4th gen atv, how do I check remaining time in whatever I'm watching? Posted: 24 Mar 2018 09:37 PM PDT Is there a way to see how much time is left in the show/movie I'm watching without having to pause? I remember in the older atv I would just press down to open the subtitles/audio settings and then cancel, once they closed out you could see the time remaining for whatever you're watching, not ideal but it didn't interrupt the show/movie. Now the only way is to pause, which is annoying and ruins the flow of the show/movie. Is this possible without pausing? [link] [comments]
I wish there was a general search feature on the home screen that would search through all apps. Posted: 24 Mar 2018 08:57 PM PDT I was thinking this would make things so much more convenient than trying to figure out what movies or shows are available on what app and also help avoid purchasing things unnecessarily. Can I stream my apple TV to my phone? Posted: 24 Mar 2018 05:49 PM PDT I know its meant to be the other way around, but is it possible? Like say I wanted to stream TLJ (which is on my apple TV) so that I was watching it on my phone, is that possible? [link] [comments]

Does YouTube run at 4K for anyone on the AppleTV 4K? Posted: 24 Mar 2018 09:57 AM PDT When I display "Stats for Nerds", it tells me that the viewport is 3840x2160 (which is good) but that the "Optimal" video size is 1920x1080. This is true for all 4K videos. They play in full resolution on the TiVo Mini sitting next to it, so it's not the TV or bandwidth. Before I continue chasing it, I'd like to know if it's even possible or if it's a bug/limitation of AppleTV 4K. Movies and Netflix appear to work in 4K and the overall video mode is set to 4K SDR (HDR doesn't look great on my setup). [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Mar 2018 07:45 PM PDT Hi, I am watching the Netflix documentary series "Dirty Money" and something is wrong with the subtitles. In episode one, some of the subjects are speaking German. I would expect to see their speech with English subtitles. But no. If I swipe down and turn english subtitles on, I also have have subtitles during all english speech. If I swipe down and turn them off, no subtitles for German speech. Is this a flaw with the app, or do I have a screwy setting somewhere? [link] [comments]
confused about apple tv and dolby vision Posted: 24 Mar 2018 06:09 PM PDT New 2017 LG OLED C7 65. Apple TV4K. Passing through a Pioneer SC-LX801. Content - from the apple - on Netflix and Prime will correctly light up Dolby Vision and HDR. iTunes Movies will not. It's weird because I go to the home screen I get the DV notification from the TV. Seems to work the opposite of what I expect. TV firmware updated today. Pioneer firmware is the latest. Any clue what could be wrong? Also, any way to status check what the currently playing signal looks like? [link] [comments] |
