When I try to call somone it just says Call Failed and I don't seem to have any signal bars (even though this sim works on 6s+ and other sims seem to be working fine on the X) occasionally when I tried re-inserting the sim I would get a 5-10 second window where I can make calls without any problem. I was even getting signal bars while setting up the phone. Tried everything I can on my end from re-booting to resetting. Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments]  |

| Iphone 7 plus no wifi, no bluetooth, overheating. Posted: 12 Jan 2018 09:13 PM PST Bluetooth can be switched on, but never finds or connects. Wifi buttons are greyed out. I don't know if its relevant but when I first boot it after a restart the settings won't open. Its only after a couple of minutes. So far I've tried resetting the wifi settings, and I am trying to reset the whole phone now. What could this be? Damaged sensor? Overheating? Whats more annoying is that I can't upgrade to 11.2.2 since it requires wifi. [link] [comments]  |

| Contacts not syncing in text messages. Posted: 12 Jan 2018 12:20 PM PST I recently went on a trip to Mexico where I wasn't able to use my iPhone 8 due to carrier restrictions. I was able to use WiFi. When I got back my contacts wouldn't sync to my text messages properly. For example if I texted someone from a number (like 234-567-8910), it wouldn't recognize it as a number in my contacts. When the person would text me back, it would appear as (1-234-567-8910) as being from my contacts. Sometimes this problem would be reversed too. Anyone know of a fix for this? My phone has been updated to iOS 11.2.1 if that matters. Thanks [link] [comments]  |
| Repeated kernel panic crashes on iPhone 5s Posted: 12 Jan 2018 01:18 PM PST Hi all, My iPhone 5s is about four years old now, but it's worked like a charm until a couple weeks ago when it randomly started crashing while using a wide variety of apps (Podcasts, Alien Blue, Safari, Camera, etc.) and getting stuck in a reboot cycle until I did a hard reset. Sometimes after crashing the screen will look weird on reboot, with the screen brighter in the middle than on the edges, and sometimes with vertical black and white bars filling the screen. I tolerated this for a couple weeks, then finally decided to do a full DFU restore plus iOS update. Unfortunately this did not fix the problem; it's still crashing a couple times a day. I'm thinking this means the issue is probably hardware related? Should I try replacing the battery or something, or should I just give up on this phone? As I mentioned, it's over 4 years old so not under warranty or anything like that. I have had the screen replaced (by Apple, not a third party) twice, but the most recent time was like a year and a half ago. | Cannot enable wifi calling on VZW iPhone X. Posted: 12 Jan 2018 08:21 AM PST Hi all, So I've never been able to enable wifi calling on my iPhone X, it wasn't an issue until VZW's cell signal degraded so much that I can no longer make/receive phone calls from my home. When I try to enable wifi calling from my iPhone it tells me to contact VZW. When I call VZW, I get sent back to Apple. So...not sure what else I can do. Any ideas how to fix this issue? | How can I improve my iPhone X battery life? Posted: 12 Jan 2018 09:00 AM PST Today, for example, I woke up at 7am, used my phone to listen to a podcast while working out. I got home and didn't use it for about 30 minutes while getting ready. Afterwards I streamed some music on Spotify while browsing social media. By the time I got to school around 8:45, the phone was already at 81%. I found that a bit ridiculous. I've had it for three weeks and the first few days, the battery life seemed incredible. Now it seems pretty bad. I've turned off a lot of notifications and most background app refresh stuff. My girlfriend has an iPhone 6 and it was still at 100% after a couple hours of minor use and music streaming. Can I do anything else? Anyone else experience this hat has a good remedy? The first time it either jumps and presses random buttons and most of the time nothing at all. Then I push the power button and unlock again and it works fine. Sometimes I have to call two times or have to be called two times aswel. The first time it's all crap connection and then the second I can hear perfectly fine. I have no cover or anything. It's never been dropped. All original nothing fixed or replaced. Since I got it like 3 years ago nothing bad has happened to it at all and always took care of it. No water damage either. No scratches on the screen. Basically as new phone always on my desk which is why I find it annoying this is happening. Barely any apps on it except for things like google maps, skype, instagram and facebook. No new apps for a long time and it all worked fine before. What I tried so far. - Resetting it. Hard reset aswel. - Pushing the top right corner on the screen. - Different charger. - Different socket. - Reset all settings. Hope someone can help [link] [comments]  |
