Window rearrangement, why is this happening? Posted: 15 Feb 2018 07:06 PM PST For the last few weeks since I updated to High Sierra I've been experiencing something weird. I run a triple-monitor setup on my MacBook Pro (display, 2x monitors) and have several apps in fullscreen on each display. Randomly when three-finger-swiping to the sides to navigate between them I'll end up at an app that I did not expect, and I'll find that the order of apps on the display has been rearranged (three-fingers-up to check) and I cannot for the life of me figure out why. I'm definitely not rearranging them by accident by re-ordering on the three-finger-up gesture, that's how I get them ordered in the first place. Is there a gesture I'm not aware of that drags your current application instead of switching? It's been driving me mad. Thanks. Edit: just FYI they don't appear on other displays, to clarify. Same display, different app-order. [link] [comments]
Remapping of Android bluetooth keyboard Posted: 15 Feb 2018 10:30 AM PST Hey everyone, I've just ordered a new monitor and the only external keyboard I could use is a Samsung BKB-10 (http://www.samsung.com/ie/consumer/mobile-devices/accessories/input/BKB-10GBWEGXEU/). Does anyone know how to remap the keys on that keyboard to whatever keys I want? I took a brief look at Karabiner-Elements, but I don't know how to figure out what the name of the input keys actually is (for Windows keyboards it seems doable). Any ideas/tips? Might be obvious, but I just don't know.. I'm on the latest stable version of Mac OS. Thanks! Best, [link] [comments]
Looking for some help updating to 10.13.3 Posted: 15 Feb 2018 11:09 AM PST Hi all, I have a Mac Mini 2014 that I'm trying to update to 10.13.3. In order to speed up the system, I'm currently running the Mac with an external USB SSD as my boot drive, currently on 10.13.2. This configuration works really well and is super-fast, but for some reason I cannot update to 10.13.3. When I run the updater from the app store, it downloads the file, goes through the motions of "installing", reboots, and then a message pops up saying "Some updates were not installed automatically." I have tried downloading the update dmg from Apple's website, and I even tried the softwareupdate command in Terminal, but I cannot get the update to stick. For reference I updated the Mac's internal HDD to 10.13.3 and everything went smoothly. Same goes for my 2012 Macbook Air. Does Apple not allow OS updates to external boot drives? Any help is most appreciated. [link] [comments]
[HELP] mDNSResponder eating internet traffic Posted: 15 Feb 2018 07:56 AM PST Hello people I was looking at my activity monitor and I found that mDNSResponder was recieving a lot of data (49mb)... I looked online and I understand it's a bonjour process, to scan the network for compatible devices and etc... But I don't understand why it uses "so much" data since it's supposedly made to discover devices nearby. Do you guys know? I'm using latest stable High Sierra release [link] [comments]
Posted: 15 Feb 2018 07:51 AM PST I was running High Sierra 10.13.1, and Apple notified me through the app store that there was an update to the operating system, so I updated it. Prior to that, each night I would close the lid of my mac, and I'd reopen it the next morning and be good to go. Now, when I close the lid at night, and open it the next morning, it doesn't turn on, so I have to hold the power button and it takes 5 minutes or so to boot up. This is very frustrating, but I'm not sure how to fix it, or if I can maybe go BACK to 10.13.1 without doing a fresh install. [link] [comments]

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 03:10 AM PST Has anyone here used Rogue Amoeba' Loopback? does this have the same functionality as OS X's Audio MIDI Setup with Soundflower? [link] [comments] |
