do your request because it's to time consuming or they have strong jailbreak detection that requires me to do more then a flex patch .

    Update : Sorry you guys seem to be posting bank apps and other apps that require me to have an account with them of some sort . Please post request for apps I don't need to have a bank account with and have had a Flex jailbreak detection in the past but need to be updated for example . Flex can unfortunately only do so much and nothing I can do on it will change that it's very limited :(

    Hi, i recently upgraded my electra to 1.0.3 from 1.0.2. Since doing this i have noticed my phone not performing well and resprings taking literally 5 mins. I tried using 1.0.2 again but the problem persists. EDIT: I have a 6s on 11.1.2 EDIT 2: Turns out it was anemone

    So in a nutshell I am on ios 10.2 with Yalu jailbreak and I am finding it a bit to buggy recently and I was wondering if I could just switch to meridian 10.2 JB next Sunday when my Yalu needs to be resigned. I have my second device on ios 10.3.3 meridian JB and I am quite satisfied with it overall. Will I loose all of my tweaks and sources if I do switch to meridian? Will it crash my device? Please let me no, any help is much appreciated, Thanks.

    [Discussion] Let's Talk About Eclipse X

    Hi everyone! GMoran (@fr0st) here, bringing you an update on Eclipse X.

    For those of you that are new to the jailbreak community, Eclipse X is a tweak that I've been developing and maintaining since iOS 7 was jailbroken in 2013. Since then, I've been working on maintaining this tweak for all iOS releases up to iOS 11. It's my pet project, and although I've found myself with less time on my hands to work on it (due to school and a newly-obtained internship), I've always been happy to provide updates.

    I've gotten a lot of feedback for EclipseX, so I thought I'd make this post and answer a lot of frequently asked questions.

    If you don't see your question answered below, comment it. I'll try to get to everybody!

    Beta 8 Changelog?

    • Temporary hacky fix for music search bar (until I actually fix it)
    • Fix the AppStore search bar
    • Fix a crash inside Safari when typing certain queries
    • Support for Notes.app
    • Support for Snapchat text chat
    • Better night mode support for Cydia
    • Completely refactored Eclipse for better performance/usage
    • Rewrote my initializer code for better stability

    When is [common issue] going to be fixed?

    • Many issues with third party apps. Many apps don't adhere to Apple's UIKit design. Support must be explicitly written for these apps. I promise to work on more third party app support in the very near future!

    • Some people report a camera glitch. I cannot seem to replicate this. If you are experiencing this bug, please contact me via Twitter DM. I'm determined to solve this issue ASAP.

    • Some system app glitches. I promise I'm working really hard on those. Apple made a lot of changes in iOS 11.

    NoctisXI Support?

    • I'm not particularly happy with people trying to decide whether NoctisXI or EclipseX is better. Nor am I happy to have this be turned into a competition. My intention is not to compete with LaughingQuoll, which is why we originally agreed to not interfere with each other's work. However, it's a free market, and I have no resentment towards him.

    • Regardless, LQ and I are working together to make sure EclipseX and NoctisXI are fully compatible with each other, simply because it is in the best interest of the community.

    Why isn't there a whitelist?

    • AppList has not been updated to support iOS 11. Therefore, I cannot enable that feature for you guys. Once AppList is updated, I promise I will enable the feature.

    Why don't you respond to my tweet/email/DM?

    • I see all your messages, but I don't have time to respond to everyone. Sorry :(

    I donated. When am I going to get my complementary copy?

    • First of all, thanks for your generous support! I promised all my donors a copy of EclipseX upon release, and I will come through!

    Here's how it'll go down:

    • Once Cydia Store purchases are enabled on iOS 11, I will promptly email every single one of my donors and request their Cydia ID#. The email will explain how to get a Cydia ID, in case you don't know how.

    • Once you respond with your Cydia ID, I will credit your account with a copy of EclipseX in roughly 24 hours or less (I will be doing gifting in waves).

    Is EclipseX going to be a free update?

    • A lot of work has gone into Eclipse X. For the past 4 years, I've been bundling Eclipse 1-4 (four years!) for a one-time fee of $0.99.

    • With that said - EclipseX will more than likely be an entirely new package, at the low price of $0.99.

    Conclusion

    [Question] Apple watch not connected with active jailbreak?

    So I have my iPhone X 11.1.2 jailbroken with Electra 1.0.2, and I have an apple watch series 1 at os 4.2.3.

    I noticed when my jailbreak is active with tweaks running, my apple watch does not connect to my phone even though Bluetooth enabled. If I reboot out of tweak mode with Electra, my phone can connect to my watch again.

    Does anyone have any idea what I can do, or am I possibly going to have to give up my jailbreak to be able to continue to use my apple watch with my phone?
