    Now that a few new jailbreaks are out, just wanted to remind everyone to change their root SSH passwords! I'm sure most of you are probably on top of this, but for new users, those that didn't know, or just those who forget due to excitement of the new jailbreak, this is for you guys :)

    At least with Electra and g0blin, it enables SSH and SCP on ports 22 and 2222, with the default root password as alpine. This means that if you went out in public and connected to a Wi-Fi network, someone could potentially log into your device remotely and have root privileges. With new jailbreaks out, I wouldn't be surprised if hackers at coffeeshops and stuff just had scripts to try root:alpine on every IP in the subnet for the next couple weeks, so be safe!

    Super easy to change it.

    1. SSH to your phone as root

    2. run passwd

    3. type the new password twice

    And you're good to go! Just use that new password for SSH/SCP and you will be much more secure in public.

    Edit: To use SSH, if you are on Windows, you can use Putty to connect: https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/latest.html

    or, if you are on Mac/Linux, you can simply run ssh root@<phone IP> in a Terminal and it will connect.

    [Tutorial] How to get substrate-only tweaks working with Electra! (Such as Zeppelin and Cylinder)

    1. Download CydiaSubstrate deb: http://apt.saurik.com/cydia/debs/mobilesubstrate_0.9.6301_iphoneos-arm.deb

    2. Extract using some app such as ZipApp Free

    3. Using FilzaEscaped or SSH move CydiaSubstrate.framework to /Library/Frameworks and libsubstrate.dylib to /usr/lib

    4. Now you can install any substrate tweaks to /bootstrap/Library/SBinject! Just tested by me: Cylinder, Zeppelin, FingerTouch! All work properly. (Note: tweaks will not work on Safari or App Store apps due to sandbox)

    If you're experiencing "failed to load preferencebundle for..." then run chmod 777 /bootstrap/Library/PreferenceBundles/TWEAK_NAME.bundle/TWEAK_NAME and make sure you jailbroke with beta 3

    UPDATE: NoSlowAnimations and SpeedIntensifier do not work! The settings aren't saved and the respring button is broken

    [Question] ELI5 the current iOS 11 JB

    Hi forum,

    I want to see if any helpful individuals can help me understand the current JB for iOS 11 and actually explain and not down vote me to help for not being knowledgable.

    I know coolstar released the JB and there is no cydia or mobilesubstrate. Some questions.

    How are people running tweaks with no substrate ?
    How useful is it
    I am fairly technical and code, what are the pros and cons of taking this? Or not taking it

    [Request] Tweak to give root access to Apple’s “Files” app and make it like iFile

    !!!WARNING Barrels needs to be deactivated if respring is planned, if you dont deactivate Barrels before you respring it will cause SpringBoard crash if you got a SpringBoard crash deactivate Barrels respring and activate it afterwards again!!!

    Hello Gents and Lads,

    just like the other TuT,

    Use bash for Windows or directly Unix/MacOS, extract deb files, downloadable at cydiacrawler (Free Tweaks). (dpkg -x "nameofdebs.deb" /coolstar). If you now extract the debs all Files will be located at "/coolstar/Library/*".

    Needed Cygwin 32/64 with Python and https://github.com/coolstar/iOSToolchain4Win/archive/3a006697d7b90ef003f3ed7f92fcbc3ce4afbee8.zip this zip must be extraced to your cygwin directory.

    Sign file which ends with *.dylib and without endings. Start cygwin with cygwin.bat (Which is in C:\cygwin) Change directory: "cd /coolstar/Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries" sign now needed files: "ldid2 -S Alkaline.dylib","ldid2 -S zeppelin_sb.dylib","ldid2 -S zeppelin_uikit.dylib"

    than cd to: "cd /coolstar/Library/PreferenceBundles/AlkalineSettings.bundle" sign now needed files: "ldid2 -S AlkalineSettings"

    than cd to: "cd /coolstar/Library/PreferenceBundles/ZeppelinSettings.bundle" sign now needed files: "ldid2 -S ZeppelinSettings"

    Now we start with placing the file at the correct places/dictionarys.

