The Apple Park campus really does look like an UFO landed in Cupertino. Here's an aerial pic! Posted: 15 Feb 2018 10:12 AM PST Took the above pic with my Phantom 4 Pro drone. If you guys and gals can make the trip to see the campus in person, you should. It's pretty remarkable looking. You can check out my other work at http://instagram.com/keithkman [link] [comments] |

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 06:24 PM PST Shoutout to Apple tonight. I've been experiencing weird issues with my MacBook Pro with Touchbar (late 2016) since July. It broke down during a software install and I mailed it off for repair where it had the logic board replaced and trackpad replaced (no idea why the trackpad was necessary, but I'm fine with it). Fast forward a few months and it's been doing the following this when waking from sleep: 1) displaying columns of vertical lines across the display, 2) screen stays black but touch bar is lit and ready, or 3) it has restarted because of an error. The display issues resolve after holding down the power button and restarting it between one and four times. It's been frustrating as hell. I contacted Apple and the day before I went to mail it out for repair I lost my job and couldn't live with losing my MacBook to apply for jobs and edit resumes and cover letters. It sucked and by the time I was back on my feet I was out of warranty and the repair had been closed/cancelled. After visiting an Apple store today and being told to connect to Apple Support again I initiated a chat session which went great until I was asked to pay nearly $860. A senior chat advisor, Caleb, was able to have to have this repair done for free outside of warranty and I couldn't be more grateful to him and to Apple. I honestly have no idea why my MacBook is acting up, and it's my second MacBook since 2012 (that one never had an issue). He was extremely understanding, patient, and a pleasure to work with and I can't help but think this is why I have thrown so much of my money at Apple products over the years and recommend their products time after time. The customer service is stellar and he has really made my night, if not week. [link] [comments] |

Please allow us to see People albums when selecting contact pictures Posted: 15 Feb 2018 07:09 PM PST Photos has a great facial recognition feature that allows us to view all of a person's pictures in the "People" folder under the "Albums" tab. It would be great if we could take advantage of this to quickly select a contact's picture instead of browsing through the hundreds (sometimes thousands) of pictures some of us have. There is a lot of the above in this sub. I think a rule like this could go a long way to help foster useful, intelligent discussion. Not every Apple product is perfect, nor are they the worst. But threads always seem to de-evolve into someone calling out haters or fanboys. Thoughts? Edit: even having the automod erase any comment with the words fanboy or hater (and the growing list of alternative spellings) would go a long ways to cleaning up many threads. [link] [comments] |
How to fix messages after Indian Text (Steps) Posted: 15 Feb 2018 12:58 PM PST this method requires 3D touch
I don't know any alternate methods for non 3D Touch devices. If there are any other tutorials out there for non 3D Touch devices or any third party apps. [link] [comments] |
The only thing I would add to the watch. Posted: 15 Feb 2018 08:50 PM PST I wish the "Now Playing" screen on the Apple Watch would show the amount of time left on the podcasts app. I don't really need a big volume display for my podcast. So am I the only one that thinks this or am I just being stupid? Edit: Spelling [link] [comments] |

I'm tempted to order a second Homepod Posted: 15 Feb 2018 10:36 AM PST I'm tempted to order a second Homepod in anticipation of airplay 2. How many fellow redditors have already done so? [link] [comments] |
Does anyone wish the “picture in picture” on the iPad featured controls to rewind music and seek? Posted: 15 Feb 2018 01:15 PM PST I'm talking about how, such as in YouTube, you can press a button that "pushes" the YouTube video onto the corner of your iPad while it can play in the background. However the only functionality you really have is pausing the video. I wish there was a way to rewind and forward the video, as well as adding a toggle to seek the video to different time intervals. Pad & Quill Debuts New Leather Coasters for HomePod Posted: 15 Feb 2018 11:25 AM PST |
Posted: 15 Feb 2018 07:45 PM PST I am on iPhone and 11.2.5 and MacOS 10.13.3. Since last couple of months (I think after High Sierra upgrade) I don't see the Mac notification in top-right corner when I receive a cellular call on iPhone anymore. Instead the entire FaceTime window opens up in the front with camera activated showing me my live feed. And when I close this FaceTime window before accepting the call on iPhone it rejects the call. Sad part is there isn't any option to even accept the call in FaceTime. Any way to get the notification back? Any help would appreciated. [link] [comments] |

Google Maps update brings redesigned explore bar Posted: 15 Feb 2018 04:47 AM PST I really like it! I can see live transit arrivals nearby which is super helpful in New York City. Only thing is I almost got used to the extra space down there, no biggie. [link] [comments] |