    1. Found in your extract library at "/coolstar/Library/PreferenceBundles" "ZeppelinSettings.bundle" and "AlkalineSettings.bundle" need to be copied to "/bootstrap/Library/PreferenceBundles"

    2. Found in your extract library at "/coolstar/Library/PreferenceLoader" "AlkalineSettings.plist" and "ZeppelinSettings.plist" need to be copied to "/bootstrap/Library/PreferenceLoader/Preferences"

    3. Found in your extract library at "/coolstar/Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries" "Alkaline.dylib" "Alkaline.plist" and "zeppelin_sb.dylib" "zeppelin_sb.plist" "zeppelin_uikit.dylib" "zeppelin_uikit.plist" need to be copied to "/bootstrap/Library/SBInject"

    4. Theme Files need to be placed directly at "/Library/" for Alkaline "/Library/Alkaline"

    for Zeppelin "/Library/Zeppelin"

    5. Go to Settings and disable Alkaline/Zeppelin then connect with ssh to your idevice (loginname: root / password: alpine) and enter this command: "killall -9 SpringBoard" without the quotes!

    [Tutorial] How to install Barrel w/ Electra (and other tweaks possibly) AT YOUR OWN RISK

    I'm writing this guide so people can follow instructions and get this working with Electra. You are fully doing this at your own risk so no noobs pls and I'm not responsible for any damage caused.

    I managed to get this working on windows by doing the following:

    Installing Cygwin and during setup selecting python

    Using the following link and copying the folders into the cygwin directory on the c drive https://github.com/coolstar/iOSToolchain4Win/archive/3a006697d7b90ef003f3ed7f92fcbc3ce4afbee8.zip

    Using bash for windows ( https://www.howtogeek.com/249966/how-to-install-and-use-the-linux-bash-shell-on-windows-10/ ) to extract the deb for Barrel. (dpkg -x "debnamenoquotes.deb" /mnt/c/fileoutputfolder) /mnt/c/ means mount c: drive.

    Go in each of the folders and sign the binaries. These are files with no extension, or dylib files. To do this in cygwin type "ldid2 -S binaryname". You may need to copy them to the home folder in cygwin then out.

    Finally SFTP using cyberduck or winscp to put the files into the correct folders. Open Library then the contents of /MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries goes into /bootstrap/Library/SBInject/ on the device. Contents of PreferenceBundles goes in /bootstrap/PreferenceBundles and contents of PreferenceLoader goes in /boostrap/PreferenceLoader.

    ENSURE AT THIS STAGE THE COPIED BINARIES ARE SIGNED.

    After this go to settings, and disable Barrel (set it to none), in terminal write "killall -9 SpringBoard" and you should respring. Then to go settings and change the animation and you're done! Enjoy :)

    [Discussion] How to remove Electra.

    Seen a few posts regarding the removal of Electra so I figured I'd post this so people can just see how to instead of asking constantly.

    SSH into your device using port 2222. The default root password is 'alpine'. Run bash /bootstrap/uninstall.sh

    That's it.

    EDIT: Some people saying this isn't working for them but sh /bootstrap/unjailbreak.sh is working for them. You can use either but the second method doesn't remove Electra for you, you have to do that yourself.

    [Question] Does anyone want the HomeDiagnostics suite?

    I currently have a lot of Apple internal programs. The entire HomeDiagnostics Suite including all of the purple programs and other internal programs. Usually people sell this kinda stuff on twitter but If there is a decent number of people who want it I'll release the dmg or just send it to anyone that dm's me on here and wants it. That would be a separate post so is something the community wants or cares about? Also all programs are compatible on highseirra

    Edit : I have gotten a lot of requests in my dm's for this software and have decided that I will give a download link to anyone who wants to dm me and for it

    Edit 2 : I just sent out the download link to the first round or people who dm'd me. I'll prob send it out to people who dm me in the next few days asking for it. I have had so much help and assistance over the years from this community even back when I was doing iPhone 4 jailbreaks and this is my way of giving back and doing my contribution since most people on Twitter are asking $30-$50 for it :) Have fun guys
